Chapter 17

Youngest of Pieces - [Black & White] (7)

The music that has been blasting inside the room on repeat is finally paused and when the teacher tells them to take a break, everyone falls down on the floor from exhaustion. The practice room is hot from the hours of practice, it stinks sweat from all the dancers and the ladies who are drowning in it. Hannah lies down on her back on the cold floor, at first bending her back up from the floor to not let it be straight as that hurts after all dancing. Sweat is running down her face, through her already half drowned hair. She is wearing a pair of leggings and a long top, her back aching uncomfortably and her legs being numb. Maria is lying on the floor next to her, both of them breathing heavily and sweating like everyone else in the room.

Practicing the choreography for their new song [Black & White] is not easy. Today is the last day before they tomorrow will start the music video filming, and that means today is not a day to slack off.

“Does it hurt a lot?” Maria asks, stretching out her long and slim body over the floor. She feels like her body can fall asleep on the cold floor anytime now, but she is longing to crawl in her bed and hug her pillow Jared and sleep deeply. Just the thought of it makes it hard to keep her eyes open, yet she manages to look at Hannah.

Hannah looks up over the floor at Maria who has a tired, exhausted and worried face expression. Hannah shakes her head. “Not that much.” The group gets more breaks than usual during practice, all because of Hannah. They need to make sure she doesn’t get too exhausted, and though she is exhausted now and drenched in sweat, it is not to the extreme as it would be if they didn’t take these short breaks all the time. Hannah normally isn’t the kind who likes to take breaks, she rather wants to work nonstop in case that can make her end earlier, but she has started to like this system of dancing and dancing, then taking a break, continuing with dancing and dancing, taking another break and continuing like this. The other members like it a lot, and they too don’t get as tired as they would’ve been if they had practiced nonstop with just a simple break.

That might be weird, since all of them are so exhausted and covered in sweat now. The cameras filming for their reality show ‘Life of Pieces’ is capturing the tiredness of the girls in preparations for their comeback, and like always, 5 Pieces is their usual selves. Cameras or not, the girls are the same. They just avoid talking about certain topics, as they need to keep some things in private too. Maria made sure no camera was filming them when she asked Hannah if it hurts; Maria may be a foolish leader many times, but she do know how to handle private things. The world does not know of Hannah’s situation, and it shall stay that way.

One of the dancers hands over a bottle of water to Maria, who sits up to drink. It is a funny picture, the practice room now. Everyone is spreading out in the room, lying or sitting around, looking exhausted and catching their breaths. Hannah is sure that the cameras catch the comedic side to this. Just as everyone is starting to calm down, they get up to continue practicing.

Hannah stretches when getting up, taking her position without a word. She glances to her right, seeing the others taking their positions too, smiling when seeing Carolina standing way too much at the front that one of the dancers reminds her to back. The choreography for this song is pretty intense and strong, with direct and precise movements. It has been difficult to get in the correct synch, but after days and hours of practicing, they all know the choreography and small details of the dance and are able to match their movements better than usually. When the music starts, everyone moves as they have practiced. Focused on the mirror reflection and each other’s positions, Carolina gets fascinated when seeing how everyone seem to move together as one for some of the choreography. They might look exhausted and their movement isn’t as amazing as it had been at the beginning of the practice, but with everyone’s hard-working expressions and movements they still manages to make the song and practice look worthy to be shown on stage. Everyone is more familiar with what to do now, where the others positions are is easier to remember after countless times of practicing; practice makes perfect.

The final practice ends with satisfaction and exhaustion. Though the ladies are exhausted from top to toe, drained of energy and feel they can fall asleep any second now, they are satisfied and think all they need is some hours of sleep before they are ready to take on the music video filming. Knowing they can’t make the choreography much better for now, they will still do their best tomorrow and for the upcoming days they will film the video.

Julia comes jogging up to the camera-man filming, looking totally opposite from how she had looked last night after practice as she now is styled from top to toe. When coming close enough she is throwing a first covered in something black; pretending to give the camera a punch. She jumps on the spot, her fist up by her chest and she keeps smiling. She seems to be in a good mood, her both fists wrapped up in black boxing tape; wearing a dark two-toned hooded drawstring-waist jacket, a steel blue tank top and a pair of black pants, her hair that is longer down at the front and goes up at the neck has been styled coolly to be shaped like straws of hair from the crown of her hair pulled forward to her eyes. Julia takes down her fists, continuing to smile. The smile does not fit with the tough and charismatic look she has gotten, but she keeps smiling happily.

“We are at the jacket shooting for 5 Pieces third album,” Julia says and she happily jumps by herself, glancing around to see if anyone saw it. No one seems to take notice of her; beside from the camera-man filming her. “This style is … 5 Pieces’ version of boxing. I think it’s supposed to be. It looks good, doesn’t it? Our first time having this kind of concept; it’s exciting and even if I just before was really tired, I am filled with energy now.”

Hannah walks by, not seeing the camera but just thinking Julia is talking to a staff, and she tells Julia that they are starting.

All five members have about the same clothes that Julia is wearing. The hooded drawstring-waist jacket is the same for each member; it’s the rest of the clothes that is different. Hannah is wearing a black tank top, having a medium purple ribbon wrapped around her waistline like a wide waist belt, the ribbon making it looking extremely cool even if it is hard to breathe in. And she is also wearing a pair of leather pants – shocking, but true, and she is so happy it is only for the jacket shoot. But it definitely looks amazing; the fitting and rocking outfit with the loose jacket over and black boxing tape around her fists, and her blonde hair with white ends has gotten some extra thin red locks under the first layer of hair. Hannah stands with her hands on her waist, keeping her back straight and kind of breathing in, uncomfortable in the tight outfit but she is focused and serious. The eye make-up is serious; like the medium purple on the ribbon around her waistline the colour of the eyeshadow is in different shades of the medium purple colour to give an intense look of a boxer and the eyeshadow has been made back in a < shape from her eye, as if it is created from speed. That was at least what the make-up artist said. An extreme look. Julia has it too, but in her steel blue colour.

The background for the shooting is in white, lamps shining it up in a blinding colour and getting up to stand in front of it is Julia and Hannah – just these two. They look scary when standing there without doing anything while waiting to start, Hannah with her hands on her waist and Julia on the tape wrapped around her fist.

When starting the shooting, Hannah and Julia get to take pictures while facing each other. Their dark contrast to the bright white background ends up shining great in the pictures and they poses while pretending to throw their fists towards each other, having fun with that. They actually pretends to hit each other on the cheek – lightly to not ruin the make-up – and Julia jokes with the staff by saying Hannah is the member she never would want to get in a fist fight with. Hannah is just smiling when Julia says that, and the reason is because Hannah has been taught how to fight.

“I’m a fighter,” Hannah jokes and puts up her fists to her chest and bounces lightly while focusing her eyes on Julia. She stretches out her right fist slowly, not reaching all the way to Julia, and she then smiles and stands up straight to get another touch on the make-up before they continues.

For the solo part with the white background, Hannah stands there with her fists close to her chin and face, focusing her eyes on something beyond the camera that is up close to her face now. She doesn’t dare to move too much in these clothes, but she can move her arms and upper body simply, so she is just stiff in the lower part. After throwing a fist across to the other side of the camera, almost hiding her face from the shot, she gives a shout – at first she had just pretended to be shouting as it is the face expression the photographer wants but that didn’t seem to work as the photographer asked her to actually shout as if she is going to punch someone. The photographer instead captures Hannah laughing and she apologizes.

Changing place with Julia, Hannah is standing on the side to watch. Again she is standing with her hands on her waist to keep her back up; all because the clothes are so fitting. According to the stylist, these clothes show perfectly Hannah’s body shape the best way, and she isn’t even revealing any skin. A making of camera approaches her from the side, the camera-man asking her what she thinks of the concept for this album. Hannah looks a little surprised to be approached, and she had been focusing on Julia who is starting her solo shooting.

“I like it,” Hannah answers and looks at the camera-man. “It is a tough concept, which we are pretty used to, but this kind of outfit and the boxing theme is new … I really like it. The clothes are really cool and uncomfortable, ha-ha, but the pictures end up cool.”

She turns her body a little more towards the camera when being asked what the concept for her outfit is and if she is a fighter.

“I am a fighter,” Hannah answers and takes a step back to show her outfit, giving an embarrassing laugh as she hugs the jacket closer around her to not show the fitting outfit. Instead she turns the focus on her hair and make-up. “I coloured my hair brown before. Now I am back to blonde, with these … extra colour details. I think it looks good. And the eye make-up… its extreme, isn’t it?” Hannah has leaned forward to show the camera her make-up. “First time having this much. But … each member has her own colour. Julia has… some blue colour.”

Hannah turns to look at Julia posing and getting directives.

The other members make their appearance too. Maria with her long body has gotten to wear a fitting mini gold coloured dress, being in the need of wearing a pair of mini shorts too. Her legs are stunning in the over-knee black high heel boots, looking like she is ready to get up on the catwalk with the extremely long body and probably for the first time her hair has been styled wavy – it is unlike Maria’s usual straight hair and it fits her like everything else does. Carolina’s dark brown hair with highlights is at this shooting in hot pink instead of the usual green that she has had before and the hair has been styled to look to be a thumb length thicker at the end. Her make-up colour is hot pink too, which is the colour of her body fitting top and the matching fitting skirt, a pair of black tights to cover up her legs. She looks stunningly amazing in her favourite colour, somehow managing to melt in with the other members’ colours. Emelia is wearing a khaki green tank top, having a cardigan in a darker green colour over before she has the drawstring-waist jacket at top, a pair of black lace-up skinny jeans fitting her thin legs.

They take pictures with the bright white background, showing of their boxing side in stunning outfits and looks; both solo and group pictures. It looks really cool with the bright background, as if the girls are shining in their tough yet y looks. Hannah stands on the very left, the girls having their usual positions. They pose simply, practically just standing there and looking good. Emelia turns to stand sideway, facing Carolina on her left, putting her chin up a little to give off attitude. They get to look at the pictures they have taken, giving each other advices and suggestions before they get up to take more pictures, this time reminding each other of what they had talked about when seeing the pictures. It turns out better now when they know what the others are doing; the photographer more satisfied too. They take pictures about the same with a black background too, having smoke rising up around them and also standing with their backs towards the photographer to take some cool back-side photos too – it is for the album cover, they are told.

Changing into white outfits, in the dressing-room, Carolina is making everyone laugh by trying to imitate Maria’s way to say “oh, my, GOSH!” that had been heard a few minutes earlier. Only the staff laughs, Hannah standing and watching her with a smile that doesn’t really show if she is amused because the imitation is good or just because she thinks it’s silly. The cameras are capturing it well, as Carolina started only when seeing the camera filming them. A lot of the stylists and staff in the room are laughing at Carolina. Emelia makes everyone seriously burst out laughing by stepping forward, over-doing an imitation of Carolina’s part in [I Love You]. Maria’s laugh is definitely heard from the mirror and Carolina gives out a “heeeeey” sound and she gives a pout while Emelia gives her a smirk.

The white outfits are being photographed with the black background. The girls doing just as great as in the black outfits – Hannah just seriously awkward wearing white as it is the colour she never wears unless it is for the stage.

After being done with that, they change to look more like street fighters with white boxing wraps with this new outfit looking dirty. Their outfits isn’t alike – everyone having an individual style for the concept – but all of them have been touched with some mud on the clothes and on the skin and Emelia shows off for the camera a particular detail with a line by her cheek that she says is a sign of fighting. Their hairs look dusty and a little messier and the surrounding is another part of the building, just that part has been styled up to look like a dirty warehouse. The members take more solo shoots there with the different part of the background; sitting down by a pillar is Maria; sitting and standing from time to time by some old metal safe box is Hannah; sitting with legs out wide and then standing with the jacket over the arm is Emelia; sitting on some stone table with planks and rags is Julia and then Carolina is sitting by some window – all of them giving these cool poses that they think matches with the concept and that the photographer says matches the concept – and after all the solo shooting they all stand together to take group shoots with the stone background.

The pictures come out perfectly for the album. The reason they take so many pictures is because it is for two albums; their third full length album [Black & White] as well as the international single for just [Black & White].

At the actual music video filming, the girls are filled with energy; excited to film the music video. Hannah and Carolina are practicing the choreography on the set, repeating the same part over and over again to make sure they do it together. The set is a typical set for a music video for an SM artist; big with one colour and all lamps shining and making the set looking really amazing. The two girls who yet are the only two standing ready on the prepared set, continues to practice with the next part of the choreography when Hannah out of nowhere bursts out laughing and falls down to her heels, squatting and looking up at Carolina while continuing to laugh behind her hand. The reason for her laugh is because Carolina is doing some weird thing with her neck when coming to a certain part in the choreography.

“You better not do that when we are dancing,” Maria steps up with a warning point at Carolina who stops dancing.

“What? I was taught it that way!” Carolina grimaces as the other members comes up too; Julia having the stylist following her to make sure the hair won’t move a single inch when they will dance. Hannah stands up, stepping a few steps back to get ready for the filming to begin.

“That was NOT what we were taught,” Maria tells Carolina, giving her a pair of raised eyebrows look. “You got some problem, girl.”

“I got no problem, captain.”

“You do have a problem,” Julia butts in and she laughs when Carolina looks sadly at her. Julia just smiles sweetly, showing Carolina that she is just joking, and all five girls look to the side when their dance teacher calls for Pieces’ attention. They go through the choreography all five together before starting to film the dance scene. Dancing the song from beginning to end, looking cool for the camera filming them for the music video.

In the middle of the third try, Maria stumbles over the foot of one of the dancers and she takes several half-falling steps forward with waving arms trying to catch her balance, ending up falling forward on her hands and knees. The camera stops, the dancers stops, the members stops; everyone heads towards the one who fell and stylists hurries on her side to make sure she didn’t ruin her outfits. Maria gives out a disappointed cry when getting help to stand up.

“This idiotic heel,” she mutters and looks over the stylist’s head at Hannah who asks if she is okay. The stylist is bending forward to make sure the high heels aren’t ruined anywhere, in case they have to change them, but it seems the only damage was that they will have to retake the shot from the beginning. Maria had told Hannah she is okay, giving her a pat on the shoulder as if it was Hannah who made a mistake – Hannah knows Maria just gives her a pat to tell her they should continue. Like the good leader she is, Maria shows a good example by apologizing for the staff since they have to do a re-take. Emelia makes fun of the fall by showing Maria how she looked like for everyone else – arms waving in the air and that body moving strangely in the panic of falling. Maria just throws her hair at Emelia. “Jealous of my style, short-leg?”

“Stick insect,” Emelia mutters with small eyes focused on Maria who stares back at her. Before they can start with their bad-names-competition the director says they will start over again. The two girls give each other a final stare when taking their positions.

Sweating after another two times dancing the full song, the girls is standing on the side and getting the sweat wiped away and a fixing touch on the make-up. The concept of [Black & White] is just as the jacket shoot; Hannah has her left hand in a boxing wrap, not the right hand though. Dancing this kind of dance in high heels is tough, but to not ruin the heels they are wearing boots with thicker heels or wedge boots. And the heels aren’t that tall either; 6,5cm or … well, a little tall on 11cm. But the 11cm heels are for the wedge boots, so they are still easier to wear and easier to keep the balance in. To one of the making-of cameras, Maria is getting to explain during the touch-up about her love for the shoes for the concept. Every kind of shoe with heels is Maria’s love – she can soon get a full wardrobe filled with all the shoes she has at the apartment. The girls are also going through the lyrics, and the making of camera catches up that it is not Korean lyrics they are practicing.

“We will release an English version too,” Julia answers when being asked. She is being dabbed with a napkin on her neck by a stylist, so she is leaning her head back a little, though that doesn’t seem to disturb her from talking. “Since we have been replaying the Korean version so many times now when filming, we need to remember the English version before filming it.”

In the background at the end of her talking, you can hear Carolina and Emelia practicing the English chorus of the song. Maria smiles and tells the girls to do well when they head back up to take on the hit spotlight of the music video filming.

They manage to finish off filming at the first set without too much distraction or accidents, getting ready to do the solo parts. Solo parts always mean two things; sleep and observe. If you are up first to do the solo part – in this case like Maria – you do your filming and go to sleep after giving some encourage to the next person; the second person up would by then have observed the first person to get inspiration. The ones in the middle get to rest a little first – in this case it is Carolina, and she pretends to be observing while waiting for her turn when in fact she is almost snoring from sleeping – and the very last person normally gets the chance to rest the most as there are four people filming before, but since this person is Hannah, she observes a little of each members’ filming in a try to support and also get inspiration, and when she isn’t there she is in the dressing-room, getting a little rest, writing down notes, listening to other conversations…

“Perfection!”

“I love this.”

Hannah looks up from the paper she is scribbling down notes for her writing on; watching Emelia and stylist Yong Hyun look through some of the pictures they have taken. For each new outfit for a new music video, they take a full shot picture of it in the dressing-room like some kind of memory for both the stylist and the ladies. For the stylist to know if the clothes will be used in a performance and also to remember the greatness of the outfits the girls pulls off. Yong Hyun has a full book that he puts these kinds of pictures in, and he loves that the girls are doing friendly expression in some pictures too. Hannah smiles when seeing how absorbed the two of them are in the pictures. After that Emelia had done her shooting after Maria, she took some pictures with her own big camera; her private behind the scenes. It would be fun to look through all of Emelia’s pictures from backstage and from gatherings and it would be a huge mess it just a few of the wrong pictures were shown to the public. Pictures of the girls hugging guys; especially Maria, who can hug and kiss probably anyone she is close to. She would definitely be seen as a player in Korea with those pictures, though it is Maria’s way to show friendship.

“Hannah,” the newest stylist Chan Hyo waves to the youngest to get ready for her part. Hannah puts away her notes in her bag, heading to the new stylist that she yet haven’t really gotten to like much for some reason, getting ready to for her solo filming.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Chan Hyo. She likes to gossip and always appears to be quietly listening to everyone else, being close to Julia and out of nowhere coming out with weird suggestions of a new look or outfit. She had wanted Hannah to wear some strange revealing outfit for this comeback, revealing her stomach more than what she had done in her [Butterfly] solo, and just by hearing of it Hannah had looked like she was going to panic. Lucky her; no one else liked the idea and the stylist had gotten disappointed by that no one wanted the best body to be showed off. Yong Hyun had told her off by saying a great body should not be revealed too much; the fitting clothes that is chosen leaves a lot for imagination, but leaves no disappointment for the fans. Hannah loves their male stylist for not letting her wear such revealing clothes, though she is still a little uncomfortable wearing fitting outfits. She feels like she should cover up her body.

The solo scene outfit is the same outfit she had worn for the dance; all girls wear the same black and white inspired outfit from the first dance scene with the solo scene. Hannah has a black and white two-tone vest and a pair of two toned leggings that also are black and white, along with a pair of black wedge boots. Her arms maybe are revealed, but that’s okay, and Hannah’s attention is either way on her legs. She loves the fact that her vest is white at the front and black at the back while the leggings are white at the back and black at the front. It looks so cool in the mirror.

Hannah steps out to the set, watching Julia shooting her part. Carolina is also standing there, watching and doing the thumbs up whenever Julia looks their way. There are cameras filming behind the scenes, for their ‘Life of Pieces’ reality program, then for some entertainment news programs and also for their special album DVD. Hannah pretends to not see when one of these camera-men is filming them from a distance. Carolina, on the other hand, notices quickly that it isn’t even a staff from Asia – making her curious to find out what that camera-man is filming for. The camera-man notices her glancing at him, so he steps forward, as if her noticing him was a cue for him to approach them. He asks Carolina (Hannah in the background is still pretending to not have seen the camera-man) in Swedish how she thinks the filming is going. He had earlier slightly interviewed Emelia during Carolina’s filming, so Emelia has said why they are here and promoted the song well.

“All Pieces are doing well. First off; all Pieces look dazzling in the new concept, and secondly; the song is really good. No wonder we are doing well…” Carolina is proudly, slightly boasting in Swedish. Hannah gives a glance over Carolina’s shoulder at the camera-man, focusing on Julia again. “After Julia, only Hannah is left. I will watch over her like a hawk.”

Hannah smiles when hearing her name, putting her chin on Carolina’s shoulder to look cutely at the camera-man. Carolina glances at her and looks like she wants to pinch the younger girl’s cheeks. ”Carolina will fall asleep before it’s my turn,” Hannah says and lifts up her head to look directly at Carolina from the side, “give me some advice. How can I do my part well?”

Carolina shines up when hearing Hannah wanting help; especially in front of the camera. She is almost getting taller in the happiness when turning to Hannah. “First off you must be yourself. Be gorgeous like you always are, and be confident, and your lip-synching is good… Actually, I should have given Julia some advice before she started…”

Hannah laughs and gives her a friendly hug by the final comment; Carolina simply means that Julia isn’t as good as Hannah. Hannah is actually good at lip-synching, and that is probably the only thing Hannah does better than Julia who is currently doing the English version.

“Practice my English,” Hannah comes to her own conclusion and walks away without another word. She has to practice lip-synching for the English version, as she knows the Korean version already. She just has the time to go get her lyrics paper from the dressing-room when it is her turn. Lucky Hannah, first up is the Korean version, so she is more comfortable with that.

Every member has the same background for the solo filming, since they will do a more individual solo filming later with another background and outfits – this is the first solo scene. Hannah, out of habit, shakes her hands when she is about to start, shaking away the nervousness all the way to her fingertips and out from her body through there. Her filming goes well. The other members who are watching gives her some cheers between the filming just to make Hannah embarrassed, but the magnae still does well once the music is on and she is looking at the camera right in front of her. Because of the strong light focused on her, it is difficult to see anything that exist behind the camera; the staff and everyone else.

Hannah’s first part in [Black & White] is right before the first chorus, the same part that they all have been excited to do; her punch and side kick dance. Hannah does it now too, alone without any dancers; it probably doesn’t look as cool with the side kick without the dancers following with a different move, but her left hand punch straight to the right will definitely look good as on the second try the camera zooms in on her. She gets to film for the chorus and other parts too, feeling awkward but getting help from both the director and her members. Maria who has been sleeping until now comes to see the last part of Hannah’s solo filming, quietly sitting and watching so when Hannah is done she can say that she sat in the back and watched everything the whole time. Hannah knows she was sleeping, but she is in a good mood so she just nods, pretending to believe their leader.

After the solo scenes, still in their black and white outfits, the group sits down for interviews. Korean interviews, Swedish greetings, English interviews and Japanese greetings. On just the greetings it is just short greeting and introduction for the foreign staff that have been filming ‘making of [Black & White] MV’.

Carolina starts off saying; “Hello viewers, we are pieces of one-” and the whole group in chorus greets with “5 Pieces.” Sitting in their usual order; Hannah on the very left with Julia on her right, followed by Carolina in the middle, Emelia and Maria. All five are wearing a black and white two-toned vest; all but Maria has it closed. Maria has a black fitting sleeveless dress under the vest and over-the-knee high boots in white, and she is definitely looking stunning in it. Emelia next to her is wearing a pair of lace-up detail black skinny jeans to the vest; Carolina has a short pleated skirt in black with lace details under in white (looking so amazing on her, not ty but just surprisingly amazing) and Julia is wearing a pair of white jeans.

“We are at the music video filming of our new album,” Carolina says and the girls cheers and claps their hands; Emelia doing some hand movement from the choreography. “For our title track [Black & White] we worked with the famous song-writer and producer, Melissa Allen. And she was just as excited as we were to work together, right?”

Hannah nods while she can hear Maria say “yeah” in agreement. Carolina sitting in the middle often gets to say the most, and she likes to say the most too.

“She said that she felt it was a song fitting for 5 Pieces,” Maria mentions.

“The song [Black & White] is an electro pop song that we think you will find it as a tough and y song that you easily want to dance along to. There are a lot of points in the dance moves too… what is there?” Carolina says in her MC-tone and she looks at her members to get help with the suggestion. “The first point I can think of is in the chorus where we are singing that we want to run, run, run, run…”

“Ah,” Emelia remembers and gets up from her seat to demonstrate. “It’s pretty cool actually.”

“It’s almost like we are trying to run but backwards, but we stay on the same place,” Carolina explains. Emelia waits until they count down and the four girls sitting down starts to sing the chorus *I just want to run, run, run, run, run, run* while Emelia dances; her body is facing right and she is dancing as if she is running but instead of having her feet going back, they go to the front, gliding on the floor a little and she has to lean back a little to not loose balance. Everyone dances the same. On the final *run* she leans a little more back while turning her body towards the camera, bending her knees a little as if she is going to fall, and instead of continuing with the dance, she stops, stands up straight and claps her hands with the others for the good demonstrate.

“There is also my favourite part, in the beginning,” Maria starts to say when Emelia has sat down, “where I make even move to the sides with just a few arm movements. Watch out for that.” She flirts with the camera.

“There is another big point in the dance too,” Julia says, looking at the members on her right as if they have forgotten the most important thing. Maria claps her hands together once, as if she just remembered it, and she pushes Emelia on the shoulder to tell her to show that part too. Emelia gives her a glare and a push back, but still ends up standing as she doesn’t want to miss another chance to have the main attention.

They also talk about the songs in the album; Maria saying the group has been practicing and working hard to be able to show more improved styles and that once again Carolina has written the Korean lyrics for the song [Take the Key] – she has written the lyrics before for their first mini album and second full-length album too. There was a song Emelia helped out to write with Jo Insuk, but that song will be in the repacked album, so they don’t mention it now. “But it somehow still feels as a more personal story in this album,” Carolina says. “Beside from that we have worked hard to improve ourselves, I think our teamwork has improved quite a lot for this album. First off we are promoting more than one song for this comeback, two different kinds of styles, and the choreography for the songs I think we will be able to show a new side that we haven’t been able to show before.”

“This album is a little more mature, I think. We haven’t had a y concept yet, but this comeback is showing the strong, y feminine side of us. With these outfits we still have the tough image of 5 Pieces, we have just added a little more matureness in it,” Maria says. Hannah is suddenly looking like a question-mark – matureness?

“There is no such thing as matureness,” Emelia sighs.

“Sure there is,” Maria simply smiles at the camera. She then looks at Emelia without that smile. “It does, right?”

They continue with the interview, not coming up with new words but promoting their new song and new album – though the interviews won’t be aired until the album is released.
