Jaehwan had grown up in the valley, spent his whole life in the little village. He loved it, never thought about leaving even once. His mother had suggested once that leaving for school might be a good choice, that he might want to see the world and grow as a person. He’d brushed it off, assured her that he was happy here. The farthest he needed to go was to the beach. Maybe the nearby city if he could get a gig for his band.

And then the new farmer, Sanghyuk had come to town.

Sanghyuk had seen some of the world. He was so mature and knew what he wanted from his life. He got along great with Hongbin, the photographer who’d moved into a little cabin in the forest a few years prior, and Wonsik, a song writer who lived on the beach. Hakyeon might not be worldly, but he was super mature and had goals he was working towards. Taekwoon’s only experience outside the valley came from when he was a little kid, but he was working hard at the general store to earn enough money so that he could travel.

They were all worldly or mature, they were everything that Jaehwan realized he wasn’t.

Jaehwan……he wished that he was more like them.

Even when Sanghyuk seemed to return his interest, Jaehwan still wished that he was more like……anyone else.

A/N: actually had to re-write this one a couple times ‘cuz I couldn’t get a good idea working. But finally I got one when I was messing around in Stardew Valley. Freakin’ love that game so much.
