Miss. Trouble

Leerang stood on the doorstep to Lay's house, her hands trembling when she pressed the doorbell. The fact that no one knew she was there bothered the girl a bit. But the problem had never taken form if it hadn't been for Leerang, therefore was she going to settle it on her own, without any help from either Kris or Chanyeol. Her heart leaped when seeing the door being pushed open, thus revealing Lay's mother, "Leerang, how nice to see you again." did the older woman not know anything? Was she so clueless to everything going on with her own son? "Hi. Is Lay home?" hesitantly the girl glanced inside, somewhat hoping he wouldn't, as she was scared of what would happen if they met. "He's in his room, should I call him down?" almost immediately did Leerang shake her head, "I would like to speak to him in private if that's okay?" to let anyone else know could end in disaster, something she most definitely didn't want. Not when Kris and his mother were risking so much. "Of course, come in." Lay's mother moved aside, thus letting her step inside the hallway, which looked exactly alike with it's marvelous details and impressive artwork. "I'm guessing you know your way around?" indeed, she'd been shown Lay's room before and knew more than well how to get there, "yes."

The thought of leaving crossed her mind more than once as she made her way up the stairs and down the hall to Lay's bedroom. "You can do this. If not for yourself then do it for Kris." it wasn't easy though, to convince herself into doing something that scared the living hell out of her. Lay had suddenly become someone she feared. Ridiculous in a sense, especially since she'd been so in love with the older male for so long. Well, Leerang thought she'd loved him. "It's not like he can actually do something with his mother home." with that in mind did she advance forward, the previous feeling of terror temporary gone. The girl came to a halt when reaching his bedroom door, one that flew open a second or two later, thus causing her to take a wary step backwards, away from him, "I n -need to t -talk to you." Lay's eyes bore right into her own, and she couldn't help but to flinch as he inched closer and closer, only to stop when he had her cornered between himself and the wall behind the girl, "I knew you'd realize he wasn't good for you." she wanted to cuss at him, to tell him to get lost. But her body wouldn't function and Leerang's breath caught in when his hand came in contact with her cheek, "s -stop." he flushed himself against her in a manner that made her skin crawl, and she began to regret the decision of coming there. "Why?"

Was he being serious?

Leerang could make a damn long list of everything he'd done, and the whole ordeal with him trying to lure her into believing he was some sweet, caring person was far from the worst part. The fact that he would go as far as to destroy Kris and his mother's lives were overwhelmingly bothersome. "Does it make you happy?" tears blurred her vision whilst she searched his eyes for some sort of remorse, "don't you understand you're causing other people misery." Lay's chest heaved, his jaw tensed and he unconsciously tightened the hold he had around her waist, "I do. But it's the only thing I know." the tears fell, she felt absolutely horrible. Not only for what Kris had to live through, but Lay, too. There were so many things the latter didn't know. Stuff he had the right to know of. "Then stop." he stared at her with that gaze she'd fallen in love with several months ago, those eyes that'd caused her whole body to tingle and her heart to flutter in delight. It was different now, because all she felt was pain.

Lay backed away, his head hung low, until he leaned against the wall opposite of the younger girl, "you truly don't get it." a dry laugh slipped from his lips, almost as if he thought of something that amused him. Leerang though, remained silent whilst trying to understand. It wasn't the first time he'd said a similar sentence, and she were curious to what it could mean, especially since he barely told Leerang anything. His whole life consisted of school, partying and being with his friends, which were pretty normal for a teenager around his age. But. The way he drowned himself in alcohol wasn't. No one should have to drink that much to forget, and definitely not such a young person like Lay who got his whole life left to live. "Of course I don't. How could I when you won't tell me anything." slowly but surely was she regaining her confidence, one that faltered a bit as Lay snapped, "why should I have told you? You were nothing but a toy." it hurt hearing him voice it out so harshly and without care. But then again, relationships built on romantic emotions were far from his comfort zone. "So I've heard." a short moment of silence followed and Leerang ran the back of her hand over her cheek, as to remove all traces of tears.

The sound of footsteps interrupted her train of thoughts and she glanced down the hallway and towards the staircase, only to spot Lay's father. And Kris'. Did the old man even know that Kris knew? Leerang couldn't help but to wonder what would happen if others' were to know. Maybe Lay wouldn't hate Kris so much if he knew they were half-brothers. Not that the girl would ever find out, because she'd promised to never tell anyone.

"What are you kids up to?" his father turned to them and Leerang couldn't help but to feel sick to her stomach when watching the man. "Nothing." there were an underlying tone to Lay's voice, one that was hostile and totally unfriendly, and it made the girl even more curious. Why hadn't she taken notice of it earlier? How Lay completely brushed his father away. Did he… no, he couldn't. It was impossible that he knew. Still, the thought crossed her mind. "Well, you know where to find me if you need anything." Lay didn't even look at his father, not even a simple acknowledgment could be heard, and it was with a newfound interest Leerang watched the man disappear into another room farther down the hall. "How irritating." the outburst caught her by surprised and she redirected her attention back to Lay, whose eyes were dark and unforgiving, "what?" every little thing he did seemed to be out of hate or fury, almost as if he despised everyone around him.

Was he so miserable with life?

Avoiding his heated gaze she spoke, "why do you do it?" he had to have a reason for behaving as such, because no one woke up and just decided to start treating people like trash. There had to be something. "Why do you act as if nothing matters?" Leerang shouldn't have questioned him. She should've let it slip and moved on, because in a second was she pressed up against the wall again, his face so close she could feel his breath ghosting across her skin, "why do you care?" her heart raced as she caught his gaze, "it's you who don't understand now." surprise flashed in his eyes and he seemed taken aback for a brief moment. Really, weren't he supposed to be glad someone cared enough to ask? "You know what. I'm amazed I even fell in love with you in the first place. Do you want to know why? Because you treat everything and everyone around you like yesterday's trash." Lay retreated back, walked into his room and slammed the door shut behind, thus leaving Leerang standing there.

Moving over she gave the door a light knock. No reply was given and the girl hesitate before grabbing onto the handle, "Lay?" yet again, nothing. And she took the courage and pushed the door open. "Lay, I didn't come here to argue. But to ask you to stop whatever you're trying to accomplish." Leerang referred to the café and his tries of getting it to close down. What she didn't know though, was that Lay knew everything of his father's little affair with Kris' mother. He'd known for years about Kris being his half-brother. "Really? You want me to stop?" he had absolutely no thought of that. Not after all the pain his father had brought upon their family, on his mother and him.

That foolish old man believed he could get away with treating his own wife and son like idiots. "Yes. Kris and his mother doesn't deserve that sort of treatment." Lay scoffed. What about him then? Did he deserve a life were his father neglected him?  Where he was nothing more than a part in the puppet show? No, he had -needed to teach the old man a lesson. That he was not one to mess with. And that's where Kris and his mother came in. The oh so respected man would be torn down as the revelations went public. "Well, I don't think you know what I'm trying to accomplish." Leerang was at loss of words. How could he be so heartless?

Lay moved over before placing himself directly in front of the younger girl, who in difference to earlier, didn't feel threatened. "I wonder whether Kris has told you." a small smile lit on his lips whilst he tilted his head to the side, "maybe he doesn't even know." Leerang frowned, she no idea what he was talking about, "you are making no sense." tired and having had enough for one day the girl told him she would leave. The result of her sentence was immediate and she soon found herself in his grip, her eyes wide in pure horror as to what he would do. "Let me go, now." Leerang pushed at his chest, the action was barely noticed though, because he did barely move an inch. "No. I can't let you leave just yet." moving about the girl tried to get free, only to be met with resistance from Lay's side, "there's one more thing." no. The word rang in her head with ever centimeter he leaned in, because Leerang truly believed the older male would take advantage of the situation and kiss her. Therefore did it arrive as a great surprise when he pressed his lips to her ear instead.

"I've known for years… -" her eyebrows knitted together and she was rather confused when he stopped all too suddenly, "that Kris is my half-brother."

Important!

There’s a storyline I’ve had in mind for half a year now and I know I said I would stop writing once Miss. Trouble was completed. Though, I’m wondering whether anyone would be interested in a story featuring a main girl, Luhan and Sehun? [It’s not a story.]

Chapter 72: Wow. Awesome story. Though I wonder whatever became of Leerang's mother? I bet she probably disowned Leerang for doing everything against her wishes. I'm glad that Leerang stayed with Kris and helped to get his life back on track. Great story.
