Chapter 32 – Silent goodbye

Soojung’s POV

“That kid… she told me that she likes you. I didn’t approve at first… maybe because I’m still a bit bitter with me her brother, plus she’s lying to you. That race… I want her to prove how serious she is to her feelings towards you by winning the drift. The thing is, I made you drive for our team. I’m sorry… If only I didn’t do that… I’m sure, she’ll tell you eventually about her identity, and confess at the same time.”

Why? Am I really that good to make fun of? Of course I’m mad with my unnie. Who wouldn’t? After asking myself why she didn’t tell me about Amber, in the end, she’s still my sister. Knowing how she’s protective of me, I know she only did it to protect me, to avoid her baby sister from being hurt.

I have to apologize to her. Besides, she’s my one and only unnie in this world.

Wanting to clear my mind for a bit, I decided to go to my favorite place in Seoul. I told my parents that I’d just go out for a bit. I also assured them that I’d be careful in driving.

Watching the colorful lights decorating the bridge, I thought of things that happened recently. Everything’s in a mess.

First of all, I discovered that AJ is actually a girl, and that she and Amber are one person.

Second, Suzy told me that since I’ve been acting as if Amber doesn’t exist, she would no longer hesitate on loving Amber. Ever since that day, it seemed like the distance I made between Amber and I just increased day by day. People in underground racing, who knows Amber as AJ, even I, often see them together on the streets. Without even asking, I think they’re going out now. And I won’t make a fool out of myself that I don’t feel hurt everytime I see them together. I never saw them hold hands though… but I’ve seen couples who really don’t do that in public. Argh!

There also came Yuri unnie’s accident.

And now, I just confirmed, from my unnie’s own words, that Amber actually likes me. Why am I so blind not to see that Amber and AJ are the same?!

I heaved a deep sigh before hearing my phone ring. I checked the screen and only saw an unknown number. I answered it and heard a familiar voice.

“Hello…” I greeted.

“S-Soojung?”

“M-Minho?”

Daniel’s POV

“! I almost got lost there.” I read from Amber’s lips as I checked her from my car.

We just won a challenge, but we almost got lost. We only won by a few seconds from the challenging crew. It’s a two-on-two. The race consisted of two laps. It’s more like a relay since one of us will do one lap, while the other one will finish the remaining lap. It’s not usual that I see Amber drive like this.

There must be something wrong with her. There definitely is.
