Pairing: Hyuken
Word Count: 249
“Jaehwan,” his mother called, “aren’t you going to say goodbye to Sanghyuk?”
“No,” Jaehwan sulked, voice muffled by his pillow but still loud enough for his mother to hear, “I don’t wanna.”
“Sweetie,” she sighed, “he’s only moving to the other side of town. You’ll still get to see him.”
“But I won’t get to see him every day,” the six year old cried, “Sanghyuk won’t be right next door. I won’t be able to talk to him from my bedroom window. We won’t walk to school together anymore. We won’t even be at the same school!”
“Honey,” his mother didn’t know what to do to make her son happy.
“Jaehwan?” Sanghyuk’s voice suddenly called from the other side of the door, “are you there?”
Before Jaehwan could do anything, his mother had opened the door and ushered Sanghyuk inside.
“Hyukkie,” Jaehwan said, not at all wanting the other to see his tearstained face.
“You’re crying, aren’t you?” Sanghyuk frowned, moving to sit on the bed beside his friend and pulling Jaehwan into a sitting position so that he could wipe away the other’s tears.
“We aren’t going to be friends anymore,” Jaehwan said, tears starting anew.
“Who says?” Sanghyuk huffed.
“Hongbin,” Jaehwan said, scowling slightly as he thought of the little boy from across the road. Hongbin and Sanghyuk had never liked each other.
“Well he’s wrong,” Sanghyuk said, determination lighting up his eyes, “we’re best friends and we always will be.”
“Promise?” Jaehwan asked.
“Promise,” Sanghyuk grinned.
