It's hard not to be the only one
Still You
A/N: I feel like you guys are so worried about the pairings so okay.. I'm announcing it right now. There will be a sequel right after this.. and of course, the sequel will be none other than, Minho's since this is Jonghyun's fic and the other mostly involved SHINee character is Minho. I have the story plot for the next story though that doesn't mean this will end soon. WE HAVE LONG WAY TO GO FOR THIS. XD As to Minho's pairing, it can be a continuation of Soeun/Minho or with some other girl.
As to why I decided to have a sequeal. Preferably because I want to have another Series for SHINee (Just like Hello Onew appa, to Dating SHInee Jjong is a no no, to I hate Key sunbae, to Choi Minho's Damsel in Distress, to Capturing Taemin oppa. Since SHINee's character were so different here compare to real life SHINee, then it's an interesting thing perhaps to wrote stories for all of them.
I talked so much. Sorry~
“You are so smart, Yoogeun-ah..”
Yoogeun and Soeun sat with Jonghyun's mother as they eat together during the celebration of his birthday. They were all fascinated at how talkative and bright the child was. He was clever and witty in answering the questions of the elders.
“Omma, Appa, Noona, Yoogeun can sing.” Jonghyun boasted after remembering the recording he had with Yoogeun before. “Do you want to hear his voice?”
“Oh, is it? Can we hear Yoogeunnie sing then?” His noona said in excitement.
“Right, Yoogeunie, why don't we just sing live?” Jonghyun then remembered something and immediately went somewhere. They were all puzzled until Jonghyun went back with something that they assumed as a gift. “Here's what I promised you.”
“Waahh!!” Yoogeun accepted the gift wrapped in a cute birthday wrapper. He tore it apart and a blue guitar welcomed him. It wasn't just a toy guitar. It was real and it looked so expensive. “Wow!! A real guitar!!!” Yoogeun said happily and showed his appreciation by hugging the guitar tightly. “Thank you, appa!” He also hugged Jonghyun and kissed his cheeks, after a while, the boy ran to his mother and showed the gift, “Look, omma! It's appa's gift!”
“Deh~” She smiled and nodded at her child.
“Let's go here.” Jonghyun pulled out chairs for the both of them at the center. He lifted up Yoogeun and made him sit on one chair. He occupied the other one, “Can I have your guitar first?” Yoogeun happily gave it to his appa.
“Annyonghasaeyo~” Jonghyun said capturing the attention of everybody who was present in Soeun's house. “Today is our dear Jung Yoogeun's birthday and as a thank you gift from Yoogeun to all who attended his birthday, he is going to present to you a wonderful song.”
The elders applauded and paid full attention to the kid. “Do you still remember Uncle Onew's song?” Jonghyun asked to which Yoogeun happily nodded, “Okay shall we hear it?”
Jonghyun started playing the guitar and sang the first note so Yoogeun could follow along. Minho started clapping his hands following the rhythm, then Jinki copied him, and so as Key and Taemin. Yoogeun sang beautifully in front of his visitors, while the guests on the other hand, responded with admiration towards the child.
“Yeeheeyy!! Good job, Yoogeun!” Jinki shouted and all of them applauded. He even gave two thumbs up to him as a recognition coming from the original singer.
“You got some singing skills, Yoogeun-ah! You can be the next Onew!” Uncle Taemin said to which Yoogeun disagreed.
“I will be the next Jonghyun appa!!” His father was overwhelmed that he pulled Yoogeun for another hug.
“Soeun-ah...” Jonghyun's mother called out, “Thank you for introducing Yoogeun to us, giving us the chance to be with him.” She held Soeun's hands and pressed them tightly. “If you didn't hide this then I think we would be happ-” She was suddenly elbowed by her husband.
“Yeojin can hear.” He reminded and Jonghyun's mother immediately smiled awkwardly as she realized Yeojin's presence.
“Ah... but isn't this a happy thing already? Aigoo~ Our Yoogeun is so great, can you sing for grandma again?” She said as she tried so hard to change the topic.
Soeun looked at Yeojin and noticed the sullen expression on her face. She wasn't feeling well – or maybe she didn't like what was happening.
“Yeojin ah, are you okay?”
She half smiled, but went back to her sullen expression again. For the past hours, Yeojin was trying her very best to appear okay and fine about what's happening. But as Jonghyun's wife, it made her jealous and uncomfortable when Jonghyun's family displayed close relationship towards his ex girlfriend – who happened to have their grandchild.
She knew she agreed into this, and just wanted to make Jonghyun happy and less worried about anything, but she never knew this setup would be difficult – knowing Jonghyun's attention won't only be focused on her. And the worse, not only Yoogeun would share with his attention, even Soeun would.
And right now, at that moment where everybody was so happy, Yeojin couldn't help but think about a lot of things. One of which is the revelation that Soeun and Minho were not really married. It made her worried. What if Jonghyun still loves Soeun and vice versa? What if Yoogeun asks for his parents to be together? What will happen to her? All these years, Yeojin has been the center of Jonghyun's world, but right now, she felt like she was just a part of it – and it didn't make her feel better.
“Oh, we forgot to blow the candles!” Jinki stood up and took the cake with candles. Soeun also stood up to help Yoogeun and Jonghyun. The three of them ended up blowing the candles on his cake.
Yeojin couldn't take the picture of a happy family in front of her so she stood up and silently made her way outside. The whisper of the wind welcomed her and she couldn't helo but feel the coldness of it. She hugged herself as she sighed.
As what she wanted, Jonghyun and Soeun were finally okay with each other when it comes to Yoogeun. However, it was her who was having problems when it comes to her emotion right now. She was trying her best to fight it, but seeing Jonghyun happy with someone else beside him could never make her feel better.
“Don't be too obvious.” Someone talked behind her back and when she looked back, it was Minho again.
“Oh, why did you come out?” She asked.
“Probably because of the same reason of why you were here.” Minho chuckled and looked at the sky. “It's cloudy... do you want to form a club? Let's call out Forever Jealous of my Lover's Ex club.” Minho tried to crack out a joke, but for the both of them, it was not funny – especially if it really seemed like it was the reality.
“Don't worry. They are only doing it for Yoogeun. Of course, if Yoogeun is happy, then they will happy as well.” Minho said trying to make her feel a bit better. “It's not like Jonghyun will fall in love with Soeun again. He has you, and you make him so happy as well.”
Yeojin thought for a while, “I know, but I'm just really jealous, and I know it's not right to feel that way. I'm sorry if I feel jealous of Soeun.”
“I kinda get jealous of Jonghyun, too. That's pretty normal, I guess.” Minho said and sighed, “We were in the situation not so normal from the others. I understand you.”
Yeojin thought she should be feel a bit better coz surely, Soeun and Minho will eventually marry each other.
“You were with her all these time, why marry her just now?” Yeojin said opening up another conversation. Minho thought for a while before answering.
“Hmm... let's say we waited for the right time. I mean, I believe everything has the proper timing.” Yeojin agreed to what Minho said. “Don't you want to get in now?”
She shook her head, “I feel better here. It's okay if you want to go back inside.”
Minho then settled to where he was standing, “No. I think it will be such a disrespect if I allow a girl to stay here alone.”
Eventually, the two of them started to talk about some things as well, forming a new found friendship on each other's persona.
