“A lot of people around the country are curious of why there are so much talk about Korea and the term Kpop (Korean pop music) this week,” the male reporter says on the TV. “The reason behind all talk is the group named 5 Pieces. With five girls from Sweden, who went all the way to Korea to debut as singers three years ago, arrived yesterday in Sweden and they have been making a lot of noise with their arrival.”

When mentioning 5 Pieces, a photo of the group from the single [One and Only] appears next to the reporter. It then shows clips of their arrival at the airport, the reporter saying that fans from all around the country as well as neighbour countries came to welcome 5 Pieces to Sweden.

“5 Pieces is part of what is called the kpop craze, which means they are part of the popular group of singers from Korea who are growing in popularity around the world. 5 Pieces’ popularity is rising too as they during this week have been in Europe for promotions for the first time, and over 12,000 people came to meet them in Paris. Wherever 5 Pieces goes, it becomes a mess – look at this.”

They show a clip of 5 Pieces arriving at the airport in France with the many fans crying when seeing them; 5 Pieces at a fan signing in Germany; in USA, Japan and also Sweden. It shows that they are popular all around the world.

“The group is considered as one of the biggest groups in Asia, while 5 Pieces have never performed or been active in Sweden or Europe,” the reporter says while the TV shows a performance of 5 Pieces’ from MAMA where the audience was singing along.

“5 Pieces have showed an international knowledge in both languages and cultures-” they shows clips of the girls talking in Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English, Germany from just the other day, and also Swedish. “- and today they will meet their Swedish fans for the first time. Here is a short interview with 5 Pieces.”

The TV shows 5 Pieces standing next to each other, and in Swedish they answer the few questions.

“We have gone back and forth from Sweden to Korea for the past three years, but this is our first time actually promoting in Sweden. We have been nervous and anxious to meet the Swedish fans, and after spending this week promoting around Europe we are very positive about it,” Carolina said.

The day in Sweden is crazy. The girls start their schedule at five in the morning, doing interviews for Swedish magazines and TV to tell about their thoughts and feelings about promoting shortly in Sweden for the first time. Most of the interviews are short, but one is really long. By that time they are more comfortable speaking Swedish, not mixing it so much with other languages that they did the day before.

Maria says she feels good speaking in Swedish, but Emelia ruins it by saying Maria still adds English words in her sentences.

Between ten-eleven in the morning, they start the first fan signing in Sweden. Hannah’s smile is very awkward when they are sitting there, talking in Swedish. Several times she is about to say something in Korean or English, and at times she even has to speak in English because fans comes from Norway and Finland and other countries too.

“I am so damned proud of you,” a teenage girl says when Hannah is signing for her; in Swedish. “5 Pieces rocks, seriously rocks. You are my God, and I mean it. I am ALWAYS listening to [Original], and it really has a deep meaning. I’m proud to be from Sweden, and in the future people will always think of 5 Pieces when Sweden is mentioned.”

Hannah is actually smiling honestly now. She gets so happy to hear all the positive things from fans. And even in Sweden, it is crazy. Fans are lining up even outside the mall they are at. The girls are still somewhat comfortable, as it is a language they are familiar with and they somehow feel closer to the fans.

Emelia is comfortably talking about the weather, asking where all the snow is. She and a fan get in a deep discussion, or actually complaining, that it isn’t a meter high snow already. In Stockholm it isn’t even that cold, which surprises Hannah and her members since they had expected the coldest weather there compared to the other countries.

Another girl walks up in front of Hannah and when she looks up she just starts to laugh.

“Can I please get a sign?” the girl in front of Hannah asks in an overly doing voice. Well, maybe you shouldn’t say girl because she is 21 years old.

“Sure,” Hannah laughs. “Did you come to meet Maria?”

“I came to meet all of you,” Maria’s older sister Molly answers with a smile. You can clearly see that they are sisters – the same nose, eyes, eyebrows; everything is about the same, like twins. “Don’t tell her, I want to surprise her.”

Hannah nods and signs the CD when asking if she came alone.

“All of us sisters came. The others didn’t want to stand in line, so they are standing a little behind,” Molly answers happily. “We can talk later, right?”

Hannah nods again and gives her the CD with a smile, wishing her good luck to surprise Maria. Hannah has met Maria’s family plenty of times, since they are childhood friends and have lived close to each other all these years. Always when they are in Sweden, Hannah and Maria often takes walks together around where they live. Molly have walked with them a few times, otherwise they have watched movies together and such. All the four sisters in Maria’s family are just as charming as Maria; though Maria is more of a princess than the others.

A few minutes later, Hannah leans over the table a little, excusing the fan in front of her, to see Maria’s reaction when Molly comes up in front of her.

“OMG!” Maria screams in her diva voice and everyone looks to see what it is while Hannah just smiles. Maria gets up and hugs her sister over the table, making fans scream – though everyone probably knows they are sisters if they have seen Molly.

“They look so alike!” the fan in front of Hannah says in surprise, also taking notice of the two sisters hugging and laughing.

“They take photos the same way too,” Hannah smiles and takes a new CD to sign.

“It must be hard to live so far away from your parents,” the fan mutters sadly.

“At days like these, meeting so many positive fans, I don’t think much of my family,” Hannah smiles. She is really happy seeing Molly, and far, far in the background she thought she saw one of the other sister’s of Maria too.

The fan signing is successful, really fun too actually. Afterwards, the girls gets some free time. They understand that Maria wants to spend some time with her sisters who came all the way there to meet her. Hannah, Emelia, Julia and Carolina on the other hand go to eat lunch and shop. They are so excited to be in Stockholm, and even if fans are following them around they are enjoying the free time.

Julia and Hannah are hand in hand jumping down the street, not bothered at all by the few fans that are following them on a distance now. They have learned to enjoy the time even if they are stalked. Julia makes a sudden stop when jumping forward with Hannah so the youngest almost flies onto Julia since they are holding hand.

They have stopped by a music store. Emelia just pushes them inside when seeing it and the girls are curiously looking around. Carolina laughs and jumps over to them, holding something in her hand that makes them all smile. It is their CD, [One and Only].

For their short free time, the girls actually do some shopping. Hannah’s excuse for the clothes she buys is that she hasn’t bought anything since around summer time, and as a girl it is important to buy clothes.

After the short free time, all members of 5 Pieces heads together to the fan meeting. Like it has been the whole week, the fans are loud and cheerful during the meeting. While sitting down and answering questions in the meeting, Carolina asks the fans if they will watch Idol tonight – because 5 Pieces will perform, and since it is the final.

Because they just had to get some free time during the day, 5 Pieces are in a rush the moment the fan meeting is over. They head straight to the Globe Arena where the final of Idol will take place. They have their rehearsal as soon as they arrive since they haven’t had time to do it either the day before or earlier this day.

“Could you please turn up the volume a little?” Julia asks the staff kindly and points to her ear. Hannah and Carolina are both standing in front of each other and warming up their vocals.

The rehearsal goes well. And by the side of the stage several staff and people are standing to watch them. Everyone is interested in 5 Pieces, including the well known jury that is of Swedish producers and song-writers. A former jury of Swedish Idol is the man who wrote [One and Only] for 5 Pieces, who the group worked with earlier in the year when they were finishing school in Swedish. He will be there too, to watch the final of Idol.

When the rehearsal has ended, the girls change their clothes and fix their hair and make-up. They are then introduced to the jury, do some interviews and also get to meet the finalists for Idol 2011.

Former idol winners are present; some will perform while others are just there to watch the program. 5 Pieces meets up with some of them and talks; most people are very curious about their life in Korea. Former Idol contestant Danny – who is very popular in Sweden – is very interested in 5 Pieces. He says he saw them on the News in the morning, and there were a lot of talk about them on Internet.

Hannah notices that the other members are really happy to be in Sweden. Julia kept saying during their free time how sweet it was to hear people talk Swedish around them. Even when they were at the hotel in the morning, eating breakfast, both Maria and Julia were dreaming away about coming back. Emelia is the same, though she coolly says she somehow misses Korea after all foreign visit during the week.

The Globe is filled. Everyone has arrived and the filming has started. 5 Pieces is backstage, hearing it starting and nervously standing in a circle.

“Okay…” Maria starts off with a big, loud breathe. She smiles. “I can’t believe we are here… The whole country will watch us on TV… so… Breathe girls, just breathe…”

“Maria, you are the one who should breathe,” Emelia sighs but they all smiles after those words, since they all are really nervous.

“Either way… We got to do this well; because my whole family is watching,” Maria says, filled with confidence. Carolina scoffs and the other girls do the same. “Okay, okay. Let’s do this instead; we rock, and so do our performance. Now let show Sweden; who are we?”

“5 Pieces!”

“I CAN’T HEAR YOU!”

“5 PIECES!” they all shouts and throws their hands in the air before going out in front of the audience, doing a short interview before taking on the stage to show their home country what they have been doing for the past three years.
