A Wall In between
'I'm really sorry Hyunsoo ah. I dont know what got into me. I guess we should try and spend the last few months in peace. We will see who the better one is fair and square. Keep smiling fail aegyo girl. Ji Hyun'.
I smiled again.
Maybe I just misunderstood her for all these years.
"Here are your notes by the way unnie", Young Mi said while handing me sheets with notes neatly written out.
"Have you given a copy to Myungsoo yet", I asked.
"Worried?", Hoo Sook smiled.
"Lol no! He would blame me if he failed his exams. Just to make sure he wont. The photocopier is upstairs in my room if you need it", I said.
"Yes yes we've been here so many times already we should know where everything is by now", Sun Hi pointed out.
"True. I can never keep you guys away from my house. You guys are magically attracted to my house as if its a magnet or something", I smiled. Everyone giggled.
"Sorry we cant do anything about it. Its the laws of physics!", Hyun Jae joked. Young Mi went upstairs to get the notes photocopied.
"So want us to tutor you on everything we learned today?", Mi Jin asked with excitement.
"No thanks I'm fine with the notes", I rejected her knowing that she wants to shout at me while teaching me because thats what I always do to her. "Nice try though!".
"So what will you eat before your mum returns? She does know you have you foot hurt right?", Hoo Sook asked.
"Yes I told her. She did panick but I told her that I'm old enough to look after myself and I had strawberries..", I stopped.
"Thats really bad you should eat woman", Hyun Jae said.
"How about Mi Jin and I go to the pizza store to get everyone a pizza? Do you want one too Monsoon?", Jae Hwa asked.
"Well Hyung is asleep. Shall I come and help you carry the things?", he asked.
"Jae Hwa why are you being so nice?", I asked her. I couldnt trust her.
"Because its your treat", she smiled.
"Geez okay get 3 large Pizzas. One veg and 3 non veg. And Monsoon can you get us a bottle of coke?", I asked. He nodded.
"Young Mi ah. Can you get me my wallet from upstairs?", I shouted.
"Yes", she shouted back.
Mi Jin and Jae Hwa got up ready to go and so did Monsoon.
"Hey Monsoon do wake your brother up while you are at it. He did say he lost a kilo so I will make him gain it.", I said. He nodded once again. Young Mi ran downstairs with a copy of her notes and my wallet. She handed me my wallet.
"Can I have the nice copy of your notes?", I asked. I know I'm selfish hehehe. But her notes are colourful and really neat while mine... dont go there.
"Sure", she handed me the oroginal copy and gave Monsoon the photocopy.
"Thanks", he smiled, " Hyung will appretiate it".
I handed my wallet to Mi Jin. I dont know who to trust with the wallet as both are equally careless and when put together they are even less careless. I handed some coins to Monsoon.
"Mi Jin I trust you with my wallet. If anything happens to it you are dead", I said.
"Why are you telling the older ones?", she asked.
"I trust Monsoon", I exclaimed.
"So you dont trust us? How rude.", she said.
"Of course she doesnt. You should know her by now", Jae Hwa cut through. We all laughed.
Monsoon was the first to leave as he went next door to drop of Myungsoos notes. Mi Jin and Jae Hwa left after while talking to eachother. Now it was just Hyun Jae, Sun Hi, Young Mi, Hoo Sook and I. There was a silence between us three.
"Strawberries.. anyone?" I asked handing them the bowl. They all took some.
"Gosh its so boring", Hoo Sook said.
"Well naah", I pointed out giving her a glare. She quickly looked away. I love doing that to her. Its so funny.
"Wanna play a game?", Young Mi suggested. Her games are mostly about Love etc. You get the point.
"Depends", Hyun Jae said.
"We take turns picking on someone and we ask them a question and they have to answer truthfully", she explained.
"What if we dont", I asked.
"We can all tell if anyone lies. We have all been together for years.", she had a point.
"Fine", Sun Hi said.
"Okay Sun Hi do you still like that dude you were dating last year?", Hoo Sook started.
"Well", she started of. It was a difficult question for her. "I still do like him. He was really nice to me and treated me well. But when I heard from Ji Eun that he is one of those bad boys who hang out in gangs, smoke etc. I decided to break up..", she stopped. I never knew this much. I guess I feel sorry for her. She still loves him.
"You shouldnt listen to anyones opinion." I said.
"Who cares now! He probably thinks I dont like him anymore and thinks I'm one of those girls who just play around", she said. She does really like him. One thing is that they were such an awkward couple who were too shy to actually talk to eachother but they were really affectionate for eachother.
"I dont think it will work out between us anyways. Lets move on I'm depressing everyone". I guess even our energy pill can stop working.
"Its my turn right? Umm lemme see I will ask Hoo Sook. Do you still like that Min Ki guy? The one you liked 2 years ago.", she asked.
"No no no.", she started of. "He wasnt made for me. But he is a nice guy.", she smiled. I guess people do mature over time.
"My turn again. Hyun Jae do you
like anyone?", she couldnt think of another question. Hyun Jae shook her head. Its our Hyun Jae after all.
"So my turn. Young Mi. Lets stop those do you like blah blah blah questions. What was the most embarrassing moment you had." Hyun Jae asked Young Mi.
"I had so many. Probably when I slipped in class and Hyunsoo had to catch me", she laughed. "But Hyunsoo fell down with me", she laughed even more.
"Nothing or no one can beat the slipping queen Hyunsoo. Always slips but only falls occasionally!", Sun Hi laughed.
"Okay now thats over and done with, Hyunsoo is the only one left! I know Hyun Jae and you are like really rare girls who hardly get a crush. And I'm really sorry I'm bringing this up again but I'm curious. Have you had any proper crushes?" she asked.
"Well", I thought, "I had around 2/3 when I was little but those were just for a few days. I probably liked those guys because they were nice to me and let me play with their toy cars. But now that I think about it I dont have that many crushes. I occasionally look in a magazine or on TV and think a guy is good looking but I guess thats all."
"Woaah ice queen indeed.", Hyun Jae commented. I giggled.
"What about Myungsoo tell us your honest opinion about him", Hoo Sook said.
"He is... kinder than he used to be when he started", It was hard to describe him, "But I dont have any feelings for him or anything like you all might think. Well I admit the first time I saw him I did think he was quite good looking but I think that about many actors and singers but that doesnt mean I like all of them. To be honest I hated him when we first met. He called me annoying when I showed him around", I laughed, " But I guess he is growing closer to me and he can be nice if he wants to but just doesnt want to. He isolates himself from the class. I find it strange. People would normally find as many friends as the can on day one and continue their lives but this guy he is abnormal. But to answer your question no I dont like him!", I answered fully and in detail.
"Well I guess Hyunsoo remains Hyunsoo. No one can change her! Not even Mystery boy!", Hyun Jae laughed. We all joined in.
At that moment, the bell went off. I should get that thing removed some time...
