Emelia’s mother wouldn’t leave her alone if you can remember? ^^, But then again she did take that ‘lonely walk’ as she called it, but I just think that is what she likes to do…”

Hannah moves her hands together in front of her, slowly up and down along with her breathing; calming her self after talking to not just the doctor but also with the group’s trainer who both have been giving her advice and some worrying glances. She is styled up and fixed for the concert opening that is nearing, and she need to control her breathing as she is feeling pain in her back from the pressure of doing well today. She shakes her hands, looking up in the ceiling with eyes constantly moving and she feels the trainer’s rough hands on her hip to press his thumbs on her back from behind. It’s impossible to not grimace and groan; the trainer has a lot of strength and he presses on the right spots, almost making her loose her breath.

It is the trainer who for 5 Pieces’ second album had made them get in shape; Kim Sung Joong. Rough and big, he has appeared many times since last summer, making the girls train and make sure they are on a diet. They never are on a diet, and Hannah rarely goes on the trainings because of her schedule or just the fact that she has her own Park Hyun trainer.

Everyone is preparing for the concert. Fans are gathering, the press-conference and interviews are all done and now is the final time before the concert will begin. Hannah wants to cry because her back is again aching and she wants to do so well today, and seeing her members being just as nervous isn’t making it better. But she has the energy. She knows she will have it for the whole concert because there is no way she can get up on the stage and not feel like there will come an ending; she will enjoy the stage for full.

“5 Pieces,” a voice says by the door and the girls start to bow when seeing who is standing there. Its Super Junior’s Leeteuk, waving with a smile to everyone in the room and looking in behind him is Shindong. Leeteuk looks like a senior when he puts his hand on Maria’s shoulder. “Remember to talk a lot. How are you feeling?”

“Like fainting,” Maria honestly answers with a deep breath.

“It will go well. You have done it for a year already,” Leeteuk says trustworthy while patting her on the arm, nodding to Carolina who comes over to them by the door. “Did you get my text before?”

Both girls’ nods, looking like rookies next to Leeteuk. Nervous rookies, taking on the stage for the first time and having eyes filled with hope to get good advice from the people they look up at. Celebrities – idols, actors/actresses, comedians and even models – have been rumoured to be sitting in the audience for these two last concerts. Some of the friends have come backstage to greet the girls before taking their seats, and SM family such as f(x) and EXO have also made a brief visit backstage. SNSD members are there too; they have texted their support to 5 Pieces, promising to come backstage afterwards. Listening to advice from their seniors makes the girls remember to think of certain things they could’ve forgotten otherwise, and they are really happy to see the many people who have come. Today too they are filming for the reality program, the girls showing a better attitude than yesterday. The rehearsal they did during the day went better than yesterday, though there were some disagreements, it ended well and they are now ready for the actual concert.

Hannah hurries by the camera filming backstage, after her members to the source of the loud foreign voices.

“Hello!” Melissa Allen greets friendly, her American accent filling the corridor and she looks so pretty and happy seeing the girls coming out to greet her. “You all look so amazing!”

“Thank you! I thought you were coming on tomorrow’s concert?” Emelia says in her cool English, getting a hug from the producer and song-writer when greeting her.

“Ah, I know, but I couldn’t just do anything else while knowing I would miss such a big event. And my schedule was changed tomorrow, so I can only come to the after party, sorry.” She greets all members with a hug, telling them how beautiful they look. They take a picture together before parting, 5 Pieces heading back inside the room to put on the in-ear and get ready.

Members of Super Junior keep lurking around, giving advices back and forth. Siwon appears too, apologizing for being late and he hugs the girls and wishes them good luck and saying he is praying for their successful concert. The way Carolina had before been hugging f(x)’s Sulli like crazy, Maria hugs SHINee’s Minho. Minho and Onew – the only SHINee members that won’t participate in the concert – arrived after Siwon and makes a brief appearance backstage to wish everyone good luck. Before they will go up on the stage, Maria grabs everyone to gather around in a circle. Because the members of SHINee, Super Junior, Alexander and Jungmo also are present and the dancers, they stand in a big circle outside the dressing room.

“5 Pieces 1st Concert Tour ‘Moon Child’ is coming to an end,” Maria starts off. “I want to thank everyone for this amazing tour together; all the hard work everyone has put in it and that we only have two concert left makes me a little sad in the eye, but as we keep saying ‘this is the end of the beginning’ I am looking forward to the time we will start a second tour. Let’s all do our best today, don’t hurt your self and have a lot of fun, use up all energy you have and even more than that. And before we start, I have no idea of how we will do our cheer since I can’t even see my ladies in this crowd…”

“Just do as you normally do,” Leeteuk says from behind.

“Okay… you all agree on that?”

“Yes.”

“Who are we?” Maria simply asks.

“5 Pieces!” everyone answers; cheering and some laughing because of Maria’s tone.

“WHO ARE WE?!” Maria bursts out; getting the energy from hearing the many voices say their name.

“5 PIECES!” they shout and hands flies up in the air around in the circle. The mood is great now.

When heading up to take their positions, the girls are getting patted on the shoulder and backs, doing high fives and such with those standing on the side. The members of Super Junior are still there, only going to take their seats in the audience when the ladies have taken their seats. The seniors wanted to be there until the very last second, to make sure 5 Pieces go up on the stage with confidence. After succeeding, they go to sit down.

Hannah is standing there, closing her eyes when hearing the crowd cheer at the opening video. She holds on to the microphone tight, breathing in and out, hearing the cheers of the people who have come to watch the almost last concert of this tour.

[Original], the song that is said to be the song that gave way for 5 Pieces in K-Pop. After struggling for two years, 5 Pieces came out with the song that is all about being yourself and be proud of who you are. It has been the best song for their opening this year, for 5 Pieces appearance. It is a song that speaks what 5 Pieces stands for and they can hear the audience sing along while performing it charismatically. The next songs are performed charismatically too, and then it is the greeting. Out of breath and trying to capture exactly everything they feel and sees and hears; Hannah guess she looks to be nervous the way she looks around over the audience while fiddling with her microphone.

For some reason she gives a bow after the greetings when they are starting with the next song. She smiles over her own mistake of bowing as if she was going to leave the stage when she in fact is performing another song. They are all less nervous now when standing on the stage compared to when they had been waiting backstage; now while facing the overwhelmed audience of fans singing along and screaming the girls gets only more and more excited for the songs they will perform, excited to show off the songs they have released for the past four years.

Maria performs [Me, Myself & I], being her crazy self to her own song. The audience sings loudly to it, screaming more and somewhere in the audience is BoA senior happily watching when Carolina and Julia performs [My Name] – BoA’s song. Hannah’s [Endless Love] with Taemin goes well, the two of them have performed before and they have practiced, so there is no awkwardness there.

Hannah’s next solo is after [Give Back] which features Eunhyuk and Donghae. The two gets loud screams and Hannah even sees a fan crying in the audience – if it is because Carolina just touched her hand or that Donghae comes jogging by Hannah, she doesn’t know. But the next song is one of the songs she thinks is very special for this concert. It is the only place she has gotten to perform her own real solo song; the only concert. [Burning] goes well, Hannah performing well and when Alexander appears on the stage she thinks her ears are going to burst from the deafening shouting from the audience. It’s almost that she forgets the concept of the song when walking out on the smaller stage with him and the dancers, waving to the audience around. Fans had seen Alexander write on twitter “going for a rehearsal today, I am so excited! Will let you know what it is for later ;)” and had made fans all curious of what he was preparing, so the audience got probably a huge shock to see him appear at the concert. Because the audience too have kind of hoped that Alexander would get to perform the song with Hannah, and with the final two concerts coming up most fans had probably forgotten about it. It is a big surprise. When the song comes to an end, Hannah puts her arm around Alexander and he puts his around her, both of them together bowing forward to the audience before she gives him a hug, the audience screaming so loudly. She is happy to see him look happy, performing together for the first time in two years.

She doesn’t want the concert to end. She runs around on the stage; in the middle of [Wanna Be] towards the end of the concert she keeps smiling and running around but she wipes away tears in the time too. Fans that sees it screams at her to not cry and she smiles and waves at them. She smiles when Carolina keeps doing her unnecessary adlibs, a weird habit that she has and that Hannah never will understand and she smiles when seeing the many fans being touched differently for the different songs – from ballads to pop and other.

The encore is more focused on having fun than remembering that it is the last weekend of their tour. The girls does everything they can to make it a memorable for the fans. Maria even takes someone’s camera, filming or taking pictures of herself before giving it back to the crying fan; Carolina does some of her overly cute actions; Hannah waves and tries to shake hands with fans; Julia runs around and pretends she is waving to every single fan in the audience and Emelia is stopping to give poses from time to time. They have fun, they have a blast and they are lingering on the final words and hesitate before finally saying goodbye and heading off the stage.

Coming off the stage, Hannah lets a staff take the microphone and on the way to the dressing room she is bowing and saying the polite phrase that everyone has worked hard, following her members examples before her. They are getting applauses from the dancers and others waiting backstage and everyone is telling everyone they have worked hard and such.

Jungmo, who has helped them out with the band performance and also like always featuring at Emelia’s solo rock performance, gives each girl hug with a satisfied smile and he tells them while nodding they all did well today. He is standing with the girls’ managers and stylists so he was like in the mix of the hugging there and when Hannah has hugged everyone and said they have worked hard, she turns to the forever following doctor who helps her to sit down correctly for her to get some help with her acing back. All members of 5 Pieces get some moments to calm down from the concert, as it is not easy to perform for three hours like this. All of them sits down or walk around in the room, chatting lightly to get to know each other’s thoughts of the concert – if they did mistakes and what they did well, some fun things to point out and just simply to say they are tired.

Hannah is standing up, unable to sit still for long, and she is calming down from the ending. She didn’t really cry at the ending (she didn’t want to cry), but she looks exhausted and she is taking slow in breaths to let it out fast, her eyes half-closed. She smiles when seeing someone walk by outside the room, waving to another person while the ‘Life of Pieces’ camera-man approaches her from between. Hannah is using a tissue to remove the sweat from her neck when being asked if she has any thoughts of today’s concert.

“Leaving the stage was hard,” she admits and releases a sigh of disappointment in that. “I regret several of things from the concert, but I think … it couldn’t have been better. Our fans were active from beginning to end and … ah … they make it worth to pull through every song. They make it easier because we keep hearing them cheer. I had a blast today.”

She finishes with a smile, looking to the side at Onew who has come inside the room, and he looks like he hadn’t seen her standing there – she had been hidden behind the camera and camera-man – and he gives her a wide smile, asking how she is feeling now.

After finishing up backstage, Maria is standing in front of the ‘Life of Pieces’ outside in the corridor, leaning tiredly against the wall and waiting for the others to come so they can leave.

“The concert has ended,” she is slowly saying, looking tired and seeming to be distracted as she is seeing if the others are coming, “and we will now go home and sleep and gather strength for tomorrow’s concert. We did the encore two times today because … we didn’t want it to end and the encore chanting was really loud. But … tomorrow, is the last day. Sadly. And … we will do our best tomorrow too. Goodnight.”

The day’s rehearsals for the last – the final – day of 5 Pieces’ Moon Child concert tour 2012 goes by too fast. Manager Lim’s wife shows up with some snacks while Puzzle fan-club had served them with lunch and though Maria is constantly eating, she is also constantly saying she is hungry – even after eating. The rehearsal is nerve-wracking, but they seem to cam down when they have gotten dressed and changed and are doing interviewers about the concert and the year. They do a lot of interviews, some short while others longer. All about the concert and their tour that has been going on for the past ten months – only good memories comes up through the interviews.

Getting ready for the concert today, Hannah knows there will be celebrities like yesterday in the audience. For some reason she isn’t bothered by that; she is more nervous for the fans that aren’t known in the media. The reason for that could be that at yesterday’s concert she saw there were a lot of fans from other countries; some had written signs like ‘we love you - Indonesia’ and such (that is how she knows they come from other countries), and some were totally foreigners like Europeans with fair skin and blonde hair. That all those people have come to Korea – have paid to go to the concert – makes her really nervous to do well today.

The concert starts. 5 Pieces taking on the stage like they have done the whole year; charismatically performing the songs, shouting and jumping to make the audience more excited and thinking there is no tomorrow.

Sweating and laughing in a big mix and the reason their hearts can feel so light at the concert is just because the sight in front of them is so beautiful. At the January concert, their first concert in Seoul, Carolina had mentioned the purple ocean that the fans created in the gymnasium hall, saying it was so beautiful. Every concert has been beautiful that way. How everyone seemed to become one, how the music brought people together. The colour of your skin and eyes, your religion and country, your differences from each other – none of that mattered at the concert. At every concert, the ladies could feel that music isn’t categorized in any of that. Music maybe is categorized in pop and rock and all those things, but in the end, music brings out a meaning, and it is the meaning that all these people from all around the world have come to 5 Pieces concert that makes it so special to perform. Five girls from Sweden, performing songs in Korean; four years ago, didn’t that seem completely foolish and idiotic?

Now, it is said to have opened the doors to a lot of people.

“5 Pieces’ first solo concert Moon Child 2012,” Maria is breathing out when they have all gathered on the main stage at the end. The last song has been sung, the very last song of this concert tour, has come to an end. “Our last concert of this tour … has it been fun?!”

The audience cries and screams loudly, everyone knowing it is coming to an end. Maria smiles with tearful eyes; the same kind of smile that a mother can have when watching her first born child achieving a dream they both have shared. A smile of gratitude. They performed [Original] at the end too for the encore as no one seems to have the ending. But they can’t avoid it forever, and they are now standing at the main stage, ready to say their last words with the dancers and guest performers around them. Maria has thought so much of a speech to say at the final concert, something to say that can show how thankful 5 Pieces is for this concert tour. Hannah is biting her lip while looking around over the hall; the hall that is filled with fans that have come to see them.

“For today’s and yesterday’s concert, we have gotten some extra help to fill out some of the songs,” Julia is saying and glancing around to see if anyone is on the stage. “We would want to thank the on stage help from Alexander, SHINee’s Taemin, Jonghyun and Key, also Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Donghae, TraX’s Jungmo. Also our dancers that have filled out the stage with us.”

Those on the stage applauses between her words, Carolina jokingly bow to those on the stage while clapping, the audience clapping their hands too.

“We have gone through a total of fourteen concerts of Moon Child this year, and there are a lot of people we would want to thank for that,” Maria says and the girls are helping out to mention staff, directors, SM staff, their stylists for the great hair, make-up and outfits, the lightning, sound and everything, thanking some of the idols that have helped out too. It takes time to thank everyone, but the girls seem to be able to do it. Maria starts to cry halfway when she mentions their managers, Julia sobbing when the audience shouts for them to not cry and Hannah standing and grimacing to try not to cry.

“And finally…” Emelia says, turning to her members, getting quiet, and she smirks to the audience that screams at how cool she is. “You thought we had forgotten you, didn’t you?”

“Puzzle!” Carolina shouts out and Hannah smiles so all her teeth are visible when the whole hall is filled with the noise of their fans by the joke.

“Without all of you!” Julia shouts with all her might, “We wouldn’t be able to meet like this! Thank you!”

“Thank you!” Hannah repeats happily to their fans.

“Because we have had concerts in a lot of new cities and countries and … places,” Maria says and swallows her tears, “I think we should thank all the fans that have come to our concerts in different languages. Who wants to start?”

“我们要感谢大家来到我们的演唱会！” Emelia bursts out with a hand in the air, her Chinese skills flowing out and the audience cheers like crazy.

“Thank you all for coming to our first ‘Moon Child’ concert!” Julia is fast to follow in English. Hannah looks confused, not knowing if they are supposed to say in each a different language (that could’ve been the reason two of them were fast to say  something) and when she meets Maria’s eyes the leader points at her.

“You speak in Japanese. Thank our fans,” she waves at Hannah.

“Um … 今年私たちのコンサートに来ていただきありがとうございます！私たちはすぐにまた会いましょう！” Hannah thanks in Japanese; thanking fans for coming to this year’s concerts and saying she wants us to meet soon again. She gives a cheerful wave with her hand when getting a response from the fans.

“I didn’t hear my name,” Maria mentions, Hannah looking confused again. “You didn’t say anything about me?”

“I talked about the concerts…”

Maria grimaces of disappointment but turns to Carolina on the other side. “You use some language too. Say in Swedish then I’ll take Korean.”

“Why do you decide that?” Carolina complains and the audience screams because … this is 5 Pieces.

“Because she is the captain,” Hannah answers and she smiles cutely when Maria gives her what she calls “bro-fist”. Carolina tries to give a pout before taking a step forward to the fans.

“Vår Moon Child resa har varit underbar och vi hoppas kunna få träffa er fans och många fler i ännu en tour så småningom. Tack så mycket för att ni kom och varit med i vår journey!” Carolina cheers, her voices going up and down in tones and she ends with a cute tone and bows before waving and taking a step back.

Maria is now left, speaking in Korean; “I just want to say that I love everyone who have helped us out with this concert tour, all the staff and friends, our families and our fans worldwide. It has been an experience we will never forget and we hope you have all had as much fun as we have had. As some of you might know, we are releasing our third album this Wednesday -” she gives a short pause as the fans are shouting wildly by the announcement, “- so though this is the end of our tour, it is the beginning of another chapter that we would like to share with everyone. It has already been four years since 5 Pieces came to Korea, next month it will be four years since our official debut, so I would want to thank everyone who have been with us this time and shared our journey through this Moon Child concert tour.”

She takes down the microphone, turning her head to the side at where Hannah and Julia are standing, and Hannah smiles tearfully when seeing the leader is crying. Maria has this amazing thing that even when she is crying she is able to talk as if she isn’t at times, her voice is just very emotional. Hannah takes her hand on Maria’s wrist, as if that touch is telling her it is okay to cry. Maria knows it is okay, she just wants to say her things while she remembers them. Seeing Hannah and Julia on that side makes the tears just flood down and she must lower her head to take away the tears; the audience screaming and Carolina stepping forward to wipe away the tears with her towel around her neck. Hannah has removed her hand and is carefully wiping away her own tears of happiness. Julia holds her arm, saying in the microphone that having everyone telling them not to cry makes her very happy, receiving a wild cheer.

Maria manages to gather herself a little, raising her hand for silence around.

“In six years,” she starts off saying dramatically, “I promise,” she gives another pause because of the tears, “5 Pieces will stand on this stage, with our fans surrounding us. And we will celebrate our 10 year anniversary.”

If fans have before been screaming with all their might during the concert, at fan service and at the unbelievable high notes Maria can pull off, it is absolutely nothing compared to how they screams their lungs and hearts out by those words. The way Maria said it, sincerely promising fans that 5 Pieces will not fail them even after ten years, makes every lady start to cry. Carolina and Emelia who both had cried earlier during the songs, are now crying too, and Hannah who already was crying cries even more. Julia is the first to do it; she puts an arm around Hannah and moves them closer to give a group hug. While they just thought of giving each other a simple hug, the moment they embrace each other, they can hear their fans chanting;

“Our Love; 5 Pieces! Our Original; 5 Pieces!” and during that part it had been hard to hear what they were saying but the whole hall in chorus beautifully said out; “you can’t finish the puzzle without one piece!”

It’s the words that Emelia once came up with. The words they have been using to stick together and having as a promise to their fans, something that fans have taken seriously and constantly using. Hannah loves that sentence. Not because she always understand the meaning of it, but because just that sentence was always used between the members and even with their fans whenever they had a hard time. In 2009 when 5 Pieces had to face antis in the middle of a performance, they could hear their fans call out somewhere in the audience ‘you can’t finish the puzzle without one piece’. A lot of people might think the puzzle only have five pieces – therefore 5 Pieces – but Emelia once explained it well by saying there is a sixth piece too in the middle of the puzzle that is the most important piece; their fans. Fans had gone insane hearing the explanation, and it seemed that afterwards that sentence was used with a different meaning. Fans appreciated that 5 Pieces did not forget them, not even when creating the group name.
