CHAPTER 1: THE PAST (PART 6)

I was born with the name Ham Eunjung. I was born in unexpected situation. Nobody looked forward for my birth. My existence is redundancy. When my mother gave birth to me, she was suffering from trauma. Therefore, I couldn't feel the mother's warth. More over, I could feel that my haft sister who is my mother's daughter ignored me totally. She didn't say to me only a word and acted as if I hadn't been there. What made me surprised the most was she was a frienly and kind person toward everyone but me. The other sister is "cold" type so I didn't feel surprised at her attitude. However, when I was 4, she hugged me when I felt hurt and lonely. Her action surprised me so much but I liked it. Since that day, she has cared for me more although she didn't show directly. One year later, my mother has recovered. It changed my life so much. When I got that news, I was so happy and excited. I expected that I would receive the love from my mother. However, My father said to me "She is about to recover, I don't want her to get shocked again. I know this will not be fair for you, but please leave to the countryside for a year. I'll pick you up next year, ok?". I couldn't do anything but nod my head because I could see his sorrow eyes and shaking voce that I have never seen before, Althogh I didn't understand what he meant. This was the first time he talked to me with soft voice not "cold" one. The way he talked was like a father to his daughter. Next morning, I moved to the new place. I felt so lonely, I have fely like this before, but htis was more terrible. However, I didn't show it out, I have to be strong because I have seen many people in this family cry.

My father hired a woman to take care of me. At first, she was very good, she cared for me well. Sometimes, I wished she had been my mother. Later, she addicted to play card and lost a lot of money. To continue, she used my father's money to play. When I felt hungry, she said my father hadn't sent money yet. I was so innocent and didn't ask more. One time, I couldn't put up with my hunger and tiredness, I asked her again As the result, she got angry and hit me hard. From that day, I was got hit everyday, espeacially when she lost in card. I decided to escape from that house. I totally forgot that my father that my father would pick me up soon. I wandered on the street hoplessly. I missed my family and I fainted
