The time was 3.45PM and Sooyoung was on her last 15 minutes break. In a day, all call center agents would be getting a three times break. The first one would be the first 15 minutes break before lunch, and then there an hour lunch break and the last one would be another 15 minutes break before the shirt ended.

Sooyoung was just at her working station, daydreaming while looking up on the ceiling. 2 more hours to go till her shift ended. She was planning to go to the game store after work to make a pre order on a ps4 game. She was already happy just by thinking about it.

“Eh? We have a new Vice President.” Suddenly Hyoyeon’s voice was heard from beside her. “Really?” Sooyoung said as she sat straightly on her chair, then she straightaway checked on her email. There was a standard generated email from the bank addressing the news to the whole staff.

Dear All,

Central Bank of Seoul is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Jessica Jung as our new Vice President today. Ms Jung is the granddaughter of CBS founder and owner Mr Jack Jung (I just made the name up lol). Ms Jung will be responsible for acquiring top customer prospects within the bank’s existing and emerging markets, focusing on high touch relationship banking and customer service experience.

Ms Jessica Jung’s Background

Ms Jung was born in San Francisco on April 18, 1989. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. She had recently completed her MSc in Accounting and Finance in Queen Mary University, London.

She is a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Council and she is also the President of the Korean Cancer Resource Foundation.

“Hmm..” Sooyoung was still reading the email. “President of Korean Cancer Resource Foundation?” Sooyoung said as she looked at Hyoyeon. “I’m not even surprised if we got another email asking us to wear pink every day.” Sooyoung added.

“I know right.” Hyoyeon agreed, “Isn’t she too young to be a VP?” Sooyoung asked. “Well my friend, if this is your family’s bank, you could be pretty much anything.” Hyoyeon responded.

“Is she even capable? I mean you need to have like someone really really experienced to be the VP.” Sooyoung commented. “What a strange world we live in now Choi Sooyoung.” Hyoyeon said before she got another call.

“Choi Sooyoung!! Get readyyy!! Stop wasting time!!” Suddenly Sooyoung heard her name was being called. It was Sunny, one of the team managers. Sooyoung looked at her watch and saw the time was almost 4PM. She needed to be back on the line.

“ you.” Sooyoung mumbled slowly to herself as she grabbed her headset and immediately wore it.  “I heard that Choi Sooyoung. Don’t make me submit a complain to the HR.” Sunny responded from her place. Her place was actually not that far from Sooyoung’s. “Go ahead, I don’t care.” Sooyoung mumbled to herself slowly but loud enough for the manager to hear.

“What did you say??” Sunny stood up from her place looking furious. No one had ever talked back at her, all her agents in her team were always submissive towards her. “I didn’t say anything.” Sooyoung said with a straight face.

Sunny then walked towards Sooyoung’s place. “I am a manager here, you do know that?” She said loudly with her hands on her waist. Sooyoung didn’t even look at her as she was just staring at her desktop checking on her other emails. Sunny was getting annoyed by it.

“Look at me when I am talking!” Sunny screamed and surprisingly she turned Sooyoung’s chair so that the girl would face her.

“You asked me to go on line just now, and I did! What more do you want from me??” Sooyoung’s voice was starting to get higher. Everyone was looking at them. Hyoyeon was starting to get restless as well. “Soo, chill!” Hyoyeon mouthed to her friend slowly from her place. Of course Sooyoung ignored her.
