Sanghyuk bit his lip, desperately trying to hold back the sounds that wanted to slip out. He heard the door creak open and did his best to slow his breathing. The floor started to creak as someone walked into the room and Sanghyuk willed himself to stay still.

“Sanghyuk,” Hongbin called out, sounding close to tears, “I know you’re there. Come on, this isn’t funny anymore.”

“Alright,” Sanghyuk stood up, revealing his hiding place to his little brother, “alright, don’t cry. Here I am.”

“Why did you hide?” Hongbin pouted, “I just wanted to play with you.”

“I’m sorry,” Sanghyuk said, feeling genuinely bad for upsetting the younger boy, “I won’t try and hide again. Let’s go do what you wanted to do.”

“Ok,” Hongbin grinned brightly, the five year-old easily calmed by the idea of spending time with his beloved older brother.
