Chapter Forty-Four
Spectrum {[Apply Closed]}Younghun stood in the kitchen doing the dishes from Shin and Xue’s meal, deciding to give the two some private time together again. He really hoped that Shin could talk some sense into ha Joon – that he could convince the younger to report the bullying before it go any worse. As he was half-way through the dishes, Sora and Woojung walked in to put their left overs in the fridge, for a later point in time – probably later that day.
“So, you’ve finally put a title on it, huh?” stated Younghun, drying his hands off with a towel before turning to face the shocked duo that stood by the fridge.
“What –“
“You know what I’m talking about,” stated Younghun, smirking towards the younger males, “Congratulations on your relationship.”
“I told you he’d know,” muttered Sora, nudging Woojung in the side.
“It’s pretty obvious with the bright smiles you have as well as the look you are sending each other,” stated Younghun.
“What look?” questioned Sora, looking at Younghun innocently.
“Never mind that,” stated Younghun, returning to doing the dishes.
“Oh, hyung, has Hyun Soo-hyung talked to you yet?” questioned Sora, moving to stand beside the elder to look at his face.
The elder looked at Sora in question as he stated, “No, was I supposed to talk to him?”
“Ah, don’t worry about it,” stated Sora, suddenly running off and pulling Woojung with him.
Younghun turned his attention towards the doorway of the kitchen to see Hyunsoo standing there, watching Sora and Woojung pass with an eyebrow raised.
“They finally tie the knot?” questioned Hyunsoo, causing Younghun to laugh.
“I guess you could call it that,” stated Younghun, “Anyway, did you need something?”
“Ah, yeah,” stated Hyunsoo, “when you’re finished in here, come see me in my room.”
“Neh, hyungnim.”
Upon entering the manager’s bedroom, he could tell he wouldn’t like the outcomes of the private talk, “Do you think the boys are getting to know each other more?”
Younghun nodded, “Shin and Ha Joon have grown considerably closer, you saw the development between Woojung and Sora… Also, Sora’s getting Woojung to open up more – right now he seems to be working on getting him and our magnae closer.”
“What about Minhyun?” questioned Hyunsoo, a hidden glint in his eyes, “I know you’ve been paying quite a bit of attention to him recently.”
“He has a good relationship with Woojung – as per usual, he’s warming up to Shin as well, and he’s already pretty used to Sora it seems,” stated Younghun, “I just wouldn't really consider him being close with anyone other than Woojung.”
Hyunsoo then nodded, “What of your relations with the others?”
“What of my relations with the others?”
“As the leader, you should maintain a good relationship with all the other members,” stated Hyunsoo, “You are supposed to be their pillar pretty much, if they need help they need to be able to come to you for help. So, how do you think your relationships with the other members are?”
“I guess you could say I’m closest to Sora and Xue,” stated Younghun, “Woojung’s opened up around me a bit, but it’s still a bit awkward. As for Shin, we’ve never been awkward but we’re not too close either.”
“What of you and Minhyun?” questioned Hyunsoo upon seeing the leader’s hesitation.
Younghun stayed silent.
“It’s obvious that there is something going on between you two – and it’s not a good thing,” stated Hyunsoo, “The director adn the CEOs have also noticed the bad relations you have with him, plus, they’ve noticed that you’re not as close with the rest of the members as they thought you were – at least not as close as Shin seems to be to them.” Younghun stiffened up, “I don’t know what it is and I hate to say this, but they are really considering changing leaders – now more so than ever after your relationship with Minhyun went down the drain...”
Younghun nodded stiffly.
“Which is why I’m forcing you two to stay in this room by yourselves until your relationship improves,” stated Hyunsoo, “Also, with the agreement of the director, you and Minhyun’s individual practices will become joint practice – in hopes your relationship will improve, seeing as how neither of you will be able to avoid the other.”
Younghun nodded in understanding, keeping silent.
“Anyway, to warm you two up to the idea a bit, you two will be sharing a room starting tonight, also, tomorrow you two will go to a photo/CF shoot together – since you’ve both been requested as models. You’ve been requested to be the male model of the CF while both you and Minhyun have been casted and requested to be the models of the photo shoot.”
Younghun nodded yet again.
“Plus, the company wants to expand Minhyun into CF shoots as well, so this will be a good learning opportunity for him.”
“What is the shoot and CF for?”
“The perfume line Allure,” stated Hyunsoo, “It’s a more mature shoot, but you’re both twenty so that’s not an issue anymore. Also, we decided that this would be a better opportunity for you both to advance into a spectrum of different images that you can portray – in turn possibly making you both become more known models – although that is probably the last thing Minhyun wants to be famous for.”
Younghun chuckled, “So, it’s with a female model and will probably have more mature photos.”
Hyun Soo nodded, “Be expecting to be topless…It’s just something I’m guessing.”
Younghun nodded in understanding, “Why would they request me though? I have a cast on my arm still.”
“They don’t care,” stated Hyun Soo, “They can hide it depending on the poses they have you doing.”
Younghun nodded in understanding.
With that Hyunsoo sent Younghun out and called the recently arrived Minhyun into the room, alerting him of the same things – leaving out the fact that who holds the leader role might be changed. Minhyun wasn’t very accepting of the change and he wasn’t nearly as calm as Younghun either, however, in the end – he was left behind in Hyun Soo’s room. He had only been able to enter the other bedroom to retrieve the clothes he was going to wear to bed.
Minhyun had been left alone with the cheeky manager shouting, “Rest up, you’ll have a busy day tomorrow with your new roommate.”
Minhyun growled as he threw off his jeans – upon finally receiving his change of clothes – and slipped into the shorts that had been given to him. Upon being changed he threw himself onto the bed, slipping under the fresh silky sheets, hiding his face in the fluffy pillows to sulk – not that he’d ever admit it.
“Night,” stated the voice that Minhyun really did not want to hear as the door opened, dread and fear both appeared in his stomach – making their presence known through his pounding heart.
The room was dark but he could still see the leader’s figure moving through the room due to the pale moon light that came through the glass pane of the window, plus he could hear the faint rustle of clothing as the elder changed. The thought of the elder changing had Minhyun’s heart ready to beat out of his chest, his breath caught in his throat as he saw the bare skin of the oldest’s back.
“Put a shirt on,” muttered Minhyun, covering his face with a pillow again, not being able to stop the words before they slipped from between his lips.
“No,” responded Younghun, “now move over.”
“No, not until you put on a shirt.”
“Minhyun, if you haven’t noticed, it’s midnight and we’re due to wake up in four hours,” muttered Younghun, “I’m not in the mood for this.” He nudged the younger gently, “Move.”
“No.”
“Seriously, move over.”
“Not until you put a shirt on.”
“Minhyun, move.” A chill ran up Minhyun’s spine as the leader spoke in an abnormally husky tone, his voice laced with nearing exhaustion.
“No.”
“Then I’ll make you move.”
“You’ll hurt your arm again.”
“Then it’ll be your fault for not moving and you’ll have to take fully responsibility.”
“Younghun,” growled Minhyun, rolling onto his back to look at the leader.
“Minhyun,” retorted the oldest, returning his glance with a strong gaze.
“I’m glad you two are magically getting along now, but it would be greatly appreciated if you two would stop bickering like an old married couple!” called Jong Suk, “There are people in this building that are in charge of driving you all over South Korea, so if you don’t want to get into an accident I suggest you let said person sleep.”
“Mianhae, hyung!” called Younghun on behalf of both the Spectrum members.
However, they both fell silent, remembering that they were supposed to hate each other at this point in time due to the words they said to each other that morning. Upon being reminded of the fact Minhyun rolled over so that Younghun could lie down, also so that his back was towards the older male. As Younghun settled into the bed, Minhyun’s heart beat increased ever so slightly as he tried had to ignore the fact that the other male was lying shirtless beside him. Younghun on the other hand was trying hard to adjust himself so that he wasn’t laying on his cast while also trying to ignore the guilt that was bubbling up in his stomach from the words that he had previously said to Minhyun.
Unable to stand the awkward silence and unable to fall asleep, Younghun spoke up deciding that it would probably one of the best opportunities he would have to speak to the younger male without having to worry about anyone eavesdropping on their conversation.
“I’m sorry about the things I said, but I’m not going to take them back.”
“Then why bother apologizing?”
“B-because I feel guilty about hurting you,” stated Younghun.
Minhyun scoffed, “As if I would ever be hurt by your words.”
“So…you take the truth better than I thought you would.”
“It’s not the truth.”
“Then what is it?” Minhyun felt the leader’s eyes on him, even in the dark room. “Because last I checked, you are a coward Dong Minhyun.”
“You put Hyun Soo up to this.”
“Up to what?”
“Up to sticking the two of us together for the whole day and night for who knows how long.”
“Hyunsoo decided this on his own.”
“Don’t try to blame this on Hyunsoo or any of the others; I’m tired of you using others as a scapegoat.”
Younghun sighed, trying hard to hide the fact the words affected him more than he was letting show, “I’m done, you win Minhyun-sshi.” Minhyun had opened his mouth to respond, but he was cut off by the leader stating, in a stern this-argurement-is-over tone, “Goodnight, Minhyun.”
Yeah...I don't really know what I wrote, but hopefully it was good and you all enjoyed it. Happy belated New Years! I've returned to school - well, I did on the second, which means that my updates will become slower yet again - slower than they were in the past week or so. Anyway, hope you enjoyed. ^^
