Chapter Fourteen: Xue
Spectrum {[Apply Closed]}The second youngest of the ten possible Spectrum members decided to spend his time off with his family – like the rest of his group mates. Upon entering his family’s home, he was bombarded by hugs from his mother and questions from his father. The edges of Ha Joon’s lips turned up into a smile as he stepped into his house – finally realizing just how much he had missed his parents in the past few months in which he had been busy with training with the nine other members – he couldn’t help but to think about what the others were doing and how their visits were going with their families.
“How has training been going?” questioned the boy’s father, peering at his son with pride, “Is it as glorious as I dreamed?”
The boy couldn’t help but to laugh at his father’s joking words, “It’s gotten harder with being in the final ten.”
“So?”
“So what?” questioned Ha Joon, looking at his father warmly.
“What is training for your final audition like?” questioned the father, “If it’s hard, push through it – the reward you get at the end of it is going to be worth it.”
Ha Joon smiled towards his father, “I know abeoji.”
“How have you been?” questioned his father, “Have you gotten any injuries? Have you been eating well?”
“You sound more like his mother than I do,” stated Ha Joon’s mother, pulling her son close and putting towards her husband, she then turned her attention back towards her son, “But seriously, have you been well? Have you gotten any injuries? Have you been eating well? Has anyone been mean to you? If so, tell me who and they’ll regret it!”
Ha Joon smiled towards his mother, having had missed her during his time at the dorms, “I’ve been well, eomma, abeoji. Don’t worry there have been no injuries. They’ve been feeding us well – and have been allowing us to get plenty enough sleep. Also, no eomma, no one has been mean to me. The hyungs are all nice.”
“What about the younger boy?” questioned his mother warily.
“Jay is fine; he respects us – his hyungs.”
The woman nodded before pulling her son into the house, “Come on in, there is no reason for us to be standing by the doorway, this house is still your home – you don’t need to wait for permission to enter the house.”
Ha Joon let a radiant smile spread over his face at his mother’s words, however, as his mother pulled him into the living room, he glanced around – looking for his younger siblings.
“Where are Haowen and Aemii?” questioned Ha Joon.
“Your sister and brother are up in their room,” stated his mother, “I was going to go get them once we got you settled in for the day.”
“Just call them down here,” stated Ha Joon’s father, earning a sigh form his mother.
“Haowen! Aemii! We have a surprise for you!” called Ha Joon’s mother, smiling kindly towards her soon who was surprised to see that his mother still had her unique fashion sense despite the months he had been away.
Anyway, as soon as the words left his mother’s lips, the soft patter of two younger children running down stars echoed through the nearly silence halls of the house.
As soon as the five year old – who had been the first down the stairs and into the room – walked into the room, his legs were already carrying him the teen’s way; the five year old squealed in delight at the sight of his older brother.
“Hyung!” called the little boy, running to his older brother who was already kneeling down, his arms open to accept the five year old into a hug, “I missed you hyung.”
The boys’ parents smiled as they watched the interaction between their two sons, as for their daughter, she moved to stand beside her mother, staring at her brothers shyly – her innocent mind still thinking that her two brothers were holders of the dreaded ‘coodies.’
“Hey Aemii,” stated Ha Joon, looking at his sister who smiled at him and nodded in greeting.
“Hyung, let’s play a game!” called Haowen, getting his brother’s attention yet again, not that Aemii minded too much.
“What sort of game?” questioned Ha Joon, smiling radiantly towards his younger brother – the duo’s parents stood off to the side, watching the two in slight shock since Ha Joon didn’t smile so much outside of their house and plus, Haowen only really smiled so brightly when his hyung was around.
“Hide and seek, Aemii-noona can play with us if she’d like,” stated Haowen, smiling warmly towards his hyung before turning toward his noona, with a pleading expression.
The seven-year-old girl smiled and nodded towards her oppa and dongseang, the trio then moved into another portion of the house – Ha Joon spent a good portion of his day off playing with his dongseangs and finally got a break from their energy once they were sent to bed after dinner. Once his dongseangs were asleep, he went back to sit with his parents in their living room, to talk to them for a little bit before going to bed, since he - like the other spectrum members - had missed his family greatly during their period of living in the dorms.
"How is training going?" asked the boy's father, smiling towards his son, who looked tired.
"It's going good," stated Xue, "It's pretty hard, but I'm used to it already. From what I heard, our practices are going to be harder and longer once we return, due to the final round of auditions being just around the corner."
His father nodded in understanding.
"Be sure to take care of your self," stated Xue's mother, caressing her son's cheek, "Be sure to rest well and eat well during the next few weeks and work hard - but be sure to keep an eye on your health, keep an eye out for your group mates as well - you all seem to be coming down to the breaking point, to the point where you all have to depend on each other but also keep your distance from each other since at the showcase, despite being in the same group, you all are going against each other, fighting for the same six spots."
Xue nodded, smiling towards his mother, "Neh, eomma."
"Also, if it gets to be too much, call me," stated his mother, "Also, always remember this, even if you don't make it into the group, your abeoji and I will always be here to support you, we'll always be behind you supporting you - as cliche as that sounds. We'll always be proud of you, and if you don't make it this time, there is always a chance for next time."
Xue smiled at his mother's words, nodding, "Neh, eomma."
"Now, let's talk about something else," stated his abeoji, "Such as your group mates."
Xue laughed at how eager his father was, he nodded and the night continued on with Xue answering all his parent's questions and telling his parents all about his nine group mates - the nine that would be his opponents in the final audition, despite being his friends.
Here is Ha Joon's chapter, I hope you all enjoyed it. ^^ It's short, I know, but I'm in a slight rush to put this up, so here it is.
Guys, there are only three individual chapters remaining.
I thought I had the members I was going to pick figured out, but once again, I've become indecisive about what members I'm going to pick. The longer this story goes on, the more attached I grow to the different characters - especially after you guys wrote your chapters. As much as I don't want to anymore, I'm going to end up having to pick five of your guys' characters for the group. I honestly would keep all ten, but it's really hard to keep track of ten characters. Sorry for babbling on, but I just thought I'd let you all know of my delimma, since your characters are the ones causing it...kekeke.
