Chapter 3 - So near yet so far

(Krystal POV)   “Jung Soo Jung! You are here! I have been looking for you!” Myungsoo interrupted me. “Aish! Gamjagiah…What are you doing here? Wae? Why are you looking for me?” I asked. “Wae? I can’t look for you?” He said as he pulled me into a hug. As he pulled away, he looked at Yoonah who was sitting opposite me but he didn’t say anything. “Don’t you remember her?” I asked him. “Do I have to remember her?” He asked back. I rolled my eyes at him, “Tsk! Hopeless person! She is Im Yoonah, someone you helped on the first day of school, ring a bell?” I raised my eyebrow as I waited for him to recall. He took some time to recall before replying, “Ahh, I think I remember… She is the clumsy girl that bumped into me isn’t it?” He replied coolly, too cool that I felt like punching him. “Ya! What clumsy girl! She is my friend! And soon, your friend!” I smiled brightly. “What? Why must I…” And before he could finish, I pinched him hard without letting Yoonah see and glared at him. Looking at my actions, he knew what I was up to and immediately gave up, “Arraso… ” He replied before turning around to face Yoonah, “Hi, I am Myungsoo…” Again, he did it coolly, like always. Yoonah, on the other hand, replied shyly, “Annyeonghaseyo, I am Im Yoonah, nice to meet you.” She bowed. Myungsoo just looked at her, not even smiling. I got so pissed that I smacked his head, “Bow back you idiot!” and with that, I pressed his head down which caused him to groan, I took my chance to bent down as well to whisper into his ears, “She is a close friend of mine, you better don’t try anything funny and hurt her like how you hurt the other girls when they confessed to you in high school, I will kill you if you hurt her!” With that, the both of us got up and I smiled brightly at Yoonah like nothing happened. Right after they introduce each other, Yoonah suddenly looked shocked and pointed to the direction behind me, “Oh! Krystal ah, it’s him again!” Myungsoo also turned to the direction she is pointing, “Oh it’s really him, are you going with him?” I was confused at first but when I turned around and saw who is approaching, my heart skipped a beat. Wae? Why is he here again…? But, after a while of contemplation, I stood up, “Okay, then I think I should go, you two…Do get closer with each other okay?” Then I leaned in to Myungsoo and whispered to him, “Don’t you dare leave her alone here!”  After pulling away, I acted like nothing happened and smiled at them before grabbing my bag and walking away. I stopped in front of him. “Oh… How do you know I am coming…?” He asked. “For goodness sake… Who are you… So long as you walk pass, people will start talking… this is how popular you are…understand…?” I said in a matter-of-factly tone before walking to the direction of the campus’ gate with him tagging behind. Once we were out of the gate, he grabbed my hand, “Ya! Are you angry…?” He bent down to meet my eye level. “Ani… Why would I…?” I lied. I wasn’t really lying though… I was really not angry, I was just… Just… my heart feels weird… “Jinja…?” He asked again, “I thought you will be angry because I appeared in front of your boyfriend…” And now, I am really angry… “Bwoh!?! What did you say…?” I yelled at him. “Wasn’t this why you are angry…?” He looked at me with a confused face. “How many times must I tell you that Myungsoo and I are just friends!?! Ya! Can’t you get that in your head?” I raised my voice, hoping that the message will sink in. “Arrasso arrasso… Don’t get so worked up!! I was just joking!” He laughed it off. But I was not okay at all… I know very well who I like… It’s you… “Not funny!” I slapped him on the arm and strode off. “Ya! Kachi!” and with that, he slung his arm around my shoulder. “Alright! Don’t be mad anymore! I know you only love me… right…?” He asked before flashing me his killer smile.
