I declare war!!
A Wall In between
All of a sudden, a loud tune came on. The doorbell?
Unexpected visitors? I Wonder who...
Mum opened the door as I brought my attention back to my work.
I was just about to coutinue when mum yelled "Hyunsoo" giving me a fright.
"Come and welcome our new neighboughs." Great there goes my free time. I got up and made my way downstairs, as soon as I entered I was greeted by a cold stare. The shock on my face clearly showed.
"Go and get them tea, Hyunsoo." I quickly straightened up and headed straight to the kitchen to get tea. What is he doing here in MY house? Isn't torturing me infront of my class enough for him? Does he have to come here and embrass me infront of my mum aswell? Aish, and I thought things couldnt get worse. I went back to see, my mum getting on so well with his.
I placed the tray full cups of tea and gave out plates of pudding. I took my seat and returned Myungsoo's glares while my mum served. It was awkward. His mum and mine were talking non stop while Myungsoo, his brother and I sat there staring into space. I realized how much his brother resembled Myungsoo. He's just younger and a bit shorter but just as handsome with the same black messy hair and slim bulit body. You can tell they are brothers just by looking at them. His mum seems to be in her mid fourties, around my height with shoulderlength black hair.
My mum noticed how uncomforable it was for us so she decided to give them a tour around our house. I didn't want to sit there like a loner so I decided to tag along. My mum took the lead his mum by her side with his brother and him close behind. I followed the two brothers right at the end.
What a covincidence, my door was wide open which caught everyones attention. My room wasn't much. A single bed in the corner next to the window with pink bed sheets. Beside it, was a little bed table with a few mangas scattered all over it. In the other coner I had my desk with my maths homework on it. Quiet messy but it could be worse. Top right coner, was three shelves with a few awards on the top, study books in the middle and manga books at the bottom. There was a small white table in the middle of the room. Similar to a coffee table I guess. It also had some manga books and tea cups scattered on it. Underneath the table was a pink rug which was placed on our the wooden floor. The walls were light pink. I have a piano against one of the walls which I covered with a white blanket. I used to play the piano a long time ago but I decided to quit. I looked up after examining my room everyone was staring in like they never saw anything like it in their lives. Is it that bad? I've seen worse though. I glanced up at my mum who gave me a disappointed look. Now that I look at it as a whole, it was really messy. I turned and looked at Myungsoo's brother whose attention was completely on the manga books.
"You read manga. That's awesome!". His voice was filled with excitement. Then I looked at Myungsoo who was staring at the piano covered with a white blanket with an emotionless face. It seems to have caught his attention. His expression darkened. Maybe he doesn't like music. Or maybe he just didn't expect me to play an instrument.
He felt my stare and quickly changed his attention on my desk where he spotted my maths homework.
"We had maths homework? I completely forgot", he said.
"You should better go and do it. Our teacher is really nice but he is really strict when it comes to homework.' I replied.
Everyone gave us confused looks.
"What are you two talking about?" asked Myungsoo's brother.
"We go to the same school", Myungsoo replied.
"We are actually in the same class", I added. Everyones stares hardened.
"You could have told us before dear." said mum. Well noone asked us.
"Mum I'm going home I need to do the homework", he said and headed downstairs, with me following behind. It reminded me of our little walk through the corridor. This was the perfect opportunity to push him but as tempting as it was, I couldn't allow myself to commit such a sin. We reached the front door. He opened the door and I looked at him step outside.
He left the house with his final words "You were the one who made the pudding right. It was full of holes. It goes to show that you are a beginner.", he was about to shut the door. I quickly put my foot between him and the door preventing him from shutting it and said
"Are you trying to declare a war. If it's a war you want its a war you'll get!" and then slammed the door shut.
