Netizens have criticized f(x)’s Sulli for failing to attend the first showcase for her upcoming movie “Fashion King,” which has been held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul on September 25th. In face of their anger, reps from the movie have stepped up to explain the current situation.

As it is scheduled to premiere sometime in early October, “Fashion King” held their first showcase recently. However, it is a well-known fact that showcases prior to dramas/film airing are the most important events for any media production. Acting as the first real launch of whatever has been produced to the public, it is essential that all the staff attend to participate in the first presentation of the show. The trailer is shown as well, along with a brief press conference. Regarding the huge scale of the event, fans have been distraught with the fact that Sulli hasn’t attended, following her absence for the poster shooting of the same production.

A representative had explained, “As the concept of this showcase involved a fashion contest with 500 fans, we have decided that the starring female actresses will not be attending,” adding, "It wasn’t just Sulli, but Park Saeyoung too has not attended the event." In other words, it had been revealed through PD Oh Kihwan himself that only the male actors such as Joowon, Ahn Jaehyun, and Kim Sungoh would attend.

Though SM Entertainment has asserted that Sulli will be focusing more on her acting career, as it had been a greater dream for her in the first place, she appears to be more missing than present for the required promotions.

Fans have already been criticizing her for the sudden drop of promotions for “Red Light,” though there has been additional fire regarding her absence in the poster for latest concert “BEST OF BEST IN GUANGZHOU.” Despite her having gone on hiatus following nasty responses against her confirmation with of her relationship with Choiza, she is continuously missing from activities.

The representative continued, “Even after the showcase there are a few big and small events that [Sulli] has been reserved to attend, though nothing has been confirmed yet. Moreover, since the opening date of fashion king has not been decided yet, the press premiere has also not been decided yet. Sulli’s attendance is still in coordination.”

When asked about the rumors that Sulli will not promote with the rest of the cast last month, reps responded saying, “We have just recently chosen a target premiere date for “Fashion King.” At the earliest, the movie is set to premiere in early October… We are in a situation where we still have to discuss with the cast their schedules. We haven’t contacted Sulli’s reps yet, and Sulli’s reps haven’t notified us of any absence. It is something we still need to discuss more.”

All in all, matters remain uncertain regarding Sulli’s future attendance.
