Chapter 31
Rain On MeAuthor’s Point of View
As soon as Yoonsan heard the door to Eunjung’s room close, he ran out of the house, calling out to Sooyoung that he’d be back. He ran out to his car, glad his car keys were still in his pocket. He drove to Edward’s apartment. As soon as he was there, Yoonsan realized that he didn’t know the floor Edward lived on or the apartment number.
“…didn’t think this through.” Yoonsan muttered. He would call him, but he didn’t have his number. He decided to just walk in there and see if anyone knew.
Yoonsan had finally found someone who knew exactly where Edward lived and was on his way to the apartment. When he got there, Edward answered the door, on the phone.
“When I see him I will-“ Edward’s eyes widened when he saw Yoonsan standing there with a sheepish expression. He motioned for him to come in quickly, closing the door behind him.
“Hey, hun, I need to let you go…yeah, no problem. I’m glad to see my ship sailing…Ha! It will sail, watch!...okay, bye.” Edward hung up and glared at Yoonsan.
“Seriously, you kissed Colette?” Yoonsan groaned.
“She kissed me!” Yoonsan defended himself. Edward just waved a hand.
“Why are you here?” Edward asked, walking to the kitchen to get something to drink, getting another cup for Yoonsan even if he didn’t ask.
“I need to talk to your friend. The kiss between Eunjung and I was not part of the plan and I don’t know what to do! I’m not good with these things.” Yoonsan exclaimed, dropping onto the floor. Edward scrunched up his face, nudging Yoonsan with his foot.
“Can you look anymore desperate?” Edward muttered, shaking his head. He stepped over Yoonsan, going to his computer.
“Come on, let’s hope that she answers this call.” Edward went to the Skype icon on the desktop, clicking going to his friend’s contact. Yoonsan finally made his way off the floor and was sitting down next to Edward just as the call began.
“I swear to God, she better ing answer.” Edward muttered, looking down at his phone. Finally, the call was answered and Yoonsan was greeted with a Caucasian girl with dark brown hair and light colored eyes. She didn’t look too happy.
“I was sleeping!” She growled. Yoonsan was terrified, but Edward looked like he couldn’t care less.
“And you could go back to sleep after this. This boy, has a problem.” Before the girl could speak, a loud voice was heard from the camera.
“Eonni! You’re awake?! Let’s go get food!” Soon, a smaller girl appeared next the other girl. She was a bit more darker, with dyed-blonde hair, her roots showing, and light colored eyes.
“Not now, Angie. I’m playing Love Doctor here.” The girl turned back to the camera. “Now, what’s wrong. Oh, hello San. When I said ‘we’d meet soon’ that it would be this soon. I meant like, in a few months soon. Anyways, my name is Rani.” Yoonsan smiled a meek smile, waving.
“Oh! Is he the ?” Angie wondered, loudly, switching to Korean. Edward gave her a blank look. “Couldn’t be anymore discreet, could you?” Angie shook her head.
“Anyways! What happened?” Rani pushed Angie’s head out of the screen, promising to play with her hair later if Angie kept quiet.
Yoonsan went to explain everything that happened after they got off the phone. He jumped when Rani jumped towards the camera when he told her about Colette kissing him.
“She kissed me!” Yoonsan had exclaimed, clinging to Edward who looked annoyed.
“She’s in a whole other country, calm down!” Edward pushed Yoonsan off of him.
Once Rani was calm, Yoonsan continued to explain what had happened. When he got to the kiss between him and Eunjung and how it happened, there was a squeal that could rival a teapot’s from Angie while Rani screamed “You don’t deserve her kisses, !”
“Oh God, did we have to call them?” Edward groaned, rolling his eyes.
“Shut up, Eddie!” Angie yelled before continuing to squeal. Rani had enough of the squealing girl so she got out of bed, showing Yoonsan how tall she was. She lifted Angie off the bed, dropping her just outside of the room before closing and locking the door.
“Go order take out or something.” Yoonsan exchanged a look with Edward. When did they sign up to watch a sitcom?
“So, you need my advice on what you should do? Is that why you called?” Yoonsan nodded his head. Rani sighed.
“Alright, well, not like you can deny the kiss between you and Eunjung. I mean, how did she react?” Rani wondered. Just as Yoonsan was about to answer, Edward let out a happy yell before getting up and dancing around.
“Ah! My ship is going to sail!” Edward cheered, shocking Yoonsan and Rani. “I’m so ing happy like, holy ! You guys are going to be so cute together!” Rani was about to yell at Edward to shut up and sit down so she could speak when Angie screamed out “I know!” It sounded like she was going to run into the room to join Edward in his cheering and dancing when she crashed into the door.
“Oh !” Rani ran to unlock the door and check on Angie but came back to her laptop when she was sure that Angie was fine. “How did she react?” Rani decided to ignore Edward and just continue the conversation.
“She uh…well, she blushed really hard and then ran up the stairs to her room. I ran out as soon as she ran up to her room.” Yoonsan rubbed the back of his neck.
“This could only mean one of two things. She was either embarrassed but a good embarrassed, meaning she likes you too. Or, she was disgusted. But, from what Edward and Eunjung have told me, it’s more than likely the first option.”
“When have you and Eunjung talked?” Rani shrugged.
“Does that matter? All that matters is that she more than likely likes you.” Rani looked down at her phone when she heard it go off. She ignored it and looked back at the camera. “Why the hell are you still sitting here? Go to your fiancée! And I want some progress to have been done by the time I go down there.”
“When are you coming here?” Yoonsan wondered.
“You’ll know when it happens. Now, go. And if Edward tells me that you’ve made her cry again, I will fly over there just to slap you. And my slaps are no joke. You will have a bruise on your face for the rest of the year.” Rani threatened. Yoonsan nodded his head. They bid their goodbyes—Edward was still fanboying—and Yoonsan closed out of Skype.
“Hyung, I’m leaving now. Thank you. I’ll make sure everything is fine between Eunjung and I.” Yoonsan flinched when Edward let out another happy yell. He was on the phone now with someone. Yoonsan shrugged his shoulders, walking out the apartment.
On the drive home, Yoonsan felt a bit better. He was still freaking out over the kiss and how Eunjung felt, but, he felt like approaching Eunjung to talk everything out, wouldn’t be so hard. It wasn’t until he got home that he realized how late it was. The sun was already beginning to set, it was that late. Yoonsan let out a groan, resting his forehead on the steering wheel. Today had been so long and dramatic. Was this how Eunjung felt most of the time, Yoonsan wondered.
Yoonsan walked into the house, ready to talk to Eunjung when Sooyoung called him into the kitchen. Yoonsan sighed, expecting to get scolded again.
“So, Miss Eunjung told me what happened.” Was the first thing Sooyoung said when Yoonsan walked in. She was heating up a plate and Yoonsan guessed it was his.
“And?” Yoonsan wondered, preparing himself for a scolding.
“I’m not mad but you better not be playing with her emotions.” Yoonsan shook his head.
“I’m not. I mean, yeah the kiss was really unexpected but, I do like her.” Yoonsan admitted, looking down awkwardly. He felt weird about admitting his feelings out loud but, it wasn’t a lie.
“Do you now? So sudden? And what about Colette?” Sooyoung wondered, handing the now heated plate of food to Yoonsan.
“Nothing was going on between Colette and I.” Yoonsan assured her. Sooyoung sighed, looking at Yoonsan.
“San, I love you. I’ve known you since we were little and I’m proud to say that you’re like a little brother to me. But, if you hurt Eunjung, I don’t know if I could ever see you in the same light.” Yoonsan was more shocked about her saying ‘Eunjung’ instead of ‘Miss Eunjung’ then by what Sooyoung was trying to say.
“I know this is why Eunjung never liked getting me or your friends involved with anything because she didn’t want us to take sides but, I’ve been watching everything San and, I don’t think I’d be able to side with you again if Eunjung were to get hurt because of you. San, I really do love you and care about you, but, you’ve been given too many chances. I’m so sorry San, so sorry.” And Yoonsan could see that Sooyoung was sorry. He couldn’t find it in himself to be mad at her for her words because if he were in her shoes, he’d probably do the same.
“It’s okay, noona. That just gives me more reasons to not hurt Eunjung. I won’t disappoint you noona, not this time.” Yoonsan promised, smiling when he saw Sooyoung smile.
“Okay, finish up and then go and see if you can talk to Miss Eunjung. She ate earlier. She wanted to wait till you were home but I made her eat since she seem distressed and she had a headache earlier.” Sooyoung explained.
“It’s fine, eonni. I can talk now.” Yoonsan and Sooyoung both jumped at the sound of Eunjung’s voice. It sounded like she had woken up. Did she hear them from her room?
“I was sleeping on the couch. I wanted to wait for you, Yoonsan but I guess I ended up napping.” Eunjung glanced over at Yoonsan when she said his name but she quickly looked back to the floor. Yoonsan couldn’t help but smile when he saw her blushing. Still thinking about the kiss, was she?
“I’ll leave you two to talk then.” Sooyoung hurried out of the kitchen, leaving Eunjung and Yoonsan by themselves.
“Do you, do you want to sit down?”
