FLASHBACK MONDAY

Xiao Yi:

It was one of those days when my brothers were thinking as one. But unlike the previous days, they were not one in planning a prank on someone. They were one planning a surprise for Chenchen. I was in on the plan, too. As the youngest, I listened to their suggestions and their insights. If they didn't ask for my opinion, I didn't talk. It was fine by me. Planning a birthday party was a lot of work, mind you. I know I have something in mind, but it was different when you're the one working on it. I was amazed at how Luhan and Suho gege were able to handle such things. 

Although Chen was part of the birthday planning team, today, he was exempted. Because we were about to shoot our part in the MV. Last Satruday, mama and papa had their turn. It was sort of a surprise because we were not expecting our parents to be goofy...especially papa. Hehehe. After papa and Chen left for the PSB, Luhan ge let us watch the raw video that J and Namjoon had taken. We were laughing so much. But then we had to leave because it was almost lunchbreak and we had to meet the Min and Kim kids at school. It was our only chance to film without Chen noticing our absence.

The oldies had asked mama's permission as well, and we said goodbye to her. Xiumin and Kris drove the family cars. We needed the SUVs because we won't fit in just one car. Luhan drove his own car, because the Kim and Min kids would be riding with us later. Suho ge had sent a text to Najoon that we would be meeting them at the school cafeteria. I know we weren't expected at school today, but there wasn't anywhere we could think of to meet the others. The Kim and Min kids didn't have Chinese license yet, so they couldn't meet us outside the school. 

I sat in the front passenger seat in Luhan's car. As usual, the maknaes rode with him in the car...except Kai. He went to sleep in the backseat of the Odyssey. Chanyeol also went to the backseat of the Sienna to sleep. I was sleepy too. Actually, I think we were all sleepy and tired because of the other day. But we endured because of Chenchen.

We arrived in school and parked the cars. We trooped to the cafeteria, Luhan and Xiumin in the lead. It was just almost lunchbreak, but some students were already there. Probably had free period before lunch. All eyes on us as we find seats. The oldies went to order lunch for us while we waited for the others. They were not expecting the seniors to be in this campus, and some of them whipped out their phones to snap a pic or two.

The Kim and Min kids arrived at the cafeteria mid-lunch. Jin wanted to eat lunch first before we went filming. I sort of stared at him for a little while. I don't know. When I see him, I was reminded of Lay ge. They had similarities in the way they carry themselves. Like silent waters running deep. LOL. I was glad he didn't notice, but someone else noticed.

Kris: Who are you looking at?

Me: Huh? Me? N-no one, ge.

Kris: From where I am, I can see that you are looking at Jin.

Me: Fine. Yes, I was looking at him.

Kris: He your crush?

Me: NOOO. I was just...

Kris: Yes?

I could sense he was teasing me, yet he was looking at me like a hawk. He was sitting beside me, so he kind of knew who I was looking at. Maybe I was just that obvious. Somehow, I was relieved that he didn't catch me staring at Jungkook. Hehehe. To be honest, I was looking at Jungkook eversince they walked in the cafeteria. xD

Me: I just thought he acts like Lay gege.

Kris: Huh...Lay...huh...

Me: Yes, Lay gege. Can't you see the similarity?

Kris: No, I can't.

Me: I suspected as much. Nevermind, gege. If it will relax your paranoid mind, I won't look at anyone else. I'll close my eyes.

Kris: Sure. I have a big hanky. You can just piggyback on gege, neh?

Me: No thanks.

The level in which Kris ge was when you talk about being paranoid, was like at the highest level. Maybe about 80-90% paranoia. LOL. I know he was just concerned about my well-being and he didn't mean to be a bad gege. They have so much stuff and responsibilities shoved down their throats because our parents couldn't be there at all times. I appreciated that fact, so I didn't dare fight them. It's just that sometimes, it can get annoying. The only rebellious thing I can do when it came to stuff like this, is to giggle a lot when I'm alone in my room. I could gush and blush in front of the mirror when I daydream about my crushes. Hahaha. Okay, let's not get there. I'm getting conscious. xD

Speaking of paranoia and stuff like that, Luhan ge was like Kris ge, by the way. He goes head to head with dragon gege on that matter. Chanyeol was a little lower in that matter, though. Only about 80% paranoia level. Still, I feel he was overprotective. Not always about matters of the heart, but mostly with my health. I wasn't a sickly kid, so a little headache or fever here or there, he'd fuss over me. I kind of liked it, though. I know that some people or little sisters do not get the same treatment as I have from my brothers.

Anyway, going back to the cafeteria scene, I focused on finishing my lunch. Only me and Sehun were eating between us Wu kids. The Kim and Min kids were also about to finish their food. Yes, I eat slow. Sehun too. But if the situation calls for it, I can eat a little faster too.

After lunch, we didn't waste any more time. The cafeteria was slowly accumulating students. The oldies led the way out the cafeteria and to the parking lot. We were followed by stares, hushed voices, giggles, fangirl squeals, and catcalls. Right or left, there were groups of girls, even boys...who followed us as we walked to the parking lot. I kind of exaggerated myself a bit, because I glared at everyone I heard talking about my brothers in a flirty way. When I reached the cars, I regretted it and climbed into the nearest car and sat at the farthest corner and ducked my head.

JK: Hi...

Me: Oh my god... 

I was not expecting to be seated beside Jungkook. I looked around and found myself inside the Odyssey that Kris ge drove. I sat right behind the driver's seat. I could see Kris ge looking at the rearview mirror and even through his sunglasses, I knew he was looking at us. Luhan must be having a mini heart attack right now because I was nowhere in sight. I knew he was expecting me to have followed him to his car, but I ended up here.

JK: Oh, no. It's...just...me...?

Me: Yeah, alright...sorry... *duck my head again*

JK: Uhm.. can I ask you something?

Me: What is that?

JK: I heard your older brothers call you something... Mei... What's that again?

Me: Oh, mei-baobei. It means baby girl.

JK: Ahhh... "Mei-baobei."

Kris: Hey, you are not allowed to call my sister that.

JK: Oops, sorry hyung.

Kris: Good.

This gege had really sharp hearing. OTL.

Luhan: 

Where is Xiao Yi? Has anybody seen her? Tao...? Sehun...? Chanyeol...?

Tao: Relax Lu ge. She's in the Odyssey.

Me: Did you see her get in the Odyssey?

Tao: Yes. 100% saw her get in.

Me: *dials Kris' number* Kris...pick up...pick up...

Kris: Yo Lu...

Me: Is Xiao Yi there?

Kris: Yeah, right behind me.

Me: Thank goodness. I thought she was following me.

Kris: Relax. She's safe.

Me: Alright. Let's go...

I led the group to the nearest park. I also considered the Kim and Min brothers, because they were just on lunchbreak. The park was open to the public, but it wasn't a congested park, so I thought it was a good venue to shoot the MV. As I thought about the filming, papa and mama rapping came to mind. I laughed. Tao who was in the passenger seat looked at me with one eyebrow raised. I ignored him and parked the car. After expertly parking...yeah...gloating here, I hurried out the car and locked the doors. Chanyeol was still inside the car and had to roll the window down to tell me he was still inside and needed to get out. Seemed like he was about to pull the knob at the same time that I locked it and it got stuck. Hahaha. I quickly unlocked the car and let him get out first before I locked it again.

Chanyeol: You are excited, ge.

Me: No.

Tao: Yes, you are.

Me: I am not.

Chanyeol: Then why did you lock me in?

Me: Just human...

And I went to check on  Kris and the others. Okay fine. I checked on Kris because I wanted to make sure Xiao Yi was with him... When I saw her step out of the car, I was relieved. But I didn't notice she stepped out after Jungkook. I only found out after, when Kris told me. I vowed to keep a close eye on them while shooting the MV.

It was  a fun shoot, by the way. Taehyung, as young as he was, was a good director. He explained what he wanted us to do. Of course we had our inputs, too. Lay and Taehyung acted as the directors. There was a part where we had to act out Chen's mannerisms and the Kims were like, "Hyung...what are you doing?" The Mins were like, "Is that part of the script?" And us Wu kids were like, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

I guess that's what made us different from the Kim and Min kids. We had our own brand of humor. There was nothing like Wu humor. We were not making fun of Chenchen of course. We just knew that he would be happy when he sees how we tried so hard to copy him. Especially the part where Kris acted as him standing on the bench ala concert stage, and we acted as fans and paparazzi. I didn't know how the H we were going to edit the video. But Lay and Baekhyun promised to help me, so I just let them shoot whatever scene they wanted to do.

Even if I was enjoying myself shooting scenes with the others, my eyes were sharp in catching little sister and Jungkook looking at each other. I fought the urge to come in between them and stay there forever. Then I fixed myself on Jungkook, watching him wherever he went that I didn't notice Taehyung and Xiao Yi laughing together near the fountain...far from where we were. If Chanyeol hadn't nudged me as he walked toward them, I wouldn't have noticed. Jungkook was having fun with Baek and Tao, while the others were filming their parts.

I followed Chanyeol to where the two were and I acted as if it was all cool, but deep inside, my heart was thumping loudly and I wanted to scold them. But I had to keep my cool. I'm supposed to exercise diplomacy here. Taehyung didn't look like someone who'd take advantage of little sister, and nor did Jungkook. I was just really concerned about little sister getting hurt if in case they break up...aish...why am I even thinking about it? Papa's rule is final. No dating unless you're 17. 

Sehun broke the tension by shouting.

"Is anyone listening to me? Can we go buy Chen hyung his birthday gifts after this????"

Fast forward THURSDAY:

Chen:

I was so happy that I just stared at my plate. Everyone was eating now. Lunch time. My birthday party. I never expected them to come up with the MV, to be honest. I pondered at their birthday messages. Papa had refused to go up the stage. He had said that he wa shy showing his face up the stage after we saw him making fun of himself with the MV. LOL. I didn't know papa could get more hilarious. I forgave him for not giving me a birthday message of course. It was enough that he did the MV for me. I knew papa loved me in his own way.

Milestone. License. Wow. I zoned out...

I was woken up from my reverie when...

Kris: Jongjong...pssssst...you got drool on your plate... Ahahahahahaha

Me: Huh..?

Yeah, Kris ge had his way of getting someone's attention. -_-

I swear, there wasn't any drool on my plate. -_-

I was the birthday celebrant, but I got bullied. -_-

The cake was yummy, though.

And this Japanese stuff that Lay and Kyungie made... just heaven...

Happy birthday Jongjong, indeed. ^_^

I picked up my fork to continue eating the rest of my cake.

"ODG! Where is my cake????"

And I saw Kai laughing...with my cake on his plate.

The little thief... -_-

Luhan: Alright! Time to open your gifts, Chenchen!

Me: Wait. I need to catch this thief first. KAIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!

*runs after Kai who quickly got off his seat and fled*
