On November 9, Woollim Entertainment revealed its stance and plans for future action in the midst of malicious rumors surrounding soon-to-debut girl group Lovelyz member Seo Ji Soo.

The agency, which is preparing to debut the eight-member girl group, posted a message through its official Facebook page as follows:

“This is a notification from Woollim Entertainment.

There have been false rumors circulating regarding Lovelyz member Seo Ji Soo, so we will request a formal investigation tomorrow in order to impose punishment on those creating and distributing the rumors.

Woollim Entertainment will be taking strong legal action against these false rumors being spread just before the member’s debut. We are informing you that as long as the lawsuit is in action, there will not be any settlements.

Thank you.”

According to the post, the formal investigation is set to begin on November 10. The agency appears to have made this decision to take legal action, as there have been many posts made through online communities discussing Seo Ji Soo’s past. These posts contain a wide range of rumors from stories about her alleged ‘iljin’ (bully) past, to her intentions of joining Woollim Entertainment in order to seduce members of agency senior group INFINITE, to allegations about her uality.
