Jessica under fire for similarities to Japanese brand "BLANC"
K-NewsKorean media are reporting that Jessica Jung, is currently involved in a possible plagiarism accusation regarding her recently renamed fashion line “BLANC & ECLARE” and Japanese fashion brand, “BLANC”.
With recent news of Jessica Jung being removed from Girls’ Generation, to begin her individual career as a fashionista, the media’s attention has been aimed at the star’s new fashion brand named BLANC.
BLANC revealed in a press statement, “Following the successful launch of our premier collection to a global audience, BLANC Group is proud to unveil ECLARE, the next step in the maturation of our brand.”
However, it is apparently being pointed out by third parties and fashion-goers that Jessica’s brand is plagiarizing a popular Japanese fashion brand also named “BLANC”.
Many netizens have speculated that Jessica Jung’s “BLANC” was renamed to avoid any trouble, however, the star announced in regards to the name change, "Although the unveiling of ECLARE was sooner than expected, I am proud to be taking BLANC & ECLARE to the next level."
Media continue to report that, “Not only were the two brands named the same title, but the formatting, layout, design, and logo of Jessica Jung’s “BLANC & ECLARE” website is seen to be a spitting image of the Japanese “BLANC” brand website.”
However, Koreaboo did individual research on the websites and found the similarities to be almost none, in terms of the website design. A plain white website with boxed items are common for shops, and default themes for numerous sites as well
