Just hours ago, Korean media portal reported the recent passing of popular rock idol Shin Hae Chul. Following the sad news, the artist’s agency KCA Entertainment has released an official statement along with a brief report by Seoul Asan Hospital’s Chief Medical Advisor.

“This is KCA Entertainment, the company in charge of Shin Hae Chul. Shin Hae Chul has passed away to the heavens on October 27th at 8:19pm KST with his family watching. The wake has been scheduled to be at the Seoul Asan Hospital on the 28th from 10am. The coffin and cemetery location has not been decided.

Below is the Seoul Ahsan Hospital’s Chief Medical Advisor’s brief report.

Shin Hae Chul, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, around 2pm KST, was admitted to the Seoul Ahsan Hospital emergency room in a comatose state and received emergency surgery; despite these efforts, on Monday, October 27, 2014, at 8:19pm KST, due to ischemic , he passed away with his family by his side.

Including his family, along with everyone who was hoping for Shin Hae Chul’s recovery, we send our deepest condolences for not being able to [help him] recover despite the medical team’s best efforts.

We ask and hope that you offer your condolences for the deceased.”
