Chapter Thirty-Three
Spectrum {[Apply Closed]}A loud thud reverberated through the empty flat, awakening Minhyun with a sudden jolt. The younger’s heart pounded in his chest, as a slight fear started to grow in his chest – he cautiously stood up and crept towards the entrance hall, where the sound had come from. As he moved towards the room, he felt relief fill his entire being as he heard an all too familiar voice cussing out some inanimate object.
“Dong Minhyun, get your lazy in here!” growled the voice of the leader, followed by a thud as the oldest lashed out on an object near his feet, Minhyun was guessing that it was some one’s poor shoes.
With a smirk plastered on his face, the male walked into the entrance hall, only for his smirk to fall from his face as he saw the condition the leader was in. Purple bruises decorated the elder’s face: there was one on his temple, his cheek bone, and a couple of light ones on his jaw and around his one eye. The one bruise that looked the worst was sitting on the corner of the elder male’s lip – the skin was an ugly black/purple/yellow and his bottom lip was busted open and slightly swollen. The bruises weren’t the worst of it though, Minhyun’s eyes traveled down the elder’s body to find that the elder’s whole hand was covered by a cast along with most of his fingers – only the finger tips were visible – and the male’s forearm. On top of that, the arm rested in a brace of some sort, which was preventing him from moving his shoulder.
Minhyun’s eyes then returned to make contact with the elder’s; he could see the exhaustion shining in them along with pain, there was also an emotion the younger could not decipher, along with a slight dazed glint – which he was suspecting was from the pain medication they probably had the elder on. The elder’s lighter brown eyes were quite alluring - not that those words would ever be spoken out loud - and they were the doorway to the leader’s mind, they were the only things that hinted at the elder’s true emotions, which rarely ever came out.
“Pick your up,” muttered Younghun, throwing Minhyun’s bag at its owner with his good arm.
“Watch your language hyung,” stated Minhyun, his usual arrogant act returning to the surface.
“You’re one to speak,” growled Younghun, in too much pain to deal with the younger’s stupidity, not caring too much for how out of character he was acting.
Minhyun rose an eyebrow, smirking as the elder actually gave him a glare, “What did you want hyung?”
The elder hunched over, sighing as he looked towards the younger with pleading eyes, "Jong Suk went home to visit his family and Hyun Soo was pulled away to a meeting, so could you please help me bring my things back upstairs?”
Minhyun peered at the elder in amusement as he stated, “I’m a lazy , aren’t I? Why should I help you? Why would you even bother asking?”
Younghun growled, “I’m not in the mood for your stupidity Dong Minhyun, will you help me or not?”
Minhyun pretended to think about it, trying to keep up the act that had become apart of him, protecting him from his growing feelings towards his group mate which he denied were even there.
“I guess I could help you, but it’ll cost you,” stated Minhyun with a smirk.
“I don’t care what it is, I’ll do it. Just help me bring my suitcases up here from the car since I’m obviously incapable of carrying all three by myself,” stated Younghun, “Please, just this once, don’t be an .”
Minhyun hummed, “Let’s go.”
Three floors later, the duo walked out of the building and into the parking lot – straight towards their manager’s car, where Younghun popped the trunk open leaning forward to grab a bag, only to be pushed forward – leading his head making harsh contact with the edge of the trunk, the male ignored the stinging on his forehead and spun on the balls of his feet to be greeted with the sight of Minhyun unconscious on the ground, the discoloration on his cheek and temple and neck hinting at the blow on the younger’s head and neck. Younghun felt his heart lurch up into his throat as he peered at the younger’s motionless body. Anger clouded his thoughts both towards his attackers and himself – how had he not heard the impact, the attacker's footsteps as they approached – but he kept a level head and turned his glare towards the six males that had surrounded him.
“Why they hell are you all doing this?”
“To get to Song Woo Jung...plus, we're being paid big bucks for your head...”
Younghun’s eye brows furrowed slightly as he growled out, striking out on his attacker, using his injured arm to block quite a few strikes as he did so. Anger pulsated through his veins along with concern as he fought back as well as he could. As the fight carried on longer and longer, the male silently cursed the medicine that was making his movements very sluggish - that made him very drowsy - practically taking away his ability to fight, to protect his group mate.
Shin and Xue’s conversation had been suddenly interrupted as a voice suddenly spoke up from the shadows surrounding them, “Look who we have here you guys, one third of Spectrum…”
“Who are you guys?” questioned Shin, automatically taking a fighting stance; he was not going to let them lay one finger on Xue, the trio surrounding them looked at him in amusement.
“You’re really going to attempt to take on all four of us – do you have a death wish?” questioned the attackers, cracking their knuckles as they moved forward.
Shin smiled, “I’m not the one with the death wish.”
With that the fight between the four was initiated, Xue – who was pretty much forgotten about by the outsiders - stood to the side, watching the fight in shock, watching as Shin fought all three of them without much difficulty.
As Woo Jung and Sora stepped out of the theater, they were greeted by a group of six males who all approached the duo, cornering them in the little alleyway outside the building. Woo Jung’s eyes narrowed on the seventh male who made his appearance, stepping in front of Sora as he glared at the new comer.
“Woo Jung, let’s see who is stronger now,” stated the male, a dangerous smirk playing on his lips as he looked at his watch, “Your leader and – I think his name is...Minhyun? Yeah, that's it, Minhyung. Anyway, they are probably both on their way to the hospital now, soon to be joined by your other group mates – Shin and Xue? Then finally you two will join ‘em.”
Woo Jung’s eyes widened and frowned, before smirking acting as if the news of his groupmates didn’t affect him, “You haven’t changed at all have you? You are still using your cheap tricks, huh? Tsk. I though you would learn by now, even by using those – you’ll lose in the long run. However, if you’ll quit with theses stupid attacks, I’ll willingly let you beat me. If it brings you such pleasure and such sense of success…”
The man glared and moved forward, “That would be too easy of a win – also a win is not a win without overkill.”
With that, the man motioned for the iniation of the attack and the seven began the trek forward, closing in on Woo Jung and Sora.
It's not very long, but I still hope you enjoyed it...Yesh, a short, random chappie. Kekeke...
