Author's Note: Sorry for my super late delay! ;~; Chemistry exams is bleh. Anyways, this took a while for me to write since it's one of the longest one shots I've written. I based this off of Baekhyun's answer of what Valentine's Day song he likes to listen to. I'll put the link soon so you can listen! ^^ I wonder if you guys can crack a pattern on how the order I'm writing the project ^^

“Happy Valentine’s Day, Jung Eunji,” Baekhyun grins as he sits on the couch with his girlfriend securely in his arms. He smiles brightly as presses his lips against her temples, Eunji’s gummy smile showing in the process. “Happy Valentine’s Day, Baekhyun. You enjoyed your chocolate, right?” She asks as she lifts her head to look up at him.

Deciding to be playful, Baekhyun shakes his head, “No, it was horrible.” He receives a gentle slap on his tummy by her, watching her scrunched up face. “I loved it,” He grins and plants another kiss on her cheek this time. “So, what are we going to do for the rest of tonight?” She asks curiously while laying her head on his shoulder.

“Hm, well, I have something in mind. Shall I sing my favorite Valentine’s Day song to you?” He asks as his grip around her waist tightens slightly. She nods as her eyes disappear into small crescents, “Of course. I’m curious on what it is.”

Baekhyun clears his throat as a satisfied smile spreads across his lips, “Well, my favorite song to listen to at this day is Lee Seokhoon’s 10 Reasons to Love You.” He pauses for a few moments before his silky voice starts to array in different notes. Just like the gentle wind, his singing flows gently through her ears.

“First, your heart, like a tree that give me rest” (Source)

“I lost in a singing competition,” Baekhyun’s voice cracks as he hangs his head down, letting out a puff of disappointed air. He couldn’t believe it. He’s been practicing 24/7, taking care of his voice, and expanding genres of every type of music. He somehow got into the last placers and he felt his heart shattering into a million pieces.

As Eunji lies down in bed, she blinks and sits up, patting the empty space beside her. Taking her offer, he slides into bed and lets out another disproved sigh, immediately wrapping his arms around her waist and laying his head on her shoulder. “I wonder if I was that bad,” He whispers as he closes his eyes, hiding his face in the crook of her neck. “Yah, don’t say that,” She retorts as she plays with his hair, looking at him, “You sing to me every night and I’ll tell you that I sleep peacefully and dream nicely because of that.”

The words that come out of sounded so sincere and truthful. He knew she had a heart that is loving and caring, making him feel at ease.

Boom! A loud explosion echoes through the apartment complex as Eunji scurries towards the kitchen to find her boyfriend covered in food. The night fell upon them and Baekhyun wanted to make a special dinner just for the both of them. However, it didn’t turn out right as the food started to build pressure and eventually blast onto his attire and face. He winces at his failed attempt and the hot food, sadly looking at his girlfriend, “I tried.”

Eunji looks at him and blinks, taking her finger and putting some of the sauce onto her hands, it off her finger. “Hm, you know, it’s actually not that bad!” Her smile brightly emits as her pearly white teeth shows, a few chuckles escaping here and there. Baekhyun couldn’t help but feel a little relieved; knowing that she thought it wasn’t so bad. He was reassured from her glowing smile like the night suddenly turned into day.

“Third, your hand, who keeps me in your arms every time it gets difficult, I love you” (Source)

Ending his song with a high note, Baekhyun stands in the middle of the room, waiting for his girlfriend’s reaction. He was scared if he was good enough for any type of competition. However, he had the drive to do his best and show his best impression to everyone. A huge clap and cheer is heard from Eunji as she stands up from the couch, “That was amazing! You hit that note perfectly this time!” She walks towards him and wraps her arms around his waist, hugging him tightly. Her embrace motivated Baekhyun even more as he feels her tenderness. “You really think I can do it?” He asks as he wraps his arms around her shoulders, looking at her.

“Of course! You’ll do great!” Eunji grins brightly as she hugs him even tighter. “I love you, Eunji. Thank you for always being there,” Baekhyun sighs in relief and lays his chin on top of her head.

“Fourth, your warmth, make my heart warm” (Source)

Closing the door behind her, Eunji yawns and places her bag down while making her way towards the kitchen to fix her some food. While preparing her food, a pair of arms snake around her petite waist while his chin lies on top of her shoulder. “Welcome home, Eunji,” His slightly tired voice whispers into her ear as Eunji freezes for a second, taking a deep breath.

“Yah, don’t do that! You know I can get a heart attack and maybe hurt you?” Eunji takes another breath, shaking her head. Baekhyun chuckles and pecks her cheek, “I know, but I’ll take it.” He continues to leave his arms around her waist while watching her make her food. Just having her in his arms made him feel cozy, his night turning out to be better than expected.

“Fifth, your tears, I’ve to work harder” (Source)

“Hey…” Eunji whispers as her head hangs down slightly as she enters the apartment. Baekhyun can feel the dark black aura surrounding her, almost reminding him of Sadako. “Eunji? What’s wrong?” He stands up from his work area while approaching her, feeling worried.

“I—‘” She pauses as tears down her face, soon hitting the floor. “I almost got fired,” She mumbles as she covers her face, shaking her head. His eyes widen as he quickly places his arm around her waist, another wiping her tears away gently. After explaining what happened, he couldn’t help but feel sympathetic for her. He knew that she was hard working and determined, but knowing that she almost got fired, Baekhyun knew he needed to try his best.

“You’ll always be a hard-working person. I believe you always do your very best,” He nods and pecks her forehead, rubbing her back soothingly.

“Sixth, your prayers, strengthen my drooping shoulder, I love you.” (Source)

Baekhyun shrugs as he lies in the hospital bed, playing games on his phone. It was lonely and quiet, his mood dropping little by little. Soon, a huge balloon comes into his vision as he glances at the door, seeing his girlfriend holding a huge balloon. “How are you feeling?” Eunji asks as she walks deeper into the room, tying the balloon by his bed. She sits on the chair, seeing his leg leveled up with a cast wrapped around.

“Bleh,” He sticks out his tongue and sighs, running his hand through his hair, “I can’t believe I’m clumsy. I always thought Kai or Suho was.” Eunji chuckles softly and grabs his hand, holding it tightly, “Just sleep well, alright?”

Knowing that she’s by his side, Baekhyun slowly falls asleep, holding her hand gently now. Eunji smiles gently as she looks at him, slowly pulling her hand away and getting on her knees, clasping her hands together. Dear Father, please heal Baekhyun into an even stronger man after his injury… She continues on with her prayer, closing her eyes gently.

“Seventh, your expressions, make the sulky me laugh” (Source)

“C’mon oppa! Cheer up!” Eunji smiles brightly as she sits by the kitchen table next to him. Baekhyun looks at her and sticks out his tongue slightly, “I hate Monday mornings.”

With a pout, Eunji sighs softly and lays an elbow on the table to cup her face. With a small pause, she looks at him and crosses her eyes and places her hands by her ears, wiggling her fingers, “Bleeeh.” A small pause enters as Baekhyun stares at her, a small chuckle escaping his lips. He wraps an arm around her shoulders and gently pecks her cheeks, shaking his head. “You’re too cute, Eunji.”

I arrived back at the hotel in Tokyo! I’ll see you in two days! –Eunjiji

Baekhyun smiles lightly at her text as he sighs softly, lying back in the couch. He purses his lips and presses the call button, pressing the phone against his ear. Soon, a slight ruffling is heard before her sweet (but yet a hint of her Busan accent) lingers through the call. “Baekhyun oppa?” She asks as a small yawn is audible.

“How’s Tokyo?” He asks as he takes a deep breath, hoping that she’s being safe. He knew long distances would help with their relationship and it’s been working as he’s missed her ever since the time she departure. After their conversation, his smile turns warm and fuzzy as their conversation goes on for the later hours.

“Ninth, your steps, everyday come to find the pitiful me” (Source)

She’ll almost be home. Baekhyun thinks as he sits on the couch, his eyes staring at an angle towards the door on the left of him. He couldn’t wait to hear that door click and open wide to reveal his girlfriend who would arrive back from Japan. His heart is beating quickly, anxiously waiting for her to come back and be in his arms.

Just as his thoughts could go any farther, the door opens slowly and a head with black bangs come into his vision. A huge smile spreads across his face, his pearly whites glowing. Eunji tiredly walks inside, her steps light as she walks towards him, “Baekhyun oppa…I’m home.”

“Welcome back,” Baekhyun smiles as each step she took made both of them even wanting more of their arms wrapped around each other. Soon, he pulls her onto the couch and into a deep embrace, hiding his face in her ear, “I missed you so much.”

Now, a few days later, it’s Valentine’s Day. Baekhyun continues singing his song, nearing towards the end.

“Tenth is the gift that is you

Ending his note, Baekhyun opens his eyes and looks at her, taking a deep breath. “Thank you, dongsaeng, for being there for me ever since day one of our meeting. You don’t have to give me anything for my birthday or anniversary as you are my only gift that will forever be mines. I love you.”
