Prolouge : Another Year
A Wall In between
I'm finally in the last year of High school. Thinking back, I realized the last four years haven't been interesting at all. We went through the same dull routine every single day. The most interesting thing I've done was staying after school studying for the upcoming exams. That was sarcasm by the way! Anyways, I'm glad I got the window seat this time around looking over tall people's heads is hard, especially for someone short like me. Is it just me or does the scenery look much better during a boring lesson? I haven't seen such a clear sky in a while. Is this a sign that something will happen today or is it just me making things up again? Now that I look closer nothing has changed since I set a foot onto this school. It's sti-
"Hyunsoo. Lee Hyunsoo! How long do you want me to stand here and call you?" Mrs Jang asked with a rude tone cutting through my thoughts.
I stood up instinctively in shock and apologized, bowing my head. I looked straight up into a boy's eyes. My eyes widened. Who is he? His eyes, they are giving off a cold aura telling me to look away.. Despite that he is really handsome.
"Lee Hyunsoo! Did you hear what I just said?" The teacher shouted.
"Oh sorry, I didn't hear what you said Miss. Could you repeat that please?" I replied bowing my head three times to show her how sorry I was.
The class started laughing. I gave off an embarrassed smile. The teacher shook her head in disappointment.
"He is Kim Myungsoo, the new transfer student. As the class president, you should help and show him around the school at break!"
The whole class stared at me for a while especially some of the girls who gave me glares, as if I have just committed a sin. I sighed, nodded and sat back down and continued to look outside. I am Lee Hyunsoo, 15 years old and a year 11 student and I forgot to mention I'm also the Class President. So as I was saying, it hasn't changed at all. Miss handed out three to four worksheets to do. I started doing it as soon as it touched the table.
The bell for break went off, thats when looked at the clock and noticed the time. Two hours passed by very quickly. I didn't even see it going. Oh yeah, I need to take the new guy around. I stood up and made a gesture at him telling him to follow. He stood up and did as I asked.
We explored in silence. He was really handsome when I looked at him more closely. He displayed and image of the so called 'prince charming' every girl would dream of at the age of eight. To me, it was more like prince 'I won't smile'. Besides his great looks, his eyes were really intimidating as if they told me to stay quiet and just keep walking.
To break this awkward silence, I decided to start asking some questions.
"So, where are you from?" No reply. Maybe thats too personal. I'll ask him something else.
"Which school did you go to before you came here?" He suddenly stopped walking.
"You are annoying!"
