“Hayeon!” your mom greeted you as you had opened the door.

Your smile appeared widely upon your lips, “Mom! You’re here!”

You had been anticipating her arrival all day until now, the afternoon. She, unlike you, was one of the most sociable people you knew.

Well, then again, you didn’t really know much people. She was always with her friends and always trying to hook you up with someone new.

It was almost as if she had never run out of people to talk to which was pretty amazing in your eyes. She was like your idol.

Your father, on the other hand, had left your mother since he grew uncomfortable seeing her always with her friends – male and female.

As your mother came in, you expected her to give you a hug like she always did, but that excitement in her eyes was inevitable. She came in and slightly pushed you aside coming face to face with Luhan.

“Are you Luhan?” you could’ve sworn you saw your mom’s eyes twinkle.

It was show time.

Smiling, you walked next to Luhan, slipping his hands into yours, “Mom, I’d like you to meet Luhan, my b-boyfriend.”

Damn it. How could you stutter? That word really didn’t roll off your tongue as easily as you had hoped it would. Fortunately, it didn’t seem like your mother noticed at all.

“My, my,” she smiled widely, “Aren’t you a handsome boy?”

Luhan gave a slight bow, “It’s nice to finally meet you! The name’s Luhan, the love of Hayeon’s life.”

You couldn’t help but feel the urge to roll your eyes and elbow the boy in the gut. Did he really have to say it like that? It was just completely unnecessary!

“Shall I go get some tea for us?” you began, changing the subject by clearing your throat, “Mom, are you tired? Do you want to sit down? I know the walk from the area where the cab drops you off to here is a bit far.”

Your mom just shook her head, “I’m fine sweetheart. I want to hear about you and Luhan! How’d the two of you meet?”

The three of you slowly made your way to the living room where Luhan helped your mother sit down before you could get to her. That innocent look on his face was extremely deceptive and you couldn’t help but feel a bit annoyed.

“I had gone outside for a walk since it felt stuffy at home,” you began, bringing your knees up against your chest, “That’s where I met him.”

“She had fainted outside at the time, so I helped her,” he smiled, “Then, afterwards, she couldn’t help but feel her heart flutter at the sight of me.”

Your eyes narrowed at him. Was he seriously going to be like this?

“Luhan,” you hissed at him, urging to him to shut up, but he just smiled while replying, “What is it jagiya?”

Was this a good time to bang your head against a wall or…?

“Aw,” your mom clapped, “You two are so cute! So Luhan, you’re my Hayeon’s prince in shining armor? That’s almost like a fairy-tale!”

“MOM!” your eyes widened, “What are you talking about? Don’t over-exaggerate it alright? Luhan’s just another normal boy!”

Your mother just laughed, “Normal boy? My dear Hayeon, you’ve never shown interest in a boy in your entire life. There is no way this is just another boy.”

As your mother said those words, you saw Luhan move over to where you were and take a seat next to you. He s his arm around your waist that almost made you jump in surprise.

As he pulled you close against him, he kissed your temple, “Well, I’m glad I’m the first and last special guy in her life.”

His actions made your cheeks flare up in a deep shade of red and you couldn’t bring your eyes to meet his or your mother’s. Wasn’t he taking this act a bit too seriously? There was no need for any kisses in your opinion – even if they were only on the cheek.

You saw your mother smile at the two of you lovingly and you knew she believed this was all real. Even if you felt a bit bad lying to your mom, you really couldn’t help it.

You didn’t want to get married.

Speaking of marriage, the next words your mother said almost made you choke.

“Say, when do you two plan on getting married?”
