Why did you have to be so stupid?

You could have just left her alone. You could have just ignored her. Why did you have to do something stupid like that? Look what it's got you now? Shaaaaaaatzzz!!! Oh my god. What ever, ever, ever, ever. No, no, no way. Not only will papa know about this, you might get disowned or shipped to military school. Arghhh.. I hate this. I can't with myself. Fuuuuuu-!

"Hey Lu."

Nah...I shouldn't tell them. But what should I do? Damn it. I already said yes. I should have said no. But then if I said no, she'd have tattled on her SNS and I'm sure papa would find out. Total humiliation. That knows her game. I would have been okay if she threatened to tell just papa. But she threatened to divulge it on all her SNS accounts. The hell! Is she desperate or what? But damn! Public humiliation is too much. I must protect my family with my stupidity.

Me: Oh, hey.

Xiumin: You went to the horror house with Xiao Yi?

Me: Nope. Just picked her up.

Xiumin: I thought you went in, too.

Me: She was with her friends. I'd be out of place.

Xiumin: Nah, it would have been exciting.

Me: Being with kids?

Xiumin: Xiao Yi's already a teen, you know.

Me: I know. She's growing up.

Xiumin: Yeah. Next thing we know she's having crushes and boyfriends.

Me: She can't.

Xiumin: I know. But it's normal she'll have them.

Me: She's too young orz.

Xiumin: She's smart. You know she won't get into a relationship now. Crushes are fine as long as there's no uh...yeah...you know.

Me: Exactly.

Xiumin was here. I can tell him. I can tell him and Kris at least. If I keep it to myself, I might get crazy. I need to let it out. Aish.

Me: Uhm. You got a minute?

Xiumin: Yeah, why?

Me: Let's wait for Kris. I have something to tell you two.

Xiumin: Is it serious or just...something you want to share?

Me: Serious as hell.

Xiumin: Okay. You okay, though?

Me: I think so.

Xiumin: Haoba. Let's talk when Kris arrives.

Kris had arrived a little later from basketball practice. He was leaving for Japan that Sunday. I waited until dinner was over. I didn't really wanna eat. I felt like vomitting. I was angry at myself. How could I be stupid? Mama looked at me like she knew there was something wrong. I planted the impression that I had a rough time during soccer practice. I pretended to flex my muscles.

After dinner, the younger kids were a bit noisy. It was Saturday the next day and no classes. Sehun and Chanyeol had planned to go to the horror house and were asking the others if they wanted to come. I decided it was the right time to tell Xiumin and Kris. I signaled to them to go out the back door going to the pool side. I made sure that no one saw us. Well, even if someone goes out, they won't be able to hear what we will be talking about right away. I sat on the grass, beside the pool, facing the door, so just in case someone goes out I'll see.

Kris: So, what's up?

Me: I think I'm in a huge mess.

Kris: Mess? What kind of mess?

Xiumin: We'll listen.

Me: Okay, so here goes.

"So there I was, on my way to pick up Xiao Yi. I was driving a little faster than necessary. There was a car ahead of me, swerving from left to right. Like the driver was drunk. I honked mercilessly. The driver opened their window and showed me the finger. It was a girl's hand. I was pissed off. Especially since it was a girl who was behaving like a total . If it was a normal day, I would have let it pass and look for a different route. But I don't know why I felt so stupid.

"I bumped the car. Not once, not twice, but thrice. It wasn't that hard a bump, not enough to dent the car, but I guess the other driver got pissed off as well, so she stopped the car and got out of the car. Who was the driver? Lo and behold, Dong Hua Chen. Eff! She was not drunk, though. But she definitely didn't know how to drive.

"Here's the best part. When I saw who it was, my blood boiled. Instead of just letting her cuss and diss at me and leave, I attempted to scare her by pretending I was going to hit her and drive off. She screamed of course. She didn't know it was me at first. There were people watching and lord knows if they were video recording it or taking pictures. I was not driving recklessly, so I wouldn't have been scared of her telling the cops on me, but I tried to hit her."

Xiumin/Kris: Whoa. Wait.

Me: Okay.

Kris: Wait. Me first. Can I talk?

Me: Alright.

Kris: So you were just there, driving to pick up Xiao Yi at the horror house and you happened to be driving behind Hua Chen?

Me: Yes. Unfortunately.

Xiumin: That is indeed unfortunate.

Kris: Yeah, bro. You should just have let her cuss and leave.

Me: I know.

Xiumin: But if she didn't know it was you, then what's the problem?

Me: Well, like I said, she didn't know it was me at first.

Kris: So, she went up to your car or you got out?

Me: Because I had almost really hit her, she walked up to the car to point and cuss at me more. Then she saw it was me.

Kris: Ahh...what happened next?

"It was just a block away from the horror house location, she told me to follow her as she went to look for a parking area so she could talk to me about the situation. I followed her of course. I didn't want to create a scene in the middle of the road. I just thought that she would just be settling the issue with me, so I agreed to follow.Unfortunately, she went to park in the horror house parking area. I had no choice. I just wished that Xiao Yi won't return soon before the problem was solved.

"But she asked for something impossible. I couldn't say yes right away, because I was thinking of what papa would say. What mama would say. What you guys would say. What all of you might think of me acting so stupid today."

Kris: So what did she ask for?

Me: She wanted to go out steady with me.

Kris/Xiumin: no!

Me: I know, right.

Kris: And you eventually said yes?

Me: Looks like it.

Xiumin: What??

Me: I thought about it hard at that time. She didn't want me to leave without an answer. She had threatened to post about the incident on her SNS accounts.

Kris: She had proof?

Me: Apparently, she said she could ask for some video recording from some of the people who saw the incident. And she was with someone in the car. I bet that person had taken pictures or recorded it.

Xiumin: Lu, I feel you.

Me: Your situation is different orz.

Xiumin: But papa still doesn't know.

Kris: I think papa has a hunch already.

Xiumin: Shhh...we are talking about Luhan's problem here.

Kris: Okay, I know. But isn't it time for you to tell papa?

Xiumin: Later. I'm scared.

Me: If you are scared, what about me?

Kris: You are dead, Lu.

Me: I know.

Kris: So, are you really going to go out with this girl?

Me: I don't know. I sort of agreed to meet her on Friday.

Xiumin: Like on a date? Aren't you supposed to go with Kyungsoo? You and Suho?

Me: Yes, I am.

Xiumin: You know papa had personally ask you to go with Kyungie.

Me: I know that. That's why she's going to meet me there.

Kris: And what about Suho?

Me: I'll give him a lame excuse. Like I need to go somewhere for a while and that he and Kyungsoo should wait for me in case the show ended and I'm not back yet.

Xiumin: What kind of excuse?

I couldn't tell them what excuse I was going to make, I had wanted to ask them for help on that one. But before I could ask them, I saw Kyungsoo go out the door. He was holding his books and other school stuff. He had sat down on the garden bench and placed his stuff on the table. He was going to study outside, okay. Far from the noise inside the house.

Tao, Chanyeol and Chen were having a hunting expedition inside the house. Kai was their prey. Yeah, it was Friday evening. As long as I didn't hear anyone screaming for help, I decided to let them scream their lungs out. Mama would have retired to bed early or probably went to reading her lessons. As long as there was no shouts of someone dying, mama would let them do whatever they wanted to do. Well, if I goit pissed, I'm sure I'd put a stop to theor craziness.

I told Kris and Xiumin to help me think of the best excuse, but instead of discussing it here, we'd have to wait until Sunday when I drive Kris to the airport. That way, no one else would hear anything. Saturday was not a safe day for us to discuss. Xiumin and Kris had schedules already for that day, anyway. They agreed and we went back inside the house.

As we made our way up the stairs, Sehun slid down and landed on his on the last 2 steps of the stairs. I shook my head. This kid had a knack of falling or tripping on any elevated surface. I'd have to tell papa to fix his room at the new house on the ground floor. He might not make it to 18 years old with both feet working properly. Kris was nearest the stairs when he fell, so he helped him up. The bratty kid thanked him and went on his way. I saw him stop in front of the fridge. These kids eat even if we just had dinner. I followed Kris and Xiumin up the stairs. I had wanted to rest and stop thinking about it. My brain was not even working properly. I didn't even know if I had explained to Kris and Xiumin properly. I just hoped they understood me. I stopped mid-stair and went to lean on the wall. Kris was talking to me but when he didn't get a reply, he turned around and saw me leaning on the wall. He went stepped down and nudged me. I was startled. I just grunted and went up the stairs. I patted Kris as he went to his room on the first floor. I knew he still had to pack his luggage. Xiumin and I continued to climb the stairs up te second floor. I bade him an early night and went to the room I shared with Kai.

As Kai was still being hunted down, I was alone in the room. I couldn't study for the exams next week. I took my phone out and checked all my SNS accounts. Who knows, that girl may just have been crazier than she already was and posted something about the incident. But I was sort of lucky, because she did not. However, when I logged in my Facebook account, my face fell.

One Friend Request: Dong Hua Chen

I just want to ignore it for a little while. I checked if she was online. She was. Great. Just great. Of course my status would show I was online. Grrrrr... I hesitated, but in the end I accepted the request. I bet that witch was happy now. For how long will we be doing this? OTL. I just hope she'll get tired of me and move on to someone else. I hoped it would just be one of her spoiled brat whims and will eventually get tired.

Just a few seconds after I pressed the "accept" button, there was another notification.

Dong Hua Chen has sent a request that you are in a relationship. Accept? Or ignore?

"Ignore."

*Expletives*

KRIS:

Damn. Luhan has a really huge problem.

I just hope papa won't know. I wish I could do something to help him get out of that mess.

Wait!

Didn't he say that he was driving behind Hua Chen who was swerving left and right? Like a drunk driver? I mean yeah, she was not drunk per se, but the fact that she was driving like a drunk, she should get jailtime for that. Reckless driving.

Maybe Luhan can use that against her.

But then again, Luhan pretended to hit her and drive off. Tsk, tsk. What can I do? Hmm... Maybe there were people who saw the entire thing...and would be able to testify that Luhan did not really want to hit her, but just wanted to leave the scene.

Yes, why don't we find a way to make it look like Luhan just wanted to drive off, but not really hit her?

Ahhh, I'm such a genius. Hahaha. I better write it somewhere or I might forget it.

I should be able to have something else in mind before I leave for Japan. It would be hard communicating with him once I get there. Mama will want to spend time with me and I'll have less time on the phone or online. It's going to be my 18th as well, so I guess mama will want to celebrate it with me without the internet or phone interruption. Hahah. I just hope these guys won't hate me if I don't text or call as much when I'm in Japan.

What did Tao want as souvenir again? And Sehun...what did he say again? OTL. Those kids are brats. Sheesh.

XIUMIN:

Whew. Luhan's got himself into a huge mess.

And I thought I had the best secret to keep from papa.

I'm not ready to tell papa, though. But if it means his attention will be focused on me and not Luhan, then I'll gladly do it. Luhan will need time to think about the best solution to his problem. And for him to do that, papa must not have the chance to find out.

Aish. I'm not ready to talk about it with papa.

Anytime is not the right time to talk about it with papa, actually. I mean, how do you start the conversation when it's about you telling your father that you are finally dating? It's not the usual relationship though, because it's long distance. Papa should blame eomma for matchmaking me with her. I don't really know if she told papa about it, because when I ask her, she'd just tell me to not worry about it. Whether papa knew or not, it was not a problem, she had said. I was old enough to date. Eomma knew papa's rule about dating.

Anyway, I was not really ready to tell him that I was already dating someone....from Korea. Papa was in Korea right now. What if he extends his stay and look for her? What if he went to look for her and interrogate her like how he puts us in the spotlight? She might freak out. Even if I tell her ahead of time, she would still probably freak out. She was not the type to talk much, and if papa will try to talk to her, she probably would faint. But if telling papa about her would delay him knowing about Luhan's situation with Hua Chen, then I'd do it.

Hey, don't you think it's too soon for you to be doing this?

I had sent a message to her through Facebook. And yeah, guess what? She immediately replied.

Her: Isn't it better this way? Like to officially announce it, unless you want me to post something else?

Me: Don't you think it's weird for us to be in a relationship when nobody has even seen us together on a date?

Her: Ah. Is that so? Okay. After Friday then.

Me: Yeah, fine. Friday.

Her: I'm sleepy now, Luhan. Goodnight bae.

Me: Yeah, I hope I can sleep too.

Her: Don't I get a goodnight?

Me: This was not part of the deal.

Her: *sad smiley face*

Well, I did not reply anymore. I had enough for one day. I wanted to vomit and I wanted to hang myself. If I wouldn't wake up the next day, I would consider it as a blessing. Urghhh... I have to wake up tomorrow. Grrrrr... I still have nine younger kids to take care of. I had to protect them any way I can. I'll have to endure this because I was the one who was stupid enough to stoop down her level. Let me just consider this as my punishment for being stupid and acting before I thought twice.

I placed my phone far away from me. I turned it off and placed it inside a drawer. I went back to bed and covered myself with my blanket. I heard Kai enter the room and open his cabinet. I heard him close it and went out the door. He was probably going to take a shower before going to bed. As he closed the door to the room, I faintly heard Baekhyun singing one of those stupid songs that they made up.

It made me smile for a while, then I tried counting from one to a hundred so I could fall asleep. It was a lame strategy, but I had to try. I didn't wanna study tonight. Maybe tomorrow. Or the next day. Right now, I just wanted to drown in unconsciousness and forget what happened. I hoped that by the next day, everything will just be normal as it ever was and today would have just been a nightmare.

I turned off my night lights. I didn't wait for Kai to return from his shower. He had a night light of his own by his bedside.

I feel like it's time you knew what happened between Luhan and Hua Chen a.k.a. Miss Darkness. I'm kinda dying at the moment because EXO-L, lame name, I know. But hey, it's EXO.
