Author’s POV

When the newlyweds had left, the party didn’t go on for much longer afterwards, in fact, it stopped about two hours later. There were only two people who stayed when everyone else had left: Jongin and Mi Song. They hadn’t exactly been assigned to clean after the others, yet somehow that’s how they had ended up. Mi Song was collecting glasses while Jongin helped the hired cleaners with the replacement of the tables and chairs. It only took under an hour to fix it all, and as they exited the hotel – walking hand-in-hand – Jongin and Mi Song found themselves confused about where they were heading next. Jongin didn’t really want to go home to his house and Mi Song wasn’t sure if her parents were home or not, so in the end, they just decided to walk around town for a while. At least until they knew where they were going. “It’s super nice outside, isn’t it?” Jongin said. He looked down at Mi Song who held his arm. She smiled at him brightly; her white teeth lightning up by the street lights around them.

“It is,” she agreed. “This day couldn’t have had a better start in my opinion. Also, best thing about living in Seoul, is that we can go almost anywhere we want even though it’s one o’clock at night. So, where should we go?” she continued, happily skipping next to her boyfriend. Jongin hummed while thinking about his options. He gasped as he came up with the perfect place for the two of them.

“I know somewhere we could go. It would be just the two of us, alone and without a single bother in the world! Just like I want it. I’m going to enjoy this time with you, no matter what happens on the outside.” He dragged her along down the street, knowing the exact place where every couple went once in a while; a love café. Mi Song couldn’t believe her eyes as Jongin revealed his destination to her. She clung on his arm, her inner was bursting in joy and a few squeaks and squeals escaped through .

“You cannot be serious! Aw! You’re the best boyfriend ever! I love you so much, oppa!” she squealed. Jongin didn’t even get the time to answer before she had pulled him inside the café. Everything in this café exuberated love from every direction, even the corners had either pillows or stuffed animals that somehow symbolised love. Mi Song held her heart, feeling like this could be her happiest moment in her life so far.

“Come on, let’s take a room.” Jongin pulled her passed all the animals and decorations that Mi Song just loved too much to ignore. He found a worker who helped them find the perfect room for the two of them. They took off their shoes and entered the cosy, little room. This theme was exactly what Mi Song just happened to love most in the whole world; the room was filled with stars, colourful comets and a moon in the ceiling. There were some lights in the ceiling, but the room as a whole was quite dim and cosy. Mi Song sat down among the pillows and pulled a blanket over her legs. Jongin sat down next to her. “You like it?” he asked hopefully. Mi Song rested her head on his shoulder, taking his hand in hers and nodded.

“It’s perfect,” she mumbled. Suddenly there was a small knock on the door.

“Come in,” Jongin answered. A waitress shyly shot the door to the side. “Hello!” Jongin greeted the girl who looked a bit nervous. Maybe she was new, Jongin thought.

“Hello, sir.” The girl bowed. “I’m here to take your orders...”

“Oh, right. Eh... I think this sleepyhead wants... Let’s see.” Jongin opened the menu and went through it rather quick. “Ah. A cheesecake for us both, a wild berry soda for her and I’ll take a strawberry soda.” The girl took the menu and wrote the order up on in her notebook.

“Okay. I’ll bring it to you shortly.” She closed the door behind her, smiling with a tad more confidence than before. Jongin looked down on Mi Song.

“Are you tired, love?” he asked. He moved a few strands of hair from her face, tugging them neatly behind her ear. “Do you wanna sleep?”

“Nah... I’m fine.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes...”

“Okay.” Jongin rested his head on hers. “It’s really lovely this. Sitting here with you... even though you’re almost sleeping. Couldn’t be happier.”

“Mm,” Mi Song tiredly hummed in agreement. “I don’t even care about that it’s the calm before the storm anymore. Tonight I’m letting that go. And I’ll deal with it tomorrow...” Jongin nodded.

“Wisely spoken, my love. I’ll do the same. Let’s talk about things that make us happy instead. Like... how cute you are for example? Especially when you sleep. You always wrinkle your nose and squash half your face into either me
