“Then let me introduce myself to him” I said before I reached for the door knob with my free hand. “No! you don’t get it. My fathers home meaning he is going to be 100% wasted!” Key whispered loudly while pulling me back. “Look, he’s bound to come in so you have to hide, okay?” Key made his way over and opened a door which of course was the closet. Clothes were hung there neatly. I followed and approached closer to see who those clothes had belonged to.

This was Key’s closet. This was Key’s bedroom. My eyes scanned around the room and a smile appeared on my face. *I’m in Key’s room* I was surprised that his room was so…neat. For a guy I mean. But then Minho’s room is neat too.

I broke out of my thoughts when suddenly the door knob to the room began to twist. “, hurry” Key shoved me into the closet and I tried to keep quiet from the pain on my shoulders which hit the back of the closet.

I couldn’t see anything since it was pitch black when Key slammed the door shut just when the other door opened. “Where you talking to yourself?” I heard a males voice speak.

“No. Do you ever knock before entering?” Key stated loudly. “Wah? You hiding something? Or is it someone?” I heard Key’s father speak again but this time I also heard footsteps. *OH MY GOD he’s going to find out I’m here!* I screamed in my head in panic as my heart accelerated. “No ones here, so get out. I need to change” I can tell Key was standing in front of the closet because his voice sounded so close. I heard footsteps again, approaching closer it seems. The footsteps stopped and I held my breath. *I’m going to get caught!* I closed my eyes and the next second I heard Key curse in pain.

*D-did…did he just hit his own son?* my fear level just rose to an whole new level. “I know the girl is in here. Next time you try to hide her, try hiding the ing bag first!” Key’s father yelled in rage and the next second the floor flung opened.

My eyes rounded in fear once I looked up to see the furious, tall, man’s eyes piercing down at me. His eyes reminded me of Key’s but the only difference was, there was no love or kindness shown. His hands reached out for me and I jolted with my eyes closed.

“Don’t you dare touch her” Key shouted in rage and the next thing I heard a loud thud. I opened up my eyes to see Key on top of his furious father.

“Hara, go, get out!” Key held his own father down and looked over to me as I quickly got out of the room. I heard more yells and curses as I made my way over to the couch grabbing my bag and ran out of the house. Once I was out in the open streets, I couldn’t help but look back to the house wondering if Key was going to be ok or not. I hugged onto my bag tightly as I waited.

Key did come out of the house. He approached me and I already could see an bruised mark on his left jaw. “Are you okay?” we both asked at the same time. I was speechless at what I saw. *How could his father hit his own son like this*

“Come on, I’ll walk you home” Key said taking a hold of my hand. I couldn’t help but tightened the grip as guilt hit me.

“I’m sorry. I should’ve listened to you in the first place.” after my comment Key halted and pulled me into his arms. He lightly kissed my forehead before adding, “do me a favour. Never come over ever again.”

I nodded in agreement while hugging him back. *If it means I won’t be a burden to you, then I won’t come over ever again.*

“You still haven’t told me the reason why you didn’t come school” I reminded him as we walked hand in hand in the streets. I glanced up at him waiting for an answer

“I was working” Key responded with his eyes looking straight ahead. “W-work?” I repeated in confusion. “Yes, work. Where you earn money, so you can spend it on things and to stay alive” Key spoke trying to sound funny. “I know what it is.” I responded and stopped in my tracks. “Are you…having financial problems?” I knew this question was a bit sensitive but I’m too worried to not ask. Key halted and turned to face me. “Yes and No” he spoke looking a bit uncomfortable. I furrowed my brows in confusion at his answer.

“Look, don’t worry about me. Like I said, it’s not something for you OR the guys to get worried about” Key spoke like it wasn’t a big deal but I know he was just putting up an act. Who wouldn’t be worried if someone you know is skipping school for work. Working for I don’t know how long because once you get the chance to see him he’s tired, moody and stressed out. “We are only worried about you.” *I am worried about you*

“This job…isn’t permanent, is it?” I prayed that it wasn’t. I wanted the old Key back, back in school where he should be, back with his friends, back with me.

“Ani, it’s just temporally” he answered before entwining my hand with his again. “So are you going to come back to school tomorrow?” my eyes lit up waiting for him to say yes.

“I see someone misses me already” I was about to deny his words but couldn’t as he pulled me into his arms. “I missed you too. Sorry I couldn’t be with you, I’ll make it up to you in Jeju” Key softly spoke. I smiled and hugged him back around his waist while my heart was beating madly against his chest. My mind was at ease for a few seconds but that didn’t last long until something clicked.

I knew why Key was working for those long hours. I unwrapped my arms around him even though deep down I didn’t want to. Key let go of me and looked down to meet my eyes in puzzlement. “Are you working…because of…the trip?” I asked. There was a pause and Key’s eyes left mine.
