Amber’s POV

The day I’ve been waiting for finally came. Ever since that meeting, I always drive around and kept accepting challenges, trying to try some new techniques. My brother also helped me by letting me drive on the racetrack he’s been using for his practice, we have to keep it low though, since we’re not really allowed to. There, he gave me advices on what to do on certain curves. Victoria unnie also helped on recording my time every trial. Henry and Daniel were also there, to support.

We also tried modifying and improving my car. We changed the tires, upgraded the brakes and the nitrous boost. We changed some gears here and there too to ensure better performance. After that, I continued practicing every night.

FLASHBACK

“Are you really that determined to get Minho’s girl? I can’t believe you.” Henry told me.

I didn’t answer him but kept on reading a magazine instead.

“Just let her do what she wants hyung. Besides, even if she’s not interested with that girl, Minho insulted her for being a foreigner. He even wanted her out of this place. And you know that Amber has nowhere to go.” Daniel defended me.

I stood up from my seat and walked towards my room.

“Hey, where are you going?” Henry asked me.

“I’ll just go and sleep. I’m tired and sleepy.” I said as I faked a yawn. I know Henry hyung knows I’m just faking it, but he just let me.

I lied down my bed and stared at the ceiling only to be disturbed by some knocks on my door.

“Come in.”

It’s Daniel…

“Hey there buddy.” He greeted me.

“Any prob Danny?”

“Nothing… I’m just a bit worried I guess?”

“Thanks for caring.”

“Can I ask you something Am?” He said as he sat down on the floor beside by bed.

“Hm?”

“What are you going to do with her?”

“I don’t know.”

“You don’t know?! Hahaha! You’re still as crazy as ever, but is it going to work as what you did with Katie?”

“The way I annoyed her until she finally gave up and gave me a chance? Hahaha… I don’t know. All I know is that… when I saw her, I remembered Katie. It’s like my heart found her once again.”

“Did you ever regret that night?”

“Of course! I still felt guilty… if only I didn’t use my car… if only I didn’t accept that challenge… if I only knew that that was a trap… maybe I’m still in US now, laughing and crying with her.”

“Have you moved on?”

“Well, it’s been more than a year. I still feel guilty that I was the cause of her death…”

“But it’s an accident… if you only knew, then you could’ve prevented it…”

“I just felt the pain of her parents… I know they felt like the world was being so unfair to them because their daughter died instead of me.”

“Don’t say that… You survived because you still have lot of things to do here.”

“But what about her?”

“You’ve given her all of your heart… I’m sure she died with all of your love with her.”

“I don’t know… I don’t know…”

“Do you think if you get Minho’s girl, you’ll be at peace?”

“I really don’t know. I’m just following what my heart says.”

“Hahaha… You’re such a lovesick llama.”

“I know.”

“Listen Daniel, Amber, I want you to be careful in this race. According to some tips I got, there will be some police scattered around the area. The others, I was able to know where they are positioned, the others, I’m not yet sure.”
