It was Friday, the last working day and Jessica had never felt that excited. Although she had awfully a lot of things to do, she didn’t mind any of it. She was already at the office that morning as early as 8.15am. Krystal decided to still stay at her parents’ house yesterday so it was a relieve for her. She did call her mother last night informing her that she would be out of town that weekend so Krystal might need to stay with them a bit longer.

She had a meeting with an investor from the States for almost 3 hours in the morning, and another meeting before lunch with her father. Then she might need to get her presentation on the outsourcing project settled later in the evening since the meeting with the people from Philippines would be next week. She desperately wanted the presentation to go well this time.

She had requested Tiffany not to let anyone disturb her that day. After she was done with all the meetings, she went inside her room to get started on her presentation. While she was doing on the presentation, she got a text.

From: Sooyoung
Message: I just got back from the hospital. I went with my mum.

Jessica read the text and then straightaway called the girl using her office’s phone. She really aint got no time to be texting at that time. She put the call on loudspeaker.

“Hello.” Sooyoung answered her phone.

“So what did the doctor say?” Jessica asked.

“Oh wait. I wrote it on a piece of paper.” Sooyoung said as she took out the paper from her pocket. “The doctor said that there’s a solid swelling of clotted blood within the tissues of the nailbed.”  She read from the paper.

“Oh my, is it bad?” Jessica asked worriedly. She stopped with her work and then stood up from her chair. Then she walked slowly towards the big window in her office.

“I had to go to the emergency room! But I was brave! I didn’t cry at all!” Sooyoung exclaimed. “Give me the phone.” Suddenly Sooyoung heard Mrs Choi’s voice over the line. “No! Mum! No!” Clearly Sooyoung and her mother were fighting over the phone.

“Ms Jessicaa.” Finally Mrs Choi got a hold on the phone. “Oh hi Mrs Choi.” Jessica greeted the woman. “She was screaming like there was no tomorrow.” Mrs Choi said. Jessica just chuckled. She expected it of course. Even if Mrs Choi didn’t tell her, she knew Sooyoung was lying just now.

“What did the doctor do just now?” Jessica asked.

“The doctor had to drain all the clotted blood from inside the nailbed. There was a lot of blood Ms Jessica!” Mrs Choi exclaimed. “I have never seen that many blood since my last period in September 2009!” Mrs Choi mentioned something so weird that made Jessica speechless.

“Hmm anyway, did the doctor say anything else?” Jessica asked awkwardly. “She might need to go back to the hospital for a follow up next week. The doctor needs to make sure that there’s no fracture to the bone or the tendon. ” Mrs Choi informed.

“Okay. I will get my assistant to call the hospital so that they can forward me the bill.” Jessica muttered. She still felt a bit guilty over what happened to Sooyoung’s thumb. She didn’t expect this would happen.  “And if I’m not busy next week, I will take her to the hospital.” Jessica continued.

“Thank you so much Ms Jessica.” Mrs Choi smiled.

“Mrs Choi, you can just call me Jessica.” Jessica said sofly. “Well, thank you so much Jessica.” Mrs Choi repeated the same thing without the inclusion of the word ‘Ms’.

“Ask Sooyoung to rest okay. It’s a long day for her tomorrow.” Jessica said. “You go rest now.” Jessica could hear Mrs Choi instructed Sooyoung. “I don’t wanna go resttttttt!” Sooyoung whined.

“Oh I’m assuming you will be joining us this weekend.” Mrs Choi ignored her daughter as she went back to the phone.

“Yes I am Mrs Choi.” Jessica smiled. “I will ask Soojin to book a ticket and a room for you.”

“Oh no, it’s okay. I will book my own room and flight ticket.” Jessica informed. However, Mrs Choi insisted to pay for everything. Jessica had no choice but to agree. The flight from Seoul to Jeju only takes an hour.

“Sooyoung will text you the flight details. We will go to the airport together okay.” Mr
