I woke up almost 2 days later.

Mama was sitting on a bedside chair, with her back to me. She was watching TV. It was the six o'clock news in the morning. I looked around me, trying to absorb everything. I forgot what happened. Where was I? Why was I here on this hospital bed? Of course, I still didn't know I was out for 2 days.

I temporarily tried to shut my mind from thinking. My head hurt when I tried to remember what had happened. So far, the only recollection I had was me stepping out of the Soo Kui & Associates building with Luhan. He had told me that papa would have to deal with me at home because of my actions. Although I couldn't quite put it all together, I knew Jungkook and Jin were there, too.

Then I saw Taeyong's face swimming back in my mind.

Wait.

Why was he there?

I couldn't remember anything else after that.

I raised a hand to cover my eyes. My head was hurting again. The light from the flourescent overhead made me squint my eyes and my head hurt. The sudden movement made mama turn her head around to look at me. Then she started sobbing. She stood up from her chair and sat on the bed, hugged me and cried some more.

With mama crying, I heard shuffling of feet and some of my brothers appeared behind the curtain that divided my bed and the rest of the room.

Chanyeol: Xiao Yi! You're awake!

Chen: Welcome back, mei baobei.

Sehun: We thought you'd never wake up again.

Tao: Shut up, Sehun. Don't talk like that. We're happy to see Xiao Yi awake now, right?

Sehun: That's what I meant.

Suho: How are you feeling are you feeling?

Chanyeol/Chen: Group hug!

And they all crowded around me, squishing me and mama in the process. Mama wiped her tears and smoothed her hair. The boys had either sat on the bed around me or pulled a chair near it.

Me: Hi.

Chen: Woaaahh... It's good to hear your voice again, although it's a little cracked.

Me: Thanks.

Chanyeol: Had a good sleep?

Sehun: She did. She was out for-

Chanyeol: Xiao Yi?

Me: Yes.

Sehun: We were thinking of naming you "sleeping beauty" when you slept like that. Jungkook had-

Suho: Alright, Sehun...Xiao Yi's awake no. She only slept 2 days, not a hundred years.

Me: How long was I out? 2 days?

Mama: Yes, dear.

And tears came running down her face again. She dabbed some tissue to wipe it away and patted my hand. Then she asked Suho to call papa to inform him I had woken up.

Me: Where are the others?

Chen: Oh...they'r at home. Sleeping. We come here in shifting schedules.

Me: No school?

Chanyeol: It's Friday. Day after Chinese new year and it's still a holiday.

Me: Oh. Where's Lu ge? I remember he was with me when...when...what happened?

Mama: Shhh... Don't strain yourself. Luhan is alright.

Me: Alright? So, he was hurt, too?

Mama: No, dear. Just some minor cuts here and there, but he's alright now.

Sehun: Jungkook's still in a coma, though.

What?

What happened?

Jungkook. Still. In. A. Coma.

Wait.

As I was trying to rack my brain for some recollection of what happened, Chanyeol and chen elbowed Sehun for being a loud mouth. Chen acted as if to choke Sehun and Chanyeol glared at him. Tao was about to say something, when mama looked at him knowingly. He just smiled weakly at me, then.

Suho came back in. He had gone out the room when he made the call to papa.

Suho: Papa is on his way here.

Mama: Xiexie, qin'ai.

Suho: The other boys are coming with him.

Mama: Okay. Go call the nurse and doctor, dear. Oh...should have been the first thing we did *sighs*

Tao went with Suho to call the doctor. I wanted to know what happened. Realizing Jungkook was not awake for longer than me, I started to cry. The boys around me and mama tried to soothe me and asked me what was wrong and if I was hurting somewhere.

Yes. My heart hurt.

If I was out 2 days, and Jungkook still out, it meant he was badly hurt too. More than me.

But why was Taeyong's face the last one I saw in my memory...aside from Luhan....and not Jungkook?

The doctor and nurse arrived and attended to me. Had my blood pressure checked and my heart monitor assessed. Then mama went to talk with the doctor as the nurse arraned my pillow so I could be more comfortable. Chanyeol helped her.

Several minutes later, papa and the rest of the boys arrived. Papa immediately spoke to the doctor and mama. I searched for a clock to check what time it was.

8:30 in the morning now.

That meant, some of the boys were here last night and just got home earlier.

My brothers crowded around me and hugged me. I automatically scanned Luhan for any sign of bruises or broken limbs. He looked okay, except for some still bluish marks on his arms and a scratch on his left cheek.

His face had hit the sidewalk when that man tried to grab him. As he kicked the man, Luhan got loose and slipped. He fell and scratched his left cheek on the curb....

....and the man had grabbed Taeyong and pushed him inside Siwon's car.

....and Jungkook was on the ground, unmoving. I didn't know he was following me. He got hit by Siwon's car after he pushed me out of the way.

Oh. My. God.

I remembered everything.

My heartbeat went faster like a shooting star. I was still conncted to the monitor and it beep-beeped really fast as well. The doctor, papa and mama came rushing back in, as they heard the heart monitor sound erratically.

My brothers went into panic mode and paced back and forth the room. The doctor ordered them to go out for a while as he attended to me.

I think he realized that everything came back to me now. I remembered everything.

It wasn't the day I had to decide between Jungkook and Taeyong. It was the day before Chinese new year, J's birthday. At the skating stadium. Woodward. And Luhan was being abducted by Choi Siwon. But Luhan got away, so he took Taeyong, instead.

I stared at the doctor as he checked my heartbeat. He asked the nurse to take my temperature as well. I felt okay, aside from the pain on the side of my head where I hit the curb. No. My heart wasn't okay. I started to sob again. I tried to keep myself from making any noise, but the tears in my eyes didn't fool the doctor. His soothing voice told me that I was okay, but if there was something that hurt that wasn't in any lab results, to tell him. I could only nod and whisper to ask him.

"Do you know Kim Jungkook? How is he?"

It was my first concern.

The doctor sighed and nodded slowly. He patted my shoulder and let me lean back on the pillows. He went to check my monitor. He glanced at me for a little while before he went on to saying that he was Jungkook's doctor as well. He only told me that he was still under observation. He didn't expound and he commanded me to not think about anything else, except to get better. He patted me on the head and he went to talk with mama and papa again.

I leaned back on the pillows and stared at the ceiling. Jungkook was under observation. The doctor didn't say whether he would make it or not. He hadn't woken up yet. I sighed. I prevented myself from crying again. I wanted to see him and before I could see him, I would need to get better. For me to get better, I would need to follow the doctor's advice. I closed my eyes and tried to go to sleep. The doctor and my parents' voices were hushed. I didn't bother straining my ears to listen to them. The boys had returned and I heard them inside the room. I didn't open my eyes. I just felt parts of the bed being occupied by someone who sat down. Then I heard Chen and Baekhyun singing. A hand patted my hand, a finger poked my cheek, and it prodded me to open my eyes.

Baekhyun: Xiao Yi.

Me: Hi.

Baek: How are you?

Me: Sleepy.

Baek: Oh. Duibuqi

Me: It's okay, gege.

Baek: Hao le, go to sleep.

I closed my eyes again and he continued singing with Chen. Papa, mama and the doctor had gone out to discuss some things and the other boys in the room talked amongst themselves.

"Xiao Yi is a witness, you know."

"Yeah. I figured that out, gege."

"It's good that she has woken up. The case against Choi Siwon would be solid."

"Why don't you take up law, then? You seem to be interested in stuff like this?"

"I can't. You know I can't."

"You could get our assess out of jail in case one of us gets-"

"Zhong-ren!"

"I was just saying as a matter of fact, hyung."

"Did they find Taeyong yet?"

"Nope. No news yet. The Korean authorities have also been alerted, just to make sure Choi Siwon hasn't brought him back there."

Taeyong was still missing. And so was Choi Siwon. I cringed.

"I saw the Dongs yesterday."

"Where?"

"They were probably on their way to the detention center."

"Where were you, Zitao? Why did you see them?"

"I was in the backseat of your car, Kris ge. Or were you busy looking at your own reflection in the mirror that you didn't see me?"

"I saw them, too. I think they were stealthily trying to escape and wanted to leave Beijing....that's what I think it was."

"Kyungie has a point. To save face, they'd have to move somewhere where nobody knows them."

Beep! Beep!

That was a message tone, I think. I didn't really go to sleep. I just listened to them talking with my eyes closed.

"Jimin just texted. Jungkook is awake."

"Whoaaa..."

"How is he?"

"That's good news. Really good news."

"Should we go and visit his room?"

Jungkook was awake. I exhaled deeply. Tears slowly fell from my eyes to the side of my cheeks. I tried to shift to my side and sink my head to the pillow. He was awake. I wanted to go to him and check up on him. I opened my eyes and scanned the room.

Chen and Baek were at the foot of the bed, reclining, facing the other boys who were talking. Sehun had perched himself on top of the table, playing with his PSP. Kai was seated beside him and looking over his shoulder. Tao was on his other side, pointing at the screen and giving Sehun some tips. Kris, Suho and Lay were on the couch, with Luhan on the armchair, talking about the Siwon situation. Kyungie and Xiumin were seated on the carpeted floor, by the couch. Chanyeol was perched on the couch's armrest.

Me: I want to see him.

All of them stopped talking and looked at me. Kris was shaking his head. Luhan had winced and looked away. It was Chanyeol who spoke.

Chanyeol: I think it wouldn't be a good idea, mei baobei.

Me: Why?

Chanyeol: His doctor would want him to rest...just as you should be resting.

Me: My doctor is his doctor, too.

Kris: No.

Luhan: ...not now, at least.

Kris: Yeah. That's what I meant.

Me: When?

Baek: Maybe when he's a little better.

Me: It's probably going to take long.

Sehun: Let's go see him?

He had looked hopeful at the oldies. Kris closed his eyes and hung his head back on the couch. Xiumin stood up and stretched his hands upward. He cleared his throat and pretended he didn't hear Sehun. Sehun looked at Luhan, but the deer gege followed Kris' suit and he hugged the cushion and leaned back on the armchair. Suho and Lay raised both their hands up, meaning the decision was not theirs to make.

Sehun: We're his friends, you know. It would be nice if we go and see how he is. They came and visited Xiao Yi, you know.

Kai: Sehun has a point. I wanna go see him, too.

Tao: Yeah. Me too.

Kyungie: Maybe we should wait for papa...

Chanyeol: Let me send a text message to Jimin, and ask if Jungkook could accept visitors now.

Suho: That...is a very good idea. Don't go barging in his room without the doctor's advice.

Kris and Luhan just nodded. Xiumin went toward the door and peeked outside. Chen and Baek continued singing again. I started to open my mouth to say something, but Chen pressed his finger to his lips, as if to silence me, and continued his song.

Beep! Beep!

Chanyeol: Uhm. It's okay to visit Jungkook.

My heart monitor beeped loudly again. All 12 of them looked in my direction and rolled their eyes.

Luhan: You're not going anywhere.

JungYi is awake. But Taeyong is still missing. Choi Siwon is on the run from both Chinese and Korean authorities.
