Almond Milk & Cucumber Salad
More Like Me: The PrequelSooyoung looked at her watch and the time was already 4.15AM. There were 3 more pages left to translate. She wasn’t really that sleepy but her shoulders hurt. “Seriously she needs to get you a table for you to do your work.” Sooyoung said to the young girl.
“Thank you for being concern.” Krystal smiled. They were sitting next to each other on the kitchen’s floor with their backs leaning on the kitchen cabinet. They had their laptops on their laps. The kitchen was the only place with good Wi-Fi signal.
Krystal took a nap for an hour earlier and when she got up she was surprised to see Sooyoung was still wide awake. Staying up every night playing Dynasty Warriors certainly pays off for her.
“Do you need anything to drink?” Krystal offered before she put her laptop on the floor and stood up. “I don’t think there’s anything in there that I want.” Sooyoung said. She remembered earlier, there was only crappy vegan milk inside the fridge.
“Well, almond milk is not that bad.” Krystal said as she took the carton and poured it inside a glass. “Are you vegan too?” Sooyoung asked.
“Oh God No!” Krystal straightaway shook her head. Sooyoung laughed seeing the response. “Try it.” Krystal handed her the glass filled with almond milk. “Is it better than cow’s milk?” Sooyoung asked. “Of course not.” Krystal smiled. Sooyung took a sip on the milk and then she looked at Krystal. “Taste like .” Sooyoung said. “Exactly, I’m just gonna throw this in the sink.” Krystal agreed.
“So Sooyoung, what’s your story?” Krystal asked the moment she sat back on the floor.
“What do you want to know?” Sooyoung asked back with a smile, her eyes were looking at the laptop screen. “I don’t know, give me something.” Krystal smiled back. She really wanted to get to know her more.
“What do you want me to give you?” Sooyoung asked another question. Then she looked at the young girl cheekily. “I mean things you like to do on your past time and stuff like that.” Krystal said.
“Hmm, I’m into gaming.” Sooyoung smiled. “Really? What kind of games d you play?” Krystal asked. There was really something interesting she saw in Sooyoung.
“I play everything. I’m into Dynasty Warriors at the moment.” Sooyoung said proudly and then she went on talking about the game for almost 20 minutes. Krystal didn’t mind at all. She was happy to see Sooyoung talked about it so passionately. “Maybe one of these days you could invite me to your place and we could teach me to play games.” Krystal suggested with a smile. “Sure, why not.” Sooyoung smiled back.
They were talking to each other the whole time while they were doing the paper. For Sooyoung it was fun to be around younger people for a change. She was done with all the translation around 7.50AM. Krystal had fallen asleep again next to her. The girl’s head was on her shoulder.
“Krys..” She slowly woke the girl up. “I’m heading home now.” Sooyoung mumbled slowly. “Why don’t you go rest in the bedroom now.” Sooyoung said.
“Huh.. You’re heading home already?” Krystal asked sleepily.
“I’ve been here the whole night..” Sooyoung chuckled. She then helped the sleepy girl to stand up and guided her to her bedroom. The room still had no bed but there was a sleeping bag. “I’l
