“Hakyeon,” Sanghyuk said, trying to keep his voice calm, “please get up.”

“I’m sorry,” the wolf-dog hybrid said, head bowed and Sanghyuk knew that he was on the edge of tears, “I’m sorry.”

“You didn’t do anything wrong,” Sanghyuk insisted, internally cursing Hakyeon’s original owner for beating behaviour like this into Hakyeon.

“I’m sorry,” Hakyeon repeated and Sanghyuk had a horrible feeling that he wasn’t in the present anymore.

All Sanghyuk could do was hug his friend until he finally cried himself to sleep. At least…..at least times like this weren’t common. Not anymore. When Hakyeon had first come to live with Sanghyuk, breakdowns like this happened almost every day. Sometimes they happened a couple times in one day. But Sanghyuk had gotten Hakyeon to talk to a doctor and things were better. He just wished that he never had to see Hakyeon cry like that.
