Encounter
Eternal FlameHyunjoong, now 16 years old already, walked down the quiet halls of his school, inhaling the sweet scent of pine wafting around him. As he got closer to the Music Room, he heard faint piano sounds; a sweet and sincere melody flowing out from between the slight crack of the two doors. Carefully pushing one open and peeking into the large instrument-filled room, he saw a young teenage boy playing the piano.
Why's he here to late at night? He leaned against the wall inside the room and listened to the soothing tune.
A few minutes later, the boy at the piano ended the piece and whipped around in surprise with wide eyes when he heard someone clapping from behind him.
"Y-You heard?" he stammered. When he saw the boy, he could feel his blood begin to pulse within him. From beneath the black contacts, his real eyes saw a dark aura pertruding from the boy, an aura that only vampires possessed.
When the boy at the piano quickly turned around, Hyunjoong's heart skipped a beat. Wow... This boy's beautiful. His caramel hair, red-framed glasses, plump lips... His milky skin makes me want to bite into him... The boy noticed something. I can't read his mind... How...? Usually, I would be able to hear people's thoughts with ease, as if they are actually speaking to me. It's like there's a wall blocking me.
"You're really good," Hyunjoong praised, standing up straight again and walking towards him. "Do you practice here everyday? What's your name?"
"Y-Youngsaeng..." the latter stuttered nervously, his heart thumping hard. It felt as if it was about to burst out of his chest.
Hyunjoong's eyes furrowed, his smile fading. "Youngsaeng...?" he echoed. The black fox from when I was a child was named Youngsaeng... This boy can't be him. He grinned again, causing Youngsaeng to twitch in surprise.
"My name's Hyunjoong," he introduced himself with a smile. "From the looks of your uniform, you're from the Day class."
Youngsaeng's pupils dilated. Hyunjoong...? No... Not that one, right? It can't be...
"Do you like playing the piano?" Hyunjoong continued to interview.
"Um... Yeah..." the latter murmured slowly with a slight nod.
In the dim light, Hyunjoong noticed something gleaming on the boy's neck. A rosary with a round crimson jewel in the middle. He pointed at it. "A rosario? What's that for?"
"Oh, this? It's... a keepsake from my mother," he uttered as he held it in his hands.
"Wow, it must be special," Hyunjoong cheered. "Are you coming here tomorrow?"
"Y-Yeah."
The Night class student grinned and leaned over until his face was right in front of Youngsaeng's. "See you tomorrow then. I wanna hear your playing."
After Hyunjoong left, Youngsaeng began banging his forehead on the piano. Shoot, shoot, shoot... Please say he's not the Hyunjoong from 11 years ago... He can't be... He can't be...
