His Jealousy Is Off The Roof!

Something Called Love...

“Yah, hurry up!” Ayumi yelled from the door while slipping on her shoes.

Her cousin came running out with a roll of unsliced kimbap in his hands. He was munching on probably his third or fourth helping of breakfast like a corndog while slipping on his own shoes. She sighed heavily at the scene. No, Shim Changmin didn’t wake up late that morning. He was rather early. It was the few helpings of breakfast that made him late. Sure he missed his mother’s cooking, but his eating habits never changed anywhere he goes.

“Remind me again, why do I have to bring you along?” Ayumi asked, pressing the button on the elevator.

After a few seconds, the elevator arrived and they stepped in. Changmin was still busy on his breakfast to answer her. She gave him an irritated look which he complied.

“It’s about time I officially introduce myself to her,” he simply replied. Bits of kimbap were flying everywhere as he spoke.

“Eww, that’s gross!” Ayumi squealed, flailing her arms everywhere to get rid of the food from her clothes as he smirked in return.

“I’ve always knew she had a crush on me. But she doesn’t have the guts to approach me,” he smirked to himself proudly. “So, it’s better if I make the move right?” he asked.

“Yah, haven’t I told you not to mess with her?” Ayumi yelped, slapping his arm as they arrived at the parking space.

The death eater just ignored her and continued munching on his food. By the time they got to his car, he already finished the food in his hands. With Ayumi’s directions, he swiftly drove the car to the Jungs, unaware of the truth he might be revealed to.

Ji Eun was busy scanning many cookbooks in the kitchen when her mother-in-law approached. Jung Misun noticed her daughter-in-law was very busy since morning, it seemed like she was expecting someone over to the house.

“Is  someone coming over Ji Eun-ah?” Misun asked, peeking at the cookbook from behind her.

Ji Eun stopped what she was doing and turned to face her, “Oh omma, Ayumi’s coming. She’s my best friend,” she simply replied.

“The one who became the bridesmaid?” Misun guessed and she nodded. “I love that bubbly girl. She’s so cheerful,” she commented.

“Ayumi has been my friend since kindergarten. She knows everything about me and I treasure her a lot,” Ji Eun explained.

“It’s good to have a friend like that. So, what are you cooking?” she asked.

Ji Eun just sighed and shrugged her shoulders. “I don’t know, but Ayumi said I have to cook a lot. Maybe she brought someone else with her,”

“Let me help,” Misun offered as they go through the cookbooks together.

Yunho’s face lit up in excitement as he stepped into his house after a long day at work. He decided to come home earlier, possibly spending more time with his beloved. He was expecting his wife to attack him suddenly with a ‘welcome home’ hug or possibly, a kiss. Err, maybe he’s thinking too far. A warm smile from her and a greeting would be enough though.

Instead of those, he received a series of laughters and giggles coming from dining room. One of them, sounded much like his wife and mother. He reached the dining room to be greeted with the sight of his family and two guests. He recognized the first guest, but what took his attention was the guy sitting across from his wife at the table. He looked… suspicious.

Yunho tried to attract the attention from the group of people by clearing his throat and walking over to them. The four turned their heads at the voice, three of them was smiling at him while one stared at him indifferently. The two men locked gazes for a few seconds.

“Oppa, you’re home!” Ji Eun greeted smiling brightly at the sight of her husband.

Yunho smiled back and sat on the chair beside her while giving her a peck on the cheek. She blushed at the public display of affection, especially since they were having guests at the moment. Ayumi smiled at the sight while Changmin stared at them, slightly confused.

“Who are they?” Yunho immediately proposed the question, staring at the boy in front of his wife.

“You remember Ayumi right? And this is her cousin Changmin-sshi,” Ji Eun introduced, blushing slightly when Changmin was mentioned.

Yunho noticed the blush as he stood up to shake hands with the boy, “Shim Changmin-imnida,” he introduced.

“Jung Yunho-imnida,” her husband simply replied.

Changmin froze when his name was mentioned, their hands were still holding onto each other. He widened his eyes and pointed at the gentleman in front of him. Yunho raised his eyebrows in confusion, slightly annoyed at the finger pointing at him.

“I’m sorry, is something wrong?” Yunho asked, pulling his hand away and sitting back down again.

Changmin was still standing in that position when he stuttered, “Y-you’re The Jung Yunho right? Korea’s top CEO and also one of the best in Asia?” he asked.

Yunho stared back at him, slightly puzzled at how he should react. “Err… y-yes?” he replied, unsure, though what Changmin said was a hundred percent true.

Before Changmin could say another word, Ayumi pulled him to sit down back again. She whispered something in his ear which sounded something like don’t embarrass her in front of the Jungs. Ji Eun stared back and forth from her husband to her crush, full of curiosity.

“Do you know him Changmin-sshi?” she asked as Yunho stared at her, feeling slightly hurt with only the title ‘him’ given by her.

The tall boy nodded confidently, “He’s like a sunbae to me. I’m a major in business and Yunho-sshi is like an idol to me in the business world. A young but successful CEO. It’s really a pleasure to meet you,” Changmin complimented.

Yunho’s mouth curved into a proud smile after hearing the compliment. He never knew anyone would idolize him. He cleared his throat and straightened his business suit, trying to make a good impression to his fellow hoobae. Misun chuckled at her son while his wife still had the confused look on her face.

“Shouldn’t we start eating? I’m hungry already,” Ayumi interrupted. Ji Eun nodded and headed to the kitchen to get the food she prepared.

As soon as she walked in with the food, two stomachs were churning at the delicious smell wafting through the air. Yunho and Changmin were swallowing on their saliva as Ji Eun placed the cake she made on the table. It was Yunho’s favourite and as for Changmin, being a monster eater, anything looks delicious to him.

Ji Eun cut the first big slice from the cake and put it on the plate. Yunho’s big smile turned into a frown when she handed the plate to Changmin. She cut a few more slices and gave them to Ayumi and Misun first before handing one to Yunho. He stared at his plate and glanced over at Changmin’s.

He made a face to himself, comparing the size of the cake he received with the one on Changmin’s plate. It was his favourite, yet the guest was the first on to get it. On top of that, Changmin got the biggest slice. Nobody noticed the sour expression on his face as he slowly ate the cake.

Everyone seemed to have fun talking and telling jokes. Yunho would occasionally smile or nodded at them. His eyes were fixed on Ji Eun and Changmin’s interaction the intire time. His wife looked like she was having a lot of fun with him, she would agree to everything he said and giggle at all his jokes. He also noticed the blush on her cheeks every now and then when Changmin talked to her.

It seemed like Yunho was being ignored by his own wife. He couldn’t help but to feel jealous when she served Changmin food or drinks. When he asked for them, Ji Eun would comply but she didn’t even look at his face.

“Ji Eun-ah, can I have another slice too?” Yunho asked, handing his plate to his wife.

She took it and gave him a slice, all the while chatting with Changmin. Yunho tried everything he could to shift her attention to him, but none seemed to really work more than a few seconds.

He decided to try another strategy. “I want that one too…” he whined, showing the best baby voice he could muster.

Well, that didn’t seem to work. Misun and Ayumi stared at Yunho’s sudden change of attitude, noticing why he acted like that. He was obviously jealous at the attention given by his wife to Changmin. Misun kept staring in amusement while Ayumi chuckled to herself.

Yearning for more attention, he started calling her nickname, “Baby, can I have my coffee please?” he asked, holding onto her hand.

With that statement, both Ji Eun and Changmin turned their attention to him. She served him while Changmin stared curiously at Yunho, hearing him calling Ji Eun ‘baby’. Yunho grinned widely when she served him and was about to ask for another slice of cake when he saw none of it. Unfortunately, Changmin had finished all of them. He gritted his teeth while mumbling incoherently under his breath, so that no one can hear him. He was imagining himself knocking Changmin in the head, just because he finished his favourite cake. After a few moments of silence, Changmin decided to speak.

“Uhm, can I ask something?” he proposed. “What’s Yunho-sshi’s relation to Ji Eun-ah?” Yunho had to surpress the urge to bark at him for adressing his Ji Eun informally.

“Aish, isn’t it obvious oppa? They’re a married couple,” Ayumi decided to answer him.

Changmin choked on his food, sending a few bits and pieces flying everywhere. Ji Eun quickly handed him a napkin and some water while Yunho’s was raging in jealousy at her sweet acts towards a guest. She always does that to him, and only allowed to do that to him. After he calmed down, Changmin stared incredulously at the young married couple in front of him.

“M-married? B-but…” Changmin stuttered skeptically.

Yunho held onto his wife’s hand gently, showing him the proof. The matching wedding rings on their fingers made Changmin widened his eyes in shock. He have read in magazines about Yunho’s marriage, but he didn’t expect he would be married to someone as young as Ji Eun.

They’re like six years apart! What the hell?

“They’ve been married for almost eight months now,” Misun added, smiling warmly at her son and daughter-in-law.

Changmin had a small smile on his face as he nodded understandingly. They continued finishing their meal, their conversation seemed less enthusiastic than before.

“Call me anytime Ji Eun-ah,” Ayumi said as they shared a friendly hug. The guests were heading back home as the Jungs bid them goodbye.

“Hope to see you again Ji Eun-ah,” Changmin smiled as he too hugged the girl.

Ji Eun had a red blush on her cheeks while Yunho was clutching tightly onto his fists, unable to control his jealousy anymore. He quickly pulled his wife from the hug and circled one arm around her shoulder as the two men exchanged handshake. Changmin noticed the jealousy shown by Yunho and had a cunning smile on his face.

Their attention went to a car pulling up the entrance of the house as Jihye stepped outside. She just came back from college and noticed the guests. “Oh, we have guests?” she asked.

“It’s Ji Eun’s best friend,” Yunho replied, pulling his wife closer to him.

Jihye exchanged bows with them before they left in the car. “Ji Eun-ah, who’s that tall guy?” she asked, staring as the car disappeared around the corner.

“It’s Shim Changmin. Ayumi’s cousin. Why unnie?” Ji Eun replied, tilting her head to the side at the question.

“Shim Changmin…” Jihye mumbled the name. “Nothing. He’s… cute,” she smiled to herself and went inside the house followed by Misun.

Yunho saw Ji Eun giggling to herself when Jihye mentioned that and couldn’t help but to ask, “Do you think he’s cute too?”

His wife looked up at his face and slightly nodded, a faint pink blush was visible on her fair cheeks. “He has that cute baby face,” she complimented.

Yunho’s heart sunk at that statement and he went inside the house, stomping his foot angrily along the way. Being the naïve and innocent that she is, Ji Eun just stared at her husband in confusion. She was unaware that she had tested Yunho’s jealousy at it’s full limit.

Ji Eun followed him inside, into their bedroom with Yunho stomping his foot along the way. He could’ve left a footprint on the floor from the excessive energy. As soon as he entered the room, he slammed the door shut with full force, oblivious of the fact that his wife was following closely from behind.

The door hit Ji Eun’s forehead as she yelped and fell on her bottom with a loud thud. She quickly stood up and rubbed her sore head, predicting if it would left a bump. Yunho heard the yelp, but he ignored it, not knowing it came from his wife. Her eyes were tearing at the pain as she turned the doorknob and stepped inside.

Yunho still had that grumpy look on his face as he took of his blazer and necktie, throwing them somewhere across the room. He took off his shoes next and plopped himself on the bed while ing  a few buttons on his shirt. His clothings landed near Ji Eun’s feet as she picked them up one by one and placed them in the laundry basket.

“Oppa… kwenchana?” Ji Eun asked as she sat on the bed.

Yunho turned to the other side with his back facing her. She bit her lip, wondering what suddenly went wrong with him. They were just fine a few minutes ago and now, he was ignoring her. She scooted closer to him, placing a palm on one of his arms.

“Oppa, waegureyo? Are you mad at me?” she asked, gently shaking his arm.

Yunho wriggled off her touch and placed a pillow on his face, still not uttering a single word. Ji Eun grew concerned at his behaviour as she was starting to think of the possibilities why he acted that way. She gulped hard and tried to talk to him again.

“Did I do something wrong?” she asked, a lump was forming in at that question. “Oppa?”

“Just leave me alone. I’m tired,” he mumbled from under the pillow.

Ji Eun just nodded, she could sense that he was angry at her. “Oh d-dae, I’ll b-be… downstairs if you need me,” she muttered in a low tone and left the room while rubbing her sore forehead.

After making sure she was completely gone, he pulled the pillow away from his face. “She left just like that?” Yunho asked, disappointed. He was expecting more from her. He wanted her to ask what went wrong and to comfort him. Possibly cheer him up or something similar. But she just left when he told her too.

Yes he was feeling very jealous, but he wasn’t mad at her for real. He was just kidding with her. He wanted Ji Eun to treat him like a wife trying to comfort her jealous husband, but he was left feeling disappointed.

“Maybe I should… nah~,” he shrugged off the thought. “But… who is Changmin to Ji Eun? I thought she said she never had guy friends before…” Yunho thought deeply about the matter.
