Chapter 24 – Another me?

I ran off immediately. Seung Joo’s father was ran after me while Klaude stopped Seung Joo.

“Wow, you ran so fast kid.” Seung Joo’s father said to me while I don’t have anywhere to go. It was a dead end. We stood about 5 meters away.

“What do you want?” I said. He just laughed.

“You are just as silly as your father..” He said.

“Don’t say anything about my family with your foul mouth..” I said to him.

“Oh yea? Try me. And what I’ve said just now is true. You won’t lose your family if your father is a bit clever. And not as stupid as he was.”

“I won’t lose my family if you don’t exist in this world..” I said in a calm tone.

“Oh, actually.. You won’t lose your family if that ring didn’t exist.. It should be mine, not his.”

“Should be yours? What the hell are you talking about..”

“My stupid dad chose him over me. That freaking step brother.. Saying the ring is the one who chose the owner.. It’s only a ring with somekind of silly sorcery. I don’t even believe there’s such thing as sorcery. ” He said. He’s my dad stepbrother? Were every stepbrother are evilish?

“Don’t speak like you know everything..” I said to him. I don’t know why, but he took out the most thing I hate after insect. A gun. Along with the silencer.

“Shut up.. You don’t know anything about your family right? Living such a miserable life, but you don’t even know where’re those problems come from..”

“Oh yeah? I know now..” I said, he pulled the trigger of his gun but still pointing it downwards.

“Whatever, you’re really as stupid as he is..” He said, walking up to me slowly. Should I run away? But he’s holding a gun, he could shoot it at me anytime. He reached me and place his gun on my neck.

“Relax Hyunjoong.. It’s not your first time..” I thought to myself.

“Wow, the same necklace like you father’s..” He said, tooking out my necklace with his gun and he looked at the ring. I was disgusted when he’s doing that.

“Oh, we finally meet again little fella..” He extended his hand to touch my ring.

“Don’t touch my ring with your filthy hand.” I slapped his hand away.

“Yeah?” He pointed his gun at my stomach, a bullet pierced in. “What now?” He said, looking at me who was already sitting on the ground, holding my stomach.

“I was wrong, you’re more stupid than your father. He brought at least a gun with him.. And you? You don’t even bring a single tiny weapon..” He said. Trying to reach out for my ring again. It took all my strength to prevent him touching it.

“Oh, you still have strengths to prevent me.. Cool.. You’re stupid but maybe you’re stronger than your father..” He said, pointing the gun and my arm.

“Take off you hand from my hand..” He said, but I kept holding his hand hard. He shot my left arm.

“Why do you want to protect this ring so much..” He snatched my ring away along with the necklace. “Well, as long as I have this ring, I don’t need you anymore..” He pointed his gun at my forehead. “Bye..”

“Huh?” I mumbled. Seungjoo’s father doesn’t even move a bit from his position, it’s like the time had stopped when that voice started to talk in my head.

God.. Move a bit. That voice said as I saw an image like a guy at my age appeared beside me right after the voice stopped. Wearing such a casual clothes but with something glowing in his hands. And it was when Seungjoo’s father shoot a bullet at me. I closed my eyes.

“Take your filthy hand off the ring, or else.. The next bullet you shoot would be landed on your silly tummy..” The same voice that talked to me before said. I opened my eyes and found the guy beside me was holding a bullet right in front of my forehead.

“Who are you?” Seungjoo’s father back off upon seeing him.

“I don’t need you to ask me, I need you to take your hand off that ring.. Or you really want this bullet pierced into your tummy.” The guy beside me said while waving the bullet he was holding.

“Stop dreaming.” Seungjoo’s father said. And pointed the gun at him. Another bang was heard but I couldn’t see clearly, my eyes were too blurry.

“Told you..” The guy said when I saw someone fell down and groaned in pain.

“Who in the earth are you?” Seungjoo’s father asked him.

“You don’t need to know, or else we’ll meet again.. But unfortunately we won’t meet again.. I think..” The guy said while taking the ring from him.

“Ah.. I forgot two things.. First, it’s true that the ring will choose the owner itself. And I choose your step brother instead of you.” The guy said as Seungjoo’s father remained silent.

“Second, don’t even lay a finger on that boy over there. At least until he’s eighteen.. If you did, the next bullet will land on your head.” The guy said again and walked up to me. He placed his right hand on my wound on my stomach. I could see clearly now as his image disappeared from my eyes.
