A Wall In between
"Hyunsoo ah go get the door", Mum shouted.
I wonder who...
I opened the door. It was Myungsoo.
"What brings you here?", I asked. My mum heard the noise and came to the front door.
"Good morning. I want to help my dongsaeng revise today.", he smiled.
What??
"Oh you are Myungsoo? Right? Do come in it's a wonderful idea to revise when the exams are so close.", my mum agreed with him. My mouth opened wide.
"I did teach my dongsaeng and her friends for a while yesterday but I want to them to pass of course with the best mark the can get so I came to teach them again. But I guess they are busy", he said giving my mum a wide smile.
"Well they wanted to watch a new movie. Who was that actor again from Boys over flowers. Lee Min Jae? No no-"
"Lee Minho", we all sang in harmony.
"Yes of course him. But the movie nor the cinema will run away. So listen to Myungsoo oppa's advice and get some revision done", she said.
Myungsoo 'oppa'? I heard him giggle.
"Go on your oppa is busy aswell so go revise.", my mum said.
"But mum!", I rebelled.
"Lee Hyunsoo there are no buts. I will buy you the Blue ray DVD when it comes out just concentrate for now", she said
"Oh right I have to go somewhere.", Jae Hwa said.
"Yeah me too", Mi Jin added.
"Nice try you both had time to go watch a movie. Now stay here and study!", she demanded.
I couldn't argue back. No one else could either. I pouted and kept quiet. We all headed upstairs with me taking the lead into my room and sat down.
"Meehrong", he said while sticking his tongue out. He done it on purpose. He knew about the movie and everything. Well we were being a bit loud about it yesterday...
"Lee Hyunsoo quit daydreaming and get me that book on the top shelf", he demanded.
"But I can't reach that...", I said quietly.
"Oh I completely forgot you're small.", he laughed.
What's wrong with him? At that moment mum came upstairs.
"Hyunsoo ah arent you going to offer your oppa some tea", she asked.
"Of course I forgot. Myungsoo 'oppa' would you like some tea?", I asked in a sarcastic tone.
"Of course but on one condition. My dongsaeng has to make it herself.", he grinned.
That little... I went downstairs and made everyone some tea and took it upstairs. He started giving us a bunch of question papers to do. And more. And more.
"Okay. I got a final question for everyone.", he said handing us a piece of paper with a question on it.
"This is so easy", I faked smiled.
"Go on", he said.
I looked at the question and started doing it. I thought for 5 minutes and got stuck. I turned to face everyone. No one had a clue.
"Myungsoo ah. We are all stuck can you help us?", I asked.
"Umm If you call me oppa then maybe yes", he said grinning.
Forget him. I attempted it again. And again. And again. No success.
"Myungsoo can you help us we are really stuck", I asked again.
"Try again", he said.
"Fine. Myungsoo 'oppa' can you help us with this question?", I asked.
"Magic word", he asked.
"Myungsoo 'oppa' can you help us with this question PLEASE", I tried again.
"More enthusiasm".
"Myungsoo Op-", I started off but was cut off.
"Do aegyo", he demanded.
"Huh?"
"Do aegyo.", he said again demonstrating bunny aegyo.
"HELP US WITH THE DAMN QUESTION WILL YOU?", I demanded.
"I cant", he said.
"Why", I asked.
"Its a question from a 12th grade book", he said casually.
"YOU!".
At that moment mum walked in again with some iced tea for Myungsoo. I was standing up.
"Did I miss anything", she asked
I grabbed it and drank it.
"Thanks that cooled me down", I said giving her back the glass.
"Well that was actually for your Myungsoo oppa but if it helped you that's fine", she said and went downstairs. I followed.
"I'm going to watch TV if you want to join me feel free to.", I left.
Myungsoo was the first to follow, followed by everyone else.
I the TV and watched it. Myungsoo grabbed it and changed it. I grabbed it back and changed it back to the drama.
"Can you two decide?", Hoo Sook said annoyed.
"I'm the guest so I can decide", he said.
"You've got a TV next door go watch it there", I replied. He gave back the remote he grabbed off me. Hours past and we were on an emotional scene.
"That dude is so stupid he could hav-"
"Shhh", we all shushed him.
We then started crying one by one. Myungsoo couldn't take it anymore and took his leave.
"Myungsoo ah give this to your brother and mother and eat with them", mum said while handing him a bag of food.
"Thank you Ajumma", he smiled.
"Dongsaeng I'm leaving", he teased me.
"The door is right there", I replied.
He laughed and said bye to everyone else and left.
