Class room duty
A Wall In betweenJae Hwa kicked my chair. I jumped. The teacher was coming.
I looked at her and mouthed thanks and looked ahead. Wow, it' was physics. The subject I hate most! The lesson always goes by slowly... I just stared outside the window, wondering how the cherry blossoms were doing. It's has been long since I've planted them there with my friends. I looked at the clock. Oh, there was only 10 minutes left.
"Everyone, Please listen up.". Class stopped 10 mins early surpisingly.
"We need 2 students who can do the cleaning for this term." Everyone either looked away and pretended they didn't hear anything.
'"Myungsoo, why don't you try this term." All eyes were on Myungsoo so he couldn't refuse.
"Ok, one more person"
"I think Hyunsoo should do it, Sir. Well, she is class president. She should set an example.",a voice that sounded really familiar said. I turned around to see Hoo Sook. I should've known she would be matchmaking again! Aish.. before I could say anything, my teacher said "Ok then it's decided. Myungsoo and Hyunsoo up for cleaning duties starting today."
I heard giggles and whispers from all over the classroom.
"Myungsoo and Hyunsoo! Hehehe"
I looked down at the table in embarrassment. Just at that moment the bell went off. What a perfect timing. I got up and headed to Hoo Sook, who headed out of the door trying to escape from me. I chased after her. My other friends running after me singing 'Myungsoo and Hyunsoo'. How childish. Are we really in our last year of high school?
I was so close to Hoo Sook when 5 hands grabbed me from my back. Hoo sook stopped. Turned and said "I did it for you. What if you come to like this guy?"
"What if I dont come to like him?",I asked.
"You wanna bet?", she questioned.
"Anytime", I replied
"Yah, Hoo Sook! Dont you know I like him?", Mi Jin interfered.
"There you go why can't she be the sacrifice? Nominate her!", I exclaimed. Hoo Sook ignored my question and faced Mi Jin.
"Yes we all know you like him but you don't see him everyday. Do you?". Are they planning to let me see his face twenty four hours a day?
Hoo sook turned back to me and said, "You do see his face 24 7 don't you? Even if you don't see his face you atleast hear him snore or something" reading my mind.
"Its probably her who snores and him who hears her", Jae Hwa joked. Everyone laughed.
"I already feel his presence everywhere. It's intimidating.", I said looking on the floor.
Mi Jin jumped infront of me from nowhere "Intimidating? Girl I would give up anything to be in your place right now"
"I would give up anything not to be in my place right now", I replied.
"We are coming over to your place today" Mi Jin said.
"What? Today? No you can't!" I shouted.
Everyone choursed yes. "It might cheer Hyun Jae up. We haven't seen her for a week now. She said she felt better when I talked to her yesterday." Sun Hi said. There was a silence while I thought.
"Oh my god, look at the time. We better get to class", Young min said breaking the silence.
We all went back to the class and took our seats. Our teacher soon followed. It was the beginning of biology class our teacher announced that we will be doing dissections in pairs. And right next to me was the person I would not want to be my partner at any cost. And then she announced it.
"You will be doing the dissections with the person next to you".
Damn it!
