Walls
Hell on EarthCome 7:30 and JungKook unlocked the door and walked in. He walked straight to the living room and he couldn't help but grin at Seohyun snuggled up in the blanket while she slept. It seemed these days she just got more and more exhausted.
"Seohyun-ah, I'm home," he called out softly, leaning against the wall. Seohyun's eyes fluttered open and she smiled when she saw him, immediately getting off the couch and hugging him.
"I missed you~" she giggled.
"Mm, you're warm."
"Yeah, take off your jacket and snuggle with me," Seohyun stated as she pushed off the sleeves of his jacket and he smiled as he set the jacket on the table and kicked off his shoes.
"Okay, fine," he chuckled softly, allowing her to pull him to the couch. As he lay down, Seohyun lay down next to him and gave him enough of the blanket to keep him warm. And she would've been lying if she said she didn't like the red colour painted into his cheeks from the cold weather. He snuggled into her shoulder and pretended he was smaller than he was by curling up tightly and hiding his face from the world. And Seohyun didn't mind, because she knew everyone wanted to be small once in a while, and maybe he was just a bit colder than he would've liked.
Seohyun threaded her fingers through the hair on the back of his head and smiled. "Are we a bit tired today?" She asked.
"Yes. It's so exhausting how people have so little common sense these days, and some of them still earn a billion a year while I hardly get enough money," JungKook sighed. "I've been lied to. I was told you had to be intelligent to get anywhere. Don't get me wrong, I love being a bartender and sometimes I get to do tattoos, but it's hard to believe that the people with no idea what they're doing are the ones who are getting way too much money."
"Yep, that's how it always works, but just know that you're working harder and making yourself a better person. And those billionaires have empty lives. I mean, why else would you start drinking at 3?"
"You keep me sane, you know that, Seohyun?" He asked as he looked up with bright eyes. Seohyun giggled.
"I'm glad I have a purpose here," she whispered. JungKook's expression fell and he leaned his head against the arm of the couch, giving her a painful look.
"Your purpose is to be there for me and be my bed warmer, and to be positive and tell me everything's fine, and to calm me down, and to greet me when I get home so I feel better. And you're my friend," he explained. Seohyun smiled and kissed his head.
"And I'll always be your friend
