Blitz Magazine

Apparently, the first thing Jaejoong did as soon as he set foot in Seoul was to call for the company car to get him to Blitz.

Not caring that he was totally jet lagged, he dragged his extremely tired self onto the 30th floor to yell at the high ranking Fashion Department employees, fired a couple of them for being Heo’s pushovers, demoted a few more and did reshuffling of roles.

After which, the pissed off embodiment of perfection went up to the 37th floor to pay his best buddy Yoochun a visit.

‘No need for greetings, you scumbag. I can’t believe I actually associated my fabulous self with such a lowly and disappointing creature for more than half my life.’ Jaejoong gestured for him to zip it and the latter complied immediately, ‘This is your punishment: You will act like a total towards every single one of your beloved Lifestyle Department staff member. You will revert back to your annoyingly bubbly self only when any of the following happens: 1) Notice of an assassination attempt or any other alert on the lines of being life endangering for you. 2) The Lifestyle Department protests against you on the streets. 3) If I ever take pity on you, but the probability of that happening is almost 0. Have fun being a terrible boss.’

Jaejoong then informed Yoochun as well that he would not be getting his any of big fat paycheque until the end of the financial year (Of course his Yunnie would back him up on this without hesitation), which meant that he would be working for free for the next 7 months.

Yoochun was surprisingly overjoyed with the decisions, for it only meant that Jaejoong had closed this whole ed up situation for good, and it absolutely beat being ed at for the rest of his life.

Jaejoong then proceeded into Yunho’s office to announce his return, to which Yunho nodded and then apologised.

Jaejoong replied with a cold, ‘I will deal with you later’ and left to attend to his now ground-zero Wardrobe on the 20th floor.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘What is this!? A childcare centre!?’ Jaejoong spat the second he scanned though the extremely messy looking department he had left to the care of Kimchi for the past 5 months.
Young Mi came up and bowed timidly before Jaejoong, ‘Welcome back, Jaejoong. The Wardrobe is extremely short of staff, so we hired these high schoolers who are now on school holiday-’
‘You’re giving me a headache.’ Jaejoong rubbed his temples dramatically with his eyes closed, long luscious lashes fanning his cheeks, ‘Just tell me, they’re here temporarily right?’
Young Mi nodded, ‘Yes, Jaejoong.’
‘Well handled,’ Jaejoong walked past Number 5 and threw his bag harshly onto his desk, causing everyone to look at the beauty.
‘You’re back,’ Number 1 smiled.
‘For good,’ Jaejoong nodded.
The high schoolers were busy gaping at Jaejoong’s magnificence until the beauty snapped, ‘I am truly flattered by all your attention, but you kids are paid to slog it out, not eye me.’
The teenagers woke from their sweet reverie and got back to work.
‘Do you need any help, Jaejoong?’ Young Mi walked towards her department head’s desk.
‘Of course,’ Jaejoong sighed, ‘I need you to get the Black file for me. I don’t care whether its half done or if it’s just scraps of paper. I want it now.’
Young Mi gave a quick nod and went on her mission.
‘Number 1, you’re the senior assistant here now, am I right?’ Jaejoong called out.
‘Yes, I am.’
‘This is already the second week of the life cycle (referring to how the magazine works, from planning, execution, printing then sales), so I’m sure the photoshoot style sheets are already out. Give them all to me.’
‘Yes, Jaejoong,’ Number 1 got to work.
Jaejoong leaned back in his chair and his eyes fell onto Kimchi’s empty desk.
Uttering a long string of curses, Jaejoong rested his head on the table to get a quick nap as his jet-laggardness started to wear him down.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

‘Tell the fashion department that the monochrome photoshoot is scraped, tell them its already been done 5 times within 2 years. The article on skin whitening creams is severely inaccurate- ask the writers if they’ve actually tried them. I did and they all deserve to be in the bin. The review on the new mall with the ridiculous futuristic concept is too weak. Tell the writer not to sit on the fence and be strongly against the mall.’ Jaejoong handed the file back to Young Mi.

Err… Jaejoong… if the mall developers…’ Young Mi began hesitantly.

‘We’re just being truthful to our readers, and besides, the mall looks like crap. It’s a mall for Cashmere’s sake, not a science museum. ing turn off,’ Jaejoong stuck out his tongue in disgust, ‘Now run along and stop wasting precious time.’

And Young Mi ran along.

‘Number 1, come here and receive further orders,’ Jaejoong picked up another file and flipped though it, ‘The colour block photoshoot’s clothes are too glaring, it hurts my pretty eyes. Tell them to add in softer or darker hues. The main photoshoot will be done by me, so tell them not to bother about it. The selection of accessories for the must have page are too similar with last year’s June issue, tell them to lessen the bling and think of organic forms. Same goes for the shoe pages, less bling and flats, more feet killing platforms please. Go on.’

‘Should I come back later?’ A drawl came from the entrance of the department.

‘It’s that mafia guy!’ One of the high schoolers cried out and Jaejoong couldn’t help but laugh.

‘It’s Mr. Jung!’ Number 1 corrected the teenager, who immediately looked down in embarrassment.

‘Yunnie, we’ll talk in the accessories closet.’ Jaejoong walked down the tiny aisle with Yunho following closely behind.

As soon as Yunho closed the door and turned around, Jaejoong let out a frustrated yell and began messing up his hair.

‘Calm down before you pull out all of your hair,’ Yunho walked across the closet to grab two stools for them both to sit down.

‘Yunnie, Yoochun will not get any pay until the start of the next financial year.’

‘Sure.’ Yunho nodded.

‘Yunnie, I need Kimchi reinstated.’ Jaejoong pouted.

Yunho thought for a while, ‘Sure, but I don’t think she’ll want to come back. You know… pride issues.’

‘I know.’

‘I have a plan. Don’t worry.’

‘What is the plan?’ Jaejoong asked with shiny eyes.

‘I’m still considering it, but I’ll tell you before the end of this week.’

Jaejoong pouted adorably again.

Yunho had to look away, ‘You’ll find out soon enough.’

‘I hate surprises.’

‘It’s a good kind of surprise. Trust me on this.’

‘I hope so.’ Jaejoong crossed his arms over his chest, ‘As for your punishment… I just realised something.’

Yunho gave Jaejoong a questioning look.

‘You… are un-punishable.’

Really?’ Yunho laughed.

‘Yeah, nothing ing gets you all riled up, like seriously. Nothing.’ Jaejoong frowned.

‘So… I can get away scot-free?’ Yunho smirked.

‘Well… unfortunately, yes, that would be the case.’ Jaejoong sulked.

'IloveyouJaejoongbye.' And Yunho stealthily slipped out of the room within a split second.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
‘This can't be happening,’ Jaejoong closed his eyes as he felt a strong throbbing pain in his head.
Jaejoong had been at his desk for the past 4 days, working his (pretty) off to bring the fashion department’s standards up to where it was before his transfer to New York.
Jaejoong walked towards Number 1’s desk and pulled out the last drawer.
Giving a knowing smirk, he took out the first aid kit and from it, switched on the thermometer and stuck it in his mouth.
‘Just a little stress and you’re already sick?’ Jaejoong scolded himself, ‘You’re getting too old for this job.’
The device beeped and Jaejoong pulled the thermometer out from his mouth and stared at reading: 42 degrees.
‘My brain is going to be totally fried at this rate.’ Jaejoong gaped as he walked towards the restroom to clean the device.
Jaejoong didn’t like taking meds because it made him drowsy. And a drowsy Jaejoong was practically incapable of doing any work because he would sleep all day long and would suffer from an even worse case of sleep drunkard-ness.
Downing his 5th cup of coffee that early morning, Jaejoong worked though his 4th night without sleep.
On the other side of town, Kimchi was still clueless about Jaejoong’s return.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

With your free time, you decided to pamper yourself by sleeping till the late morning and lazing around in bed doing absolutely nothing.

‘I could get used to this,’ you thought and began to recall when it was the last time you actually had time to slack like this.

Deciding that it was about a year and a half ago, you gave a tired sigh and patted yourself on the back for having gone though so much pain and hardship over such a short period of time.

But you never regretted the wonderful time in Blitz, after all, you got to know the most unpredictable and y guy in the whole world, and he was the very same guy in which you would give your heart to and crazily want to spend the rest of your life with.

You laughed at your ironic self and hugged your bolster tightly, imaging that it was Jaejoong you were holding in your arms.

Giving a contented sigh a couple of minutes later, you finally decided to get out of bed to freshen up.

Not knowing why your thoughts so far that day seemed to lead to Jaejoong in the end, you walked into your kitchen to cook a heap full of rice.

‘Jaejoong likes the kimchi I make,’ you smiled to yourself as you ate the fluffy white rice with the said spicy side dish.

‘Jaejoong would spend time watching Jiji run around the house,’ you finished washing up the dishes and went to let Jiji out of its ‘playpen’ to roam around.

You ended up following the beautiful feline walk about the apartment for about an hour before you put it back into its comfortable ‘territory’ to have its catnap.

Bored out of your wits, you grabbed your wallet and headed out to get some fresh air.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You got home at around 10pm after having dinner at a fast food restaurant, getting a couple of magazines from the bookstore a few streets away from your apartment and replenishing your snack cupboard in the kitchen with sweets and biscuits from the supermarket.
You were closing the door behind you when you noticed that the kitchen lights were switched on and someone was opening and slamming shut the kitchen cabinets rather violently.
‘Strange place for a burglar to look for stuff to steal,’ you couldn’t help but laugh in your head despite this dangerous situation.
You gently put down your purchases on the couch and grabbed your bible of a magazine: Blitz’s March issue (you were reminiscing about the good times last night and failed to put it back in the bookshelf), which was 628 pages thick.
Holding the magazine up above your head and taking a deep breath before running into the kitchen to attempt to flatten the burglar’s head, you mustered all the courage you had within you and did just that.
It was too late to stop your act of violence when you noticed that it was the guy you had been missing for the past 5 months.
You shut your eyes as the magazine made contact with Jaejoong’s head.
‘Fu-’ even before the beauty could finish cursing, he fell lifelessly onto the cold hard marble floor.
‘J-Jaejoong,’ you immediately dropped the magazine and scooped him up into your arms.
‘What kind of a welcome was that?’ Jaejoong spoke in an almost inaudible voice with his eyes half opened.
Gawd, you’re so hot,’ you felt Jaejoong’s body heating up as you held him in your arms.
‘I know I’m hot,’ Jaejoong muttered before fainting on you.
Chapter 72: oh geez, so much for happy boss day. It was nice to see them all again! It's funny, I actually thought you were rewriting the whole thing (since you had updated it) I hadn't really been keeping up with the fanfics here so I thought you might have been editing it so I reread the whole thing (needless to say it was awesome to reminisce about the chapters and reread) and came across the authors note where you said you would leave the story uncompleted because you planned to update little stories at the end once in a while. It's nice to see them return!!
