“ULSAN!” Carolina shouts out towards the end of their [Black & White] performance. Just shouting out the name of the city they are in, fans are screaming their lungs out while waving their hands in the air as they have been doing since 5 Pieces started off the event.

Hannah gives a smile while dancing when hearing her friend shout out like she always loves to do. It is just the ending of the song and she dances the same dance as the other members. With the fans shouting so brightly the girls finishes off the song and for the final move the girls turns around with their backs against the audience, the music stopping. Hannah glances to her left where the others are and she starts to turn around along with them when they are going to greet the audience, and just at that moment when she starts to turn around the microphone comes to live in her hand – it flies away. Hannah gets a shocked face expression when seeing the microphone flying away from her and automatically she runs several meters to the back of the stage to pick it up; the microphone makes a sound when falling and since it is on it is heard through the loudspeakers and the fans are laughing when seeing how she cutely runs after the microphone and Emelia laughs with them. Hannah picks up the microphone and runs back to her place, apologizing and giving a slight bow before lowering her head and hiding her laugh behind her hand. Julia gives her arm a hug, laughing next to her.

5 Pieces is at the final event for ‘It Matters’, that today is taking place in Ulsan after that 5 Pieces earlier in the week went to Kwangju and the group will perform a total of seven songs (including Maria’s solo [Me, Myself & I] and Hannah’s solo [Butterfly]) like they have done for most of the events for ‘It Matters’ these past months. The event is to raise money and awareness of the charity project ‘It Matters’ that 5 Pieces have been helping out throughout the year, and before coming for this concert event today the girls were doing a photo session and fan-signing in the city for the charity project too. Early in the morning the girls pre-recorded their performance for Music Core, so the girls today have their fake tattoos again, though most of it is hidden under long sleeves and leggings. Maria who has hers on her thighs, has gotten to wear skinny jeans for today to cover it up, while Emelia who has hers going up her chest to her neck doesn’t really manage to hide it much.

 “Pieces of one,” Carolina cheerfully says when the group are doing their greeting, the group together saying; “hello, we are 5 Pieces!”

Hannah bows and she giggles with her head turned to her right at Julia who also giggles because of a female fan in the audience screaming louder than the rest and Hannah tries to melt that her microphone went flying away. Hannah throws her hair back over her shoulder when standing up straight and she holds the microphone nervously with both hands to her stomach, taking a deep breath out of habit rather than being tired from performing. Though the group have performed both [-erase you-] and [Black & White] in a row already, Hannah isn’t tired, maybe it could be because the girls are wearing sneakers instead of high heels, so it feels really easy to perform.

Fans are uncontrollably this week; they keep screaming and shouting and even when the girls aren’t performing like now the fans keeps making sounds over every single movement made on the stage. Hannah looks a little lightly to the right when Carolina is doing her individual greeting after that Maria and Emelia have done theirs, and Hannah looks at Julia when she does hers. When it’s Hannah’s turn, she puts the microphone to and looks out over the audience.

“Hello Ulsan, I’m 5 Pieces’ youngest member Hannah. Thank you all for coming here today!” she cheerfully greets and smiles widely over the shouting and she ends her greeting with a bow, again throwing her hair over her shoulder when standing up straight. She brightly waves to a fan, imitating the crazy waving of the fan while the others are talking about why they are here.

After a short talk, the girls get off the stage to let Maria perform her solo song, followed by Hannah performing hers and the group performs their LG commercial song [Panic] – that song is not sung live though – and when the fans thinks it is over, 5 Pieces performs [I Love You] and [Original] too. By that time the girls have gotten really warm in their clothes, dropping the long-sleeve cardigans and coats. Between one of the songs, Maria had put a hand on her hip and raised an eyebrow at the audience.

“Do you seriously think those tattoos are real?” she asked as fans have started to ask questions when seeing what the girls have on their wrists and arms and such. Emelia has gotten questions the whole day about hers on the neck. “Don’t be stupid. Fake tattoos are cooler because it doesn’t last for a lifetime, so there is no time to regret it.”

The audience seems to like that idea, and the grown-ups that probably have children of their own, seem very pleased to hear an idol tell their fans to not get real tattoos.

On Sunday, 5 Pieces is doing a pre-recording at Inkigayo in the morning for their [Daze] performance, and before leaving to go on their next schedule, Hannah gets to go on the side to do a video message. It is a message for their Japanese fans, as it was a year ago since 5 Pieces made their official Japanese debut, and Hannah does it alone to make it simple and in Japanese. Hannah is still in her performance outfits, the fake tattoos running up her arm with a buckle-detail top fitting her members. Hannah is making sounds and practicing, laughing with Manager Kim who is going to be the one filming with the simple camera. She jumps a few times on the place before placing her hair right and telling the manager to start filming.

The Japanese comes out pretty naturally for her, the cute magnae with fake tattoos.

“Hello, I’m 5 Pieces’ cute member, Hannah! How are you all doing?” she starts off and she holds her hands together by her stomach. “5 Pieces is busy promoting here in Korea but you all must have heard that 2013 will be the year 5 Pieces will meet most of you in Japan? I hope you have watched our teaser for the song [Sleeper] that just came out too, right? But that’s not why I’m sending a message to you all…! Today, on December 16, 2012, it has been a whole year since 5 Pieces made a debut in Japan! Yay!”

She stops to take a turn while dancing, happy and bright. Awkwardly she laughs when she has taken a turn though.

“I can’t believe how fast a year can go by… But we have done a lot this year and following next year we will create even more memories together, right? Thank you for supporting 5 Pieces, we are looking forward to meet everyone as soon as possible and we are also hoping you are all taking good care of yourselves in the winter weather; eat a lot of yummy food and stay warm…” Hannah ends with a smile, not knowing if she is done but ends up waving. “Merry Christmas! See you soon!”

Hannah returns to the dressing-room when she is done, seeing the others getting ready to leave.

“The filming of ‘A Good Cause’ will today takes place at the apartment, as you all have been informed about. We will head there now, so all you will do is to change clothes and fix your make-up. Is there anything you are missing at the apartment that we can buy on the way?” Manager Kim is informing and asking while waiting for the girls to get ready.

“I want cup noodles,” Carolina answers.

“No cup noodles,” their manager simply answers and Carolina looks surprised by the answer.

“It’s because you eat them after midnight,” Julia tells Carolina with a chuckle and Carolina grimaces, saying she gets hungry at night. They are making fun of her from that, saying her face is all round in the morning because of that. And with those words the girls leave the music station to go for some quickly grocery shopping where they buy some fruit and food and also some food they plan on letting the staff from KBS eat while they are filming.

Coming home, the girls are getting dressed and changed and prepares for the filming along with the small KBS staff that is there today. The only focus is in the living-room, where they have moved around the furniture to give sitting space, and before filming everyone is chatting and having fun. It takes time before they will start to film. Manager Lim is there too, observing it all. Their kitten Ace isn’t interested at all in the guests, but he is interested in the cameras and one of the ladies or their managers keeps coming to take him to one of the bedrooms, to keep him out from where they will film.

“I’m going crazy…” Hannah sighs and lies tiredly down over her bed in her bedroom.

“It’ll go well,” Maria is telling her, patting her on the leg. When today’s schedule is over, Hannah will head to the airport to then head to Sweden for a few days. She has been trying to pack, and to bring as little luggage as possible she has decided to bring just three changes of clothes with her and without having much more of her own things, the other members on the other hand have asked her to bring things to their families – like Christmas presents and such. “You know, you are still welcomed to sleep over at my family during your stay in Sweden. So you don’t have to stay at a hotel, I mean.”

“I’m fine staying at the hotel,” Hannah reassures her friend. They have talked about this many times. By hearing about Hannah going to Sweden for a few days, not just Maria’s family said she could sleep over at their house when hearing Hannah will stay at a hotel, also Julia’s and Emelia’s parents have sent a message saying Hannah is always invited to their homes too.

Maria looks at the door to Hannah’s bedroom that carefully has been closed. They can hear the noise outside, and Maria looks back at Hannah. “What if you don’t go? You will just be reminded of things you don’t like or things you miss…” Maria says in a low voice. She can’t understand what it would be like to go home without really going home, just to sell most of your things.

“Do you know what I have there?” Hannah asks, standing up to move some clothes. “I have the very first autograph I got from DBSK there. I have to get some things, some things I can’t leave… I hope mom didn’t sell those things.”

“The precious things you can’t live with,” Maria laughs and it knocks on the door for the ladies to gather. “We’re coming! Then Hannah, I have only one request of you for this trip of yours: be free. And with that I mean, don’t stress and just have fun. Molly said you can go visit her at work whenever you want, mom and dad said you can come over too. Just … don’t forget that, okay?”

Hannah smiles and when rounding the bed to head out of the room, she gives Maria a hug. Hannah hasn’t told her members, but she sees this trip as a final closure of her home in Sweden. It will always be the place she grew up and met her friends and where her childhood is, but after this trip it won’t longer be a home for her. She doesn’t have a family to return to. Instead, the people she has gotten to learn in Korea are the family she will return to – manager Lim, her members, Hyekyung and Yong Hyun, cute little Kyung Ho and the SM family, Jonghyun… – that is the family that she cares about and that cares for her.

The group sits down on the floor in the living-room, sitting with the windows behind them where the curtains have been pulled down. To get the right mood, the lightning is low in the room and each girl is holding a candle-tight. Of course Emelia ruined the mood by saying it reminds her of Lucia (when you in a train of people walk in a line after Lucia on December 13 with a candlelight in your hand, singing), so the girls can’t stop laughing over that and it seriously ruins the mood so much that the filming doesn’t begin in a while for them to calm down. Though even when the cameras starts rolling, Hannah giggles quietly for herself. She doesn’t make a single sound but she is laughing behind her hand and she has to lean a little behind Carolina to calm herself.

“We have reached episode nine in ‘A Good Cause’,” Maria says for the opening and the girls claps their hands lightly, “and today we are sitting at the floor … with a dim light and candles… What’s that about?”

“It’s Christmas!” Carolina cheers and Emelia leans back to take out something, and putting in front of them on the floor a tiny Christmas tree. The group has actually decorated the apartment to get the Christmas feeling, and the tiny Christmas tree is part of the decoration. Emelia’s favourite thing. They keep it on the floor in front of them and just after Emelia put it out, Carolina started to sing some Christmas song and the other girls follows along cheerfully until Emelia interrupts to say they must look scary in the light. Maria keeps singing happily though to finish the part of the song even when the others stops, Carolina is about to continue when Maria shakes her head at her, saying it is no good idea. When this episode airs, it is a few days after Christmas, so it’s no awkwardness at all talking about Christmas that is a week from now.

“And it’s New Year soon too,” Julia says when everyone have calmed down from the singing and Christmas spirit.

*Happy New Year~ Happy New Year~* the girls are fast to start singing. That’s the only part they all know so they starts to laugh when it gets quiet after that part.

“With 2012 coming to an end, are there some things you are happy you have done this year?” Maria asks the ladies.

“I really think we did a great job when we were preparing food with the ajummas for charity. When we stood outside and served food. There were a lot of fun people there,” Carolina is answering and she is putting her hands together with her elbows pointing out at Hannah and Maria sitting next to her. Maria pushes her elbow, but she agrees on that it was something new to serve food like that.

“There came a lot of people,” Hannah says in a low voice and nods, looking at the Christmas tree decoration in front of them. Julia smiles next to her over Hannah’s Korean, as she is supposed to say ‘it came a lot of people’, not ‘there came’.

“I personally like when we were baby-sitting. Kids love me,” Emelia says, filled with confidence though the other girls say the kids didn’t love her. Hannah smiles when hearing the ladies commenting on that, and she grimaces when Julia says she remembers Hannah failing at math the most at that time. They are making fun of her for that, Emelia even saying ‘4x5?’ for Hannah to answer though the girl is at that time busy telling Carolina that she isn’t much better.

“Going to the countryside is what I am the most happy about,” Hannah then brings up when they have stopped making fun of her and Carolina for not being so good at math. “The fresh air and everyone knew each other were really different from what we usually see.”

“Ah, that was also a good experience,” Carolina says and smiles by the memory.

“Thanks to ‘A Good Cause’ we have been able to meet a lot of people of different ages. We have helped them, maybe with something small, but it still felt good to see how happy they were when we helped with such a small task,” Maria is saying in a low voice.

The atmosphere is soft, their voices are soft in the dim light and the mood is really fitting with the candles. It feels good to sit down and talk about the memories of ‘A Good Cause’ with her members; it makes Hannah not having to think about going to Sweden. She sits and listens to them talking more deeply about the experiences of helping people, how they have met a lot of people and the things they have done; laundry, baby-sitting, baking, even cooking… ‘A Good Cause’ has really let them do a lot of good causes, and that is basically what they sit and talk about. When this episode airs it will reveal some never-seen clips from the episodes that have showed 1-8. In the middle of the talking, Ace comes walking up between 5 Pieces and the cameras. Carolina, who was the one talking at that time, continues to talk without being disturbed even when Maria leans down to the floor and hits the floor to try make Ace come up to her but their kitten is ignorant and he lies down in the middle of the floor and rolls around a little, stretching out and from the others’ view it looks like he is really showing off himself in front of the cameras.

Hannah laughs, knowing that even Carolina is distracted because exactly everyone else is it but Carolina keeps talking and she sighs because no one pays attention to her. Ace rolls around some more, and Hannah crawls out on her four to push the kitten closer to her, so she can pick him up and keep him in her lap. He just wants some attention. Hannah lowers her head as much as she can when she tries to hold in the laughter over how Ace managed to distract everyone, and Julia pushes her arm when Hannah’s shoulders are shaking from holding in the laughter. Ace has lied down comfortably in Hannah’s tailor-sitting legs, stretching out a paw and looking up at Hannah whose hair falls down on him when she is leaning her head down. The others continue to talk though, not caring about the kitten now because he isn’t in the way or anything now.

When Ace is too bored of being in front of the camera he walks off just as casually as he had come and Hannah looks after him to make sure he doesn’t go in front of the staff. She is just a little slightly distracted at that part, but then nods when listening to the others talking again.

Maria is sitting by the laptop and laughing loudly for herself. No one else seems to care; Hannah is cleaning up in the kitchen while the others are watching TV. They are taking it easy now after the filming and Maria’s loud laughter says that she wants attention, but everyone is too tired to even ask what she is laughing over. Hannah is waiting for Manager Lee to come pick her up so they can head to the airport; he will come along to Sweden with her.

Their leader has actually been going through tumblr, like always watching the latest about their own group. She had found a video of a fan-cam filming from yesterday’s event in Ulsan, and it had caught Julia trying to take her cardigan off in the middle of a performance but it got stuck in her wrist, so the video is hilarious for Maria to watch. And whenever her face gets seen she laughs again and says she looks awesome. But just that one video makes Maria go in on YouTube to search for “5 Pieces mistakes” and right away it comes out around 2000 videos. Hoping she is not one of them fans sees makes the most mistakes; she clicks on the first video that says “5 Pieces’ 2012 live mistakes/incidents/funny Part 1”. Maria senses something is wrong with three things; it says ‘2012’ on the video, and also ‘part 1’ and the video is around nine minutes long. To put those three things together doesn’t make sense to her, but then she looks up and sees Carolina laughing to something funny on the TV and she realises the video could be of just Carolina’s mistakes this year – it could definitely fill up more than one video.

Maria starts the video, the same headline above the video showed on the video with a moving background that is a fan-cam taken from their Moon Child concert of Hannah and Maria hugging and twirling around before they let go of each other to run different directions on the stage and Maria almost runs in Carolina who had been hurrying to come join them a little late.

‘Who has the best balance?’ the text then shows before the clips are starting to be revealed one after one. Obviously when first thinking of balance in 5 Pieces, Hannah definitely has the worse balance, but Maria knows that there are times when not just Hannah has trouble with the balance – especially not when wearing heels. And the first clip shown is a fan-camera taken of one of their [Black & White] performances when 5 Pieces in the end turns with their backs against the audience for the ending pose, and you can clearly see that one person is starting to tilt to the side; Julia. The next clip is of Maria taking a position and she moves her foot to keep her balance, followed by two clips of Hannah first when performing her solo song [I CRY] and looking a little unsteady and then of her during their [-erase you-] performance and she is dancing on the side when suddenly her foot gets thrown out as she nearly falls without any big reason. Another clip is also of Hannah, who in the middle of the performance starts to lean on the side and she puts her hand on Carolina to not fall. Maria just can’t stop laughing when seeing how randomly Hannah just leans all the time, and then Carolina didn’t seem to feel Hannah leaning on her to keep herself up either. It’s actually not that many clips at all… But the video is far from over;

‘Microphones…’ the text comes up and starts showing a clip when Carolina drops the microphone while dancing and she picks it up and continues to perform with the expression as if nothing happened and then it is a close-up fan-cam taken from some SM Town concert of Maria who finishes singing her part when her microphone starts to slip out of her grip and she tries to catch it with her left hand, then with the right hand and then with the left hand until it falls off the stage and a staff gets it for her… Hannah appears in the next clip, almost dropping the microphone in a performance but she manages to hug it to her chest with her arms instead, followed by a clip of Hannah again, though this time she actually drops the microphone and she is fast to bend down and pick it up. One clip is of Julia bumping in Maria so Maria drops the microphone; then Carolina is doing some trick with the microphone to not loose it; then from some rehearsal (apparently for SM Town) Carolina is so into dancing that her hand hits Hannah’s microphone that basically flies away so Hannah laughs when she goes to get it; then at some recording for their [Black & White] already for the beginning when Julia almost drops the microphone and Hannah looks to be showing off that boxing wrap the blonde girl is wearing as if saying “this makes me not drop the microphone” (Maria knows that is what happened because she remember watching the recording later and Hannah was so proud over that the boxing wraps made it easier for her to not drop the microphone). Also a clip of Maria’s microphone receiver box that normally is stuck at the back, in this clips it drops and hangs down, though Maria like a professional picks it up and holds it in her hand.

‘Positions…’ is like a big question-mark for Maria until the first clip after the word shows. In the middle of a song, you can see 5 Pieces change their formation and Julia walks right instead of left so Carolina pushes her to the left, then another clip of Emelia giving Maria a look and you can see on their faces that they are having this battle telling each other ‘you should take a step to the side’ - ‘no you should’. Then Maria is in one performance taking a step back, ending up bumping in on Hannah and both of them laughs at it, another clip is of Emelia being at the front but when her part is over she goes to the right and she gets in front of Hannah so Emelia takes three steps to the left to take her right position instead, then in another clip Emelia again is taking the wrong position but this time she is stubborn and you can see how she mouths to Carolina that it is her place. A clip of Emelia taking Hannah’s spot again is from the same song and part like it was two clips ago, though this time Emelia motions for Hannah to move. Maria is loudly laughing because it is not just the mistakes that are fun but also the reactions of the members. Whenever Hannah is visibly on the camera and she mostly notices when someone does a mistake, she can’t stop smiling, and Maria now watching what mistakes they all do she can’t stop laughing over it. The last clip of that is hilariously taken from a concert of Julia running from one side to another, and because you can see the whole thing from a distance it looks really fun.

‘Slips and falls…’ is probably Maria’s favourite, because she is part of it a lot but not among those that falls. Clips of Carolina falling is probably the most clips, then it is a really cute clip from one of their SM Town concerts where it was raining and both Hannah and Julia slips almost at the same time and their reaction is hilarious when they look at each other.

The whole video ends with some ‘extra’ clip, according to the one who made the video, and it is a fan-camera taken from an event 5 Pieces did a few weeks ago when all of a sudden the music stopped and the girls looked all confused but after a few seconds of looking confused they continued to dance and sing without music, though Maria remembers that they did start over from the beginning when the music was working again.

Instead of watching part two of this video, Maria notices something else on the suggestions that she starts to watch instead. It is a fan-cam taken at some SM Town concert ending, and the reason Maria watches it is because it is a fan-cam focused on Maria. And Maria is Maria; she is first walking with her arm around EXO Lay and Luhan’s shoulders, walking like a boss between them and when seeing Shindong walking in their direction she takes down her hands to start pretending being a rapper while approaching him and he is doing the same thing to her. When continuing to walk she takes her arm around Luhan’s shoulders again, this time only walking with him and with some fans screaming next to them she leans towards Luhan so much that he almost looses his balance – she does it to joke with the fans screaming on that side – and Luhan is just laughing and being adorable. The two of them are a few meters later walking by SNSD’s Yuri, and the camera very clearly captures Maria patting her . Yuri laughs when seeing who it was and she jumps after them to pat Maria’s . And the video ends with that…

“I am totally awesome, you all know that, right?” Maria randomly asks out to her members, and once again she doesn’t get a response.
