Hongbin scowled as he eyed his phone sitting on the coffee table, waiting for it to do something. Anything. Sanghyuk had promised to call him every night while the younger was away and thus far he’d kept his word. But now……now it was two hours past the time that Sanghyuk normally called and Hongbin was starting to get worried.

Why hadn’t his boyfriend called him?

Had something happened?

Was he hurt?

Or had Sanghyuk met someone else and realized that Hongbin wasn’t good enough for him? Never had been? Should Hongbin be expecting someone to come by to pick up all of Sanghyuk’s things? Remove every trace of Sanghyuk ever being there?

The sound of keys in the door startled Hongbin out of his spiraling thoughts.

“Sanghyuk!” Hongbin gasped when the younger man stepped through the door, rushing to hug him tightly, “what are you doing home?”

“The deal closed early,” Sanghyuk laughed, hugging back just as tightly, “so I got on the first flight home. Thought I’d surprise you.”

“I thought something was wrong when you didn’t call,” Hongbin admitted, fully relaxing for the first time since Sanghyuk left.

“Sorry,” Sanghyuk apologized, “I hope you didn’t worry too much.”

A/N: so, this might not totally fit the theme ‘message’ but it’s what popped into my head and I really liked it so *shrug*
