Second Eye
Eternal FlameIn an hour, the Headmaster entered the room again with luggage with him. Youngsaeng and Hyunjoong furrowed their eyebrows in confusion as to what he was doing.
"Do you need help with that?" Youngsaeng offered as he quickly went over, taking a few of the bags. "What is this stuff?"
"The things from your Day class dorm," the Headmaster replied.
"Eh? You didn't have to get it yourself. I could've went to pack up," Youngsaeng exclaimed in shock as he quickly pressed the stuff against the wall.
"I didn't want you to meet the bullies again along the way," the man remarked thoughtfully. "Anyways, give me a few details on them."
Youngsaeng was hesitant and nervous but he talked anyway. "I... I'm not really sure... One had black hair and the other had brown hair... That's all I really remember about them..."
"I saw them," Hyunjoong interrupted as he stood up from the bed. "When I went downstairs, I saw them. So did Kyujong."
"Oh? Hyunjoong, you tell me then. Youngsaeng, go change into your clothes. I'll go and find a room for you to sleep. For now, just stay in Hyunjoong's room."
Hyunjoong felt his heart skip a beat as blood rushed up to his cheeks.
As he and the Headmaster went over to Hyunjoong's desk and sat down, Youngsaeng took out his pajamas and hurried into the washroom to change. When he came out, he saw that the Headmaster had left and Hyunjoong was back on the bed, reading. The younger boy lay down on the couch and stared up at the ceiling absentmindedly.
"Hey," he heard a voice in his head. It was his cross. "What are you doing? Hurry up and let me out so I can kill these vampires. You know that my purpose is to kill them."
"I'm not letting you out," he hissed back at the voice. "I thought I told you already."
The one inside the cross laughed. "When you turn 18, this seal will break and I'll be let out anyway. What choice will you have? Isn't it the sooner, the better? Anyways, you don't like vampires either, do you?"
Youngsaeng closed his eyes and sighed as he sat up. "To be honest, I don't. But don't go using that fact against me. When you were small, you met a little vampire boy, didn't you? One with the same name as this vampire."
"I didn't meet him. You did," the voice chuckled. "That time, the effect of the rosario was already affected me and turning my consciousness into you. You're only a human version of me."
"Also, tell me something."
"Yeah, what?"
"I've been wondering for a long time. Exorcists have one silver eye to see auras of vampires and demons. Tell me why I have two silver eyes. What do I see with the other eye?" Youngsaeng murmured quietly.
"The other eye is not yet active," the deep voice of the fox resonated from within him. "When you were five, the cross began turning me into you. When you were seven, the cross sealed my soul and consciousness, stopping me of all contact with you. But after you passed the age of ten, the seal began to weaken."
"That's when everything began changing," Youngsaeng muttered in realization. "When I was 12, my wounds began healing right away. When I turned 14, you began talking to me. When I turned 15, my stamina and physical power increased. And just this year, one of my eyes activated."
"That's right. At your next birthday, your other eye will also come alive and your spirit magic will rise."
Youngsaeng grit his teeth. "And on my 18th birthday, the seal will break, won't it?"
He heard an evil giggle from the fox. "That's right. And I will come out and devour all of your little friends. Won't that be nice?"
