Veterans return to the stage; topping various music charts

The recent results of Korean online charts show drastic differences in ranking. In the midst of flooding idols, veteran singers Seo Taiji and Kim Dongryul surprisingly topped the charts.
Kim Dongryul released his 6th studio album “Accompaniment” on October 1st, swiftly topping the charts with his first single “That’s Me” and all other included songs. Not only this, Kim Dongryul’s upcoming national concert was all sold out within 2 minutes of its release.
Seo Taiji, waiting patiently to release his 9th album “Quiet Night,” released his first single “Sogyeokdong” prior to his album release. By collaborating with IU, Seo Taiji increased the synergy of the song, depicting the district of Sogyeokdong in its 80s, with political and social messages subliminally given out. With its initial release, the song became a hit, and topped the chart within hours.
In fact, return of old veterans in K-Pop have occurred quite often since last years. Cho Yongpil, the legendary and oldest pop artist released his album last year topping in various charts, while Lee Sunhee, one of the most renowned female vocalists of Korea, released his 30th anniversary album “Serendipity.”
Music of the good old ages are still loved by many people to even now days. The youths of today are moving onto different music genres which touch them emotionally rather than visually. So who is next in line for comeback?
