Hakyeon fiddled with his tie, trying to fix what he knew was perfectly fine. But it was just……he just……he wanted to look perfect. He was leaving in a few weeks, so this was going to be his last dinner date with Sanghyuk for a while. Actually, it was also their first. The pair had spent ages dancing around each other – literally and metaphorically – and now…….now they’d finally come out with their feelings. Finally admitted that there was more going on between them then just friendship, just a brotherhood forged by seven years in the same idol group.

It was just a shame it had to happen right as Hakyeon was going away for two years.

Hakyeon set about fixing his tie again.

He just wanted this date to be perfect. He wanted it to be memorable. He wanted this to stand out in Sanghyuk’s memory so that the younger man had something to hold onto when Hakyeon wasn’t there. And he wanted the memory to stand out within his own mind so that he had something to hold onto as well. Especially if he came back in two years to find that Sanghyuk’s feelings had faded. He wanted to remember this one date with perfect clarity in case the person he wanted more than anything decided they didn’t want him.

“You look great, hyung,” Sanghyuk smiled, grabbing Hakyeon’s hands.

“I just,” Hakyeon sighed, “I want this to be perfect.”

“It will be,” Sanghyuk assured him, “it already is. I can’t wait for more in two years.”

A/N: *sigh* I hope N’s two years are going ok. I know he’ll give it everything he has ‘cuz he’s just that kind of person. Maybe that’s why I’m kind of worried. I know he’ll push himself to do his best and he could get hurt as a result.
