4-member Wonder Girls comeback not determined
K-NewsJYP Entertainment has denied the recent rumors of a Wonder Girls comeback as a quartet.
According to a JYP Entertainment official to a Newsen reporter on September 22, “Nothing has been decided regarding the comeback of Yeeun, Yoobin, Hyerim and Sunmi has Wonder Girls.”
A recent report by another medial portal revealed Wonder Girls rushing preparations to make a comeback this Fall as a quartet, including Sunmi who left Wonder Girls back in 2010, would return. Following these reports, JYP Entertainment strongly denied and dismissed said allegations.
Wonder Girls has undergone several line up changes starting in 2007 upon their debut when HyunA, now a member of 4minute and successful solo artist and sub-unit member of Trouble Maker, left due to health reasons. Yoobin was brought in to replace her, and three years later, Sunmi left the group to focus on her studies and was replaced by Hyerim. Leader Sunye recently got married and went on an official hiatus from the group, while Sohee exited the group earlier this year after deciding not to renew her contract with JYP Entertainment.
Since then, both Yeeun and Sunmi have kick started their solo careers successfully.
