It was the next day. I followed my routine to cook and clean the house before actually gettin ready to go school. After I finally completed the chores, the family I was staying with finally woke up and got dressed. To be precise, they were my aunt and two cousins. I felt like Cinderella when I did the chores. Maybe Hyunsoonella? Or maybe not! I finally got out of my house and walked to the stop. I got my phone out to call my mum and talked to her on the way there. I told her about the new job and everything else. To be perfectly honest, I expected all of this anyways. She told me not to worry too much. I didn't exactly worry either. My co workers were really nice anyways. I got on the bus and continued talking.
"If it gets too bad, you should go and stay with your neighbour eomeoni!" She said. I thought about it and just said "Don't worry mum, I think I'd be fine for now. I might be able to avoid them for the time being like that, but since they are related to us, we'd never be able to escape from the fact. I'll be fine!"
"Just, you know what to do now if she doesn't treat you right!" She said.
"Yes sure!" I replied. As I reached my school bus stop, we said our good byes and I put down my phone. I got off and started walking towards school. It was clearly getting much warmer. I reached the school gates.
"Shorty!" I heard a voice. I turned around and saw Myungsoo running up to me. I waited there for him.
"Want to go somewhere on the weekend?" He asked.
"I have work remember?" I asked.
"But that's just for 6 hours! What are you going to do after that?" He asked.
"Go home.. I guess", I answered. I wasn't planning on doing much either.
"Seems like you want to do Cinderella duties at home. Then scrap my idea, if you'd rather go home!" He said and started walking towards the building.
"Wait!" I grabbed his sleeve.
"What is it Cinderella? Changed your mind?" He asked.
"Where to?" I asked. He thought about it.
"The beach?" He asked.
"In this weather?" I asked. He looked up and pointed at the sun.
"It's getting warmer. Besides, it will be much warmer during the weekend." He said.
"On both days?" I asked.
"You're too demanding!!" He complained. "It was your idea!" I argued back.
"We can decide on saturday then!" He said. "Besides, what made you change your mind?"
"Cinderella snuck out too, remember? So why can't I?" I asked.
"That's all?" He asked. I shook my head. "I don't want to stay there!" I replied. Myungsoo looked at me holding his sleeve.
"You can let go now!" He pointed out. I looked at my hand, holding onto his sleeve. I quickly took my hand back. "Sorry", I bowed in embarrassment. He chuckled. "It was a joke." He laughed. I looked up to him laughing.
"It was a pretty tasteless on too!" I pointed out.
"You are red", he teased. I punched his arm.
"Shut up!" I walked on. He laughed once more and followed soon after. We had classes as normal and after school ended, Myungsoo told me to go ahead as he would take care of class duty himself. I thanked him and headed off to work. As I reached work, I was greeted by my co workers and manager. I got dressed and started working. I served customers like normal for an hour.
"Can I order?" I heard a customer said.
"Sure, I'll be right there!" I said and walked to the table to find Myungsoo sitting there.
"What are you doing here idiot?" I asked in shock.
"It's master to you!" He corrected.
"Who cares, just tell me why you are here. You promised me not to come back", I said. He looked at me and smiled.
"I'm sorry, but that's one promise I can't keep!" He smiled. I just looked at him for a while and sighed. I handed him the menu card.
"How can I help you today?" I asked. He broke into a smile. My manager came up to us.
"Oh, you're Hyunsoo's boyfriend." She said.
"Manager, he is not my boyfriend!" I complained.
"That's what they all say", she laughed.
"Well, he is not!" I said.
"Did you come to drop Hyunsoo off? You're really early today." She asked.
"I just stopped by." He said.
"Arww! What are caring boyfriend you have Hyunsoo!" She spazzed and hit my shoulder. Myungsoo and I gave her a dumbfounded look.
"What time does her shift end on saturday and sunday?" He asked the manager.
"It's from 9 to 3! Why?" He asked.
"Well we were thinking off going-" Myungsoo got cut off.
"Kyaaa!! You are going on a date? Of course you can!" The manager spazzed.
"It's not a date manager nim!" I protested.
"Anyways, can this remain between us three?" Myungsoo asked.
"You don't want your aunt to know?" She asked. Myungsoo nodded. "So she won't know about this?" She asked. I nodded. Her smile grew bigger. She patted my shoulder.
"I see you both have reached the rebellious age." She said before spazzing once more. Myungsoo just chuckled. I handed Myungsoo the menu card.
"Master, could you please order?" I said with a threatening tone. He took the card off me and thought about it.
"Master, could you please make an order today? Other customers are waiting!" I said with an annoyed tone.
"Now, now Hyunsoo! The others can take of the other customers. He is a special customer who only you could serve!" She said and walked away.
"Manager!" I pouted.
"I'll have one banana split!" He said.
"Did it that you this long to decide on a banana split?" I asked.
"There is too much variety!" He argued back. "Yeah, right!" I said before going and getting his order. I took the plate and brought it to him.
"Please don't take your time master!" I gave him a sarcastic smile.
"Don't worry, I will Hyunhyun!" He smiled back.
"What's with the nickname?" I asked.
"As a maid you should have a nickname! Do you prefer Hyunie or Hyunhyun!" He asked.
"Please just eat the banana split and get lost, master!" I smiled.
"Then I'll call you both!" As he said that I left to continue serving the other customers. However, Myungsoo spent 2 and a half hours eating just one banana split and finished at 8 when I finished my shift. As I got out of the staff room, Myungsoo was standing there waiting. I walked up to him.
"Why are you still here?" I asked.
"Well you see, now that I finished my order and you finished your shift, I can drop you home", he smiled.I smiled back.
"One second, I'll be right back", I said before going back to the staff room.
"I'll be heading home then!" I said.
"Alone?" The manager asked.
"No, I'm going with her", Myungsoo answered for me. I turned around and he was standing there.
"Myungsoo, you can't just wander around here!" I said.
"Why?" He asked.
"Because it's off limit to staff only!" I replied.
"But I'm your guardian! Doesn't that mean I'm kinda like a staff too?" He asked.
"No!" I gave him an instant reply.
"You're so mean, Hyunhyun!" He pouted.
"Hyunhyun?" The manager and a few girls giggled.
"It's her maid nickname. Doesn't every maid here have a nickname?" He asked. They all nodded.
"It's either Hyunhyun or Hyunie", he smiled. The girls all awed. I glared at Myungsoo.
"Come on Hyunhyun! Let me drop you home." He said and both of us left the store and he walked me home.
