Chapter 35 - Eventually

Times when I was alone in his house made me think about how he managed to live those 4 years in this big and lonely house.

If it was me, I would have died crying every day.

I had Jongin and Kai by my side those 4 years.

He had no one and he lived alone in this gigantic house.

How did he even survived?

The more I think about it, the more I feel like crying.

Maybe, just maybe, I should really trust him this time…

  (Krystal POV) I stepped into the huge Lee Corp building. Come to think of it, I think this is my first time stepping into this place. If appa did not forget his document and asked me to bring it for him, I wouldn’t even have stepped into this place. Being led to appa’s office, I passed him his document before leaving. As I walked down the long and quiet hallway, I walked passed an office which stopped me. It read: CEO, Lee Taemin. Standing outside his office, I thought of last week where I spent the whole of one week in his apartment. He put in all his heart, effort and time to take care of me and I admit, I felt his sincerity this time. I have pondered over this several times, I don’t know how to tell him, I don’t know how to start a conversation with him. I know I have been cold towards him almost everyday but I couldn’t help it. Maybe pride was something that is hanging there. Maybe I just didn’t know how to face him after that incident 4 years ago but deep inside, I know I still love him, in fact, this love has even grown over the course of years. As I was in my thoughts, the office door clicked open and just when I expected to see him, a lady came out. She was wearing a very formal office lady wear and I managed to take a glimpse of her name tag. So she is his secretary. “Good evening Ms, may I help you?” She greeted. “Oh… It’s okay, I was just passing by.” I said. Not convinced by my words, she added, “If you are here to see Mr Lee, I am sorry to say that he is not in today. He took a leave today.” And with that, she bowed and took her leave. After she left, I kept on thinking about what she said. Taemin oppa is not here today? Why? Did something happen to him? But thinking that I might just be worrying for nothing, I shrugged off the thought and went into his office, since he is not there. The room was dark and I had to switch on the light. As the room lighted up, his spacious and luxurious office room came into my vision and it was gorgeous. Everything was placed and decorated just like his style, it is like his second room. I laughed a little at that as I realized how taste and preference stays the same from young. Walking behind his desk, I sat down on his office chair. Taemin oppa, are you doing well as the CEO? It was a question that popped up in my mind as I sat there. As I was looking around, I saw his desk drawer which was half-opened. Out of curiosity, I opened the drawer and there lies a photo of the two of us, Taemin oppa and I. We were smiling so happily in the photo. Tears threatened to fall as I recalled our memories. As I picked up the photo from withing the drawer, I saw what was underneath the photo. It was a book that was titled: Jung, I missed you. Half heartedly, I took it out of the drawer and contemplated whether or not to read it.
