It was now evening in Taipei and as the night approached a cold chill covered the mountain where Zhong Ji Yi Ban were camping. Currently, they were all surrounding the fire, roasting marshmallows and singing. Although Yu Yan did not participate, she sat in between Da Dong and Wu Xiong, nibbling on her marshmallow and listening quietly to the singing around her.

"Wo zhi you zhe yi qian ling yi ge yuan wang

Sha Jie finished the last part of her song before getting praised by a round of applause and cheers. "Not bad, not bad at all." Yu Yan admitted, slowly clapping, even though she did not like her.
Sha Jie smirked, confidently, as she sat back down in her seat and high fived her friends.

"Sha Jie~ You sang like an angel!" Jin Bao San cooed, rubbing his face on Sha Jie's shoulder like a cat.
"Go away you freak!" she yelled, pushing him away before turning to look at Da Dong with loving eyes. "Da Dong~" she said cutely, "Did you like my song?"

Da Dong smiled and gave her a thumbs up, "It was great, I didn't know you were so good at singing."
Sha Jie came over with happiness and gushed to her friends about Da Dong's compliment. She then looked at Yu Yan with a sneer, "Can you do better?"
Yu Yan laughed, "I don't sing."
Liang Zhi looked over as well, with a small but fake smile, "Classmate Jiang, why not make today a first?"
Yu Yan crossed her arms, "You're funny. I said I don't sing."
"Aw, what's the harm?" Tian Xin chimed, beaming, "Zhong Ji Yi Ban has never had a singing competition before! It will be so fun!"
"I don't want to sing! Why don't you?" Yu Yan rolled her eyes.

Da Dong looked at Yu Yan before hesitating, "Why doesn't someone else sing?"
"We want Yu Yan to sing!" a student replied followed by a buzz of consensus.
"I don't know any songs," Yu Yan answered, "But I'm not going to sing anyway."
"Is it that you don't sing... or you can't sing?" Sha Jie challenged as her friends laughed.
"It doesn't matter which it is; I'm not going to sing either way." she replied.
"You're scared, aren't you?" Sha Jie questioned before laughing.
"Chicken!" Lin Da and Tao Zi added together.
"Okay girls, don't provoke her!" Tian Xin interrupted, "Don't ruin the lovely atmosphere."

"Why am I the one getting the blame? Ban Dao, you favour her more than me!" Sha Jie exclaimed, annoyed.
"That's because you're the problem," Yu Yan smirked, "You get riled up way too easily though it is fun to hear."
"Yu Yan, please don't start!" The form tutor pleaded as she watched her put another marshmallow onto the end of her stick.
"I don't plan to," she responded, amused but calm.

"Classmate Jiang, since you've lived in Japan for a while why don't you sing us a Japanese song?" Xia Ba suggested.
Well, transferring from Japan was a lie, I've never ever been there before, Yu Yan replied in her mind before chewing slowly on the roasted sweet, "I said already that I don't want to sing. Did your hearing get damaged too?" she asked, referring to the attack Xia Ba was a victim of.
Xia Ba ignored her last comment, "I will sing if you sing."
"I don't want to hear you sing." Yu Yan replied.

"If I sing, will you sing?" Xiao Yu suddenly asked.
Upon hearing him, Yu Yan laughed, "What makes you think you're so influential on me?"

Ya Se quickly cleared his throat to shift everyone’s attention before he began to sing slowly, "Wu jie de yan shen
Xin xiang hai di zhen"

A stare that is hard to understand

A heart that is difficult to ascertain

Everyone then looked at him, and Ya Se waited for someone to continue the song. He looked at Da Dong who looked just as confused as everyone else and he cleared his throat as a signal to him to continue. “Narcissist, did you catch Xiao Yu’s cold?” Da Dong asked and Ya Se sweat dropped.

“Egomaniac you idiot!” he hissed back at him, kicking him. “Did you even learn the script!?”

Da Dong laughed sheepishly before quickly whipping out the script and brushing his eyes over it. His mouth opened wide as realisation hit him in the face.

"Guang shi cai ce
Wo shi yu bu zhen" he sang a little awkwardly as his classmates stared at them, confused. Ya Se sighed, relieved.

I have a jaded appetite from guessing

Xiao Yu looked at his brothers before continuing, "You dian fan ren
Yo you dian mi ren"

Quite annoying

And also quite attractive

The three of them then shot their gaze at Yu Yan who stuttered, mumbling under her breath, "Why is the stupid writer making me do this? This is so out of character!"

Zhong Ji Yi Ban waited in silence for the next set of lyrics whilst Yu Yan coughed awkwardly, spitting out the next lyrics quickly, "Lan man mei tian fen
Fan ying you ci dun
Bu gou jin shen
Hua tiao cuo yan se"

Romantic but has no talent

Slow in action

Listless and languid

Bought the wrong colour of flowers

But then suddenly, she slowed down and attempted to sing the rest, "Dan hen mao dun
Xi huan ni de ben"

But I am very contradicting

Because I like your stupidity

After this, Da Dong, Ya Se and Xiao Yu sang the beginning of the chorus harmoniously, " Wei xiao zai mei zai tian
Bu shi ni de dou bu te bie"

No matter how pretty and how sweet a smile is

If it’s not yours, it’s not special at all

Yu Yan reluctantly continued it, "Yan lei zai gu zai xian
You ni an wei

Xiao Yu smiled as he and his brothers continued to sing together, "Gao de zai jin zai tie

Yu Yan looked over at the three as the four of them sang the next line together, "Quan shi jie zhi dui ni you gan jue"

As they sang, the members of Zhong Ji Yi Ban, Tian Xin and Duan Chang Ren clapped in time to the song, all except for Sha Jie who was a grumbling bundle of jealousy. When she saw her two friends clapping along and grinning and smiling, she told them off and forced them to stay quiet. Liang Zhi and Xia Ba did not like Yu Yan either, but clapped along to pretend and show everyone else that they were still kind and friendly.

"Wan de zai feng zai ye
Ni deng yi yan
Wo jiu hen shou lian" the boys continued as Yu Yan sang the next line.

No matter how much I enjoy having fun

The boys then sang the next line, "Wo hui you guai you dian

They were then overwhelmed by whoops and cheers before a camera went SNAP right in front of them and its flash blinded them. "Ban Dao... did you just take a picture????" Da Dong asked quickly, rubbing his eyes and running over to their teacher to have a look at the camera.
"Of course I did! What other chance will I get to see you guys and Yu Yan singing together?" Tian Xin replied, keeping the camera to herself.

"I didn't sing!" Yu Yan broke out, shooting up from the log that she was sitting on, "The writer possessed me! I would never sing such a cheesy and disgusting song like that!"
Jin Bao San laughed, "Don't be stupid, Classmate Jiang! Just admit that you're a fan of Fahrenheit and S.H.E already!"
"Oi, if I said I didn't sing then I didn't sing," Yu Yan hissed coldly, through gritted teeth, "That stupid writer just wanted to sing with Jiro Wang, Aaron Yan and Calvin Chen so possessed me!"
"It doesn't matter whether you're lying or not." Sha Jie snapped, "What matters is that I should've been the one singing with them and not you!"

"Hey, hey, Sha mei mei, don't get angry. If you want to sing with us then you can, there's no need to argue with Yu Yan!" Da Dong said quickly but calmly.
"That's right-" Ya Se began before Wu Xiong started growling next to him.
"Ya Se..." she said angrily, jealous, "What girl are you singing about?! Is it Jiang Yu Yan?!"
"Calm down, gorilla girl, it's just a stupid song." Yu Yan snapped before Wu Xiong sat back down.
"You... sang really well," Xiao Yu commented quietly when Yu Yan sat down.
"I said I wasn't the one singing!" Yu Yan huffed.

"Okay, okay!" Tian Xin put her hands up, "Why don't I change the subject?" She said quickly, "I'll announce the winners of our challenge now, how's that?"
"Oh right, I forgot that even happened," Da Dong pointed out, "I wonder what the prizes are."
"You'll find out soon! Duan Chang Ren, can you please get out the prizes?" Tian Xin asked as she hopped over to the centre of the circle.

"I'm not really interested in finding out the winners." one student admitted
"Me too, most of didn't even find all our ribbons." another replied.
"That's odd!" Tian Xin commented, "I made sure that they were all really easy to find. What happened?"

Yu Yan whistled innocently as she dug her foot into the ground, looking up at the sky.
Sha Jie scowled, fed up with Yu Yan. "You cheater," was all she said in a low and cold voice.
Yu Yan smiled, "There were no rules against hiding other ribbons set out before we started, so Ban Dao," she turned to face their teacher, "That wouldn't be classed as cheating right?"
"That's cheating!" Tao Zi cried.
"No, it's called strategy." Yu Yan corrected.

"I'm afraid to admit that Yu Yan is correct," Tian Xin spoke up, "There indeed no other rules set out so Yu Yan and Xiao Yu did not cheat."
"That's not fair! We spent ages looking for those ribbons, you sly rat!" Sha Jie exclaimed.
"Not my problem," Yu Yan shrugged.
"Sha Mei Mei," Da Dong began, "You should calm down. If you insult Yu Yan, you're also insulting her teammate which is Xiao Yu, meaning that you're also insulting me since he's my good brother," he said gently, "Don't take it to heart okay? This was just a game." he continued.
"Da Dong, why are you always so biased towards Yu Yan?!" she shrieked, angrily before storming off to her tent. Yu Yan scoffed as her friends followed after her.

"Ban Dao, you should continue." Da Dong said with his eyes in Sha Jie's direction.
"Okay," Tian Xin nodded as she received three black bags from Duan Chang Ren. "In third place is.... Ya Se and Sha Yu!"
Sha Yu got up to receive a black bag and when he opened it, he brought out two gift cards, "All you can eat ice cream?" he read aloud, "Free ice cream for a year?" he grinned happily, content with their prize.

As Ya Se received his card, he muttered, "What am I supposed to do with all this ice cream? I rarely even eat desserts."
Xiao Yu leaned forward to look at him, "You have a girlfriend who will probably use it for you."
Wu Xiong beamed at the idea of so much ice cream.

"Second place is... Xiao Yu and Yu Yan!" Tian Xin announced.
"What? Then who's first?!" Yu Yan immediately replied.
"You'll find out!" Tian Xin smiled.

Xiao Yu opened their prize bag and when he brought out the gift cards, he couldn't help but laugh. Yu Yan turned to him, "What is it?"
"A year's worth of free sweet bagels." he replied, handing her a card.
Yu Yan wasn't amused but laughed too in utter disappointment and disbelief, "Why am I not surprised?" she sighed.
Upon seeing their reactions, Tian Xin piped up, "What's wrong? Don't you like the idea of sweet bagels? Cream bagels? Chocolate bagels? Waffle bagels? Cake bagels? Bagels that are made out of ingredients that wouldn't classify it as a bagel anymore? This shop imports all the best bagel desserts from abroad; it's a treat, no?"

Yu Yan rolled her eyes as she laughed fruitlessly, "I'm sick of bagels," she spat and gave her gift card to Wu Xiong, "Take it King Kong."
Wu Xiong beamed at all the free desserts she was going to have.

"Who's in first place then?" Da Dong inquired, curious, "Who were the people that managed to beat Xiao Yu and Yu Yan?"
"First place goes to...." Tian Xin paused for dramatic effect, "....Wu Xiong and Jin Bao San!!!"
"WHOOOOOOT!" Jin Bao San exclaimed, excited, "YESSS! DONG GE I EVEN BEAT YOU! HAHA I'M THE STRONGER ONE!"

Instantly, a large metal barrel fell from the sky and knocked Jin Bao San to the ground, "Jin Bao San... say that again and you'll be getting internal injuries AND external injuries!" Da Dong barked, before scoffing, "And please, we all saw and heard King Kong Mei Mei dragging you around by a leash so don't even try it."
Jin Bao San cried fake tears as his followers burst into laughter.

"Hey Ya Se, looks like Wu Xiong will be the one treating you on your next fancy date at an expensive restaurant," Xiao Yu said as he looked over at Jin Bao San's card.
"Free gourmet food for a year?" Ya Se read Wu Xiong's voucher aloud, shaking his head, surprised, "Ban Dao, this is unbelievable! You're leaving me no face in front of my own girlfriend, my money is now useless!"
"Aww, come on Ya Se, I'm sure you can give Wu Xiong things other than expensive things. She doesn't love you for your money." Tian Xin replied.

"Shakespeare said:" Xiao Yu began before a large scroll appeared before him with with classical music beginning to play in the background, "'The most beautiful things are not associated with money; they are memories and moments. If you don't celebrate those, they can pass you by.'"

Ya Se narrowed his eyes, "Xiao Yu, Shakespeare didn't say that one. Stop stealing my role."
Xiao Yu sweat dropped, "Oh, he didn't? I guess that's why that's your role and not mine." he laughed awkwardly, "But whoever said that has a point."

"What beautiful things in life are there if you don't have any happy memories or moments?" Yu Yan muttered quietly to herself with a scoff.

Her words didn't go unheard by Xiao Yu's ears.
